Well, looks like we will be moving to the shunned section of the ship. Can't justify the expediture for 3 tuxes or extra packing room for three in the limited luggage.....

So we will not be doing tuxes for the formal nights....

when did you ever get out of the shunned section??? :rotfl: that's your permanent residence, no need to move there

Please say a prayer for my cousin and her family. Her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident early this morning. Today would have been his 43rd birthday. They have three daughters (16,13 and 10).

He just got home from Iraq about two months ago.

how tragic, prayers will be said

Wow!!

Thanks for the pics Andrew, it sounded like a great trip. Seeing the pics seems like yesterday we were there, even though its been since Dec. of 2001. Brings back alot of memories...we stayed in the castle club in the DL hotel and had our own private elevator/entrance in the park. LOVED it!

Thanks for sharing!

That breaks my heart. I will definitely keep them in my prayers. :worried:

Last night we had another wonderful meet with our fellow DISers. This really is getting exciting having two in two weeks. Last night Stacey's family (Justmestace), Chris's family (Grandma X3), Desiree's family (A litle Pixie Dust) and our family. We had dinner at the Acapulco restaurant at the port since Stacey will be leaving on the Magic today. Everyone had a great time but alas we just did not have enough time to talk as much as we wished.

I am sooo jealous!

It took me 5 years to find my job!!!::yes:: ::yes::

Yes.... I have two theatres that are assigned to just me....a 30 screen theatre and a 20 screen theatre.:rolleyes1 The money is not always great but I made a small fortune Friday!!:woohoo: :woohoo: The benefit is getting to see all the movies.:thumbsup2

Wow, that sounds like an awesome job. I was wondering how you saw all those movies so fast. I knew that you either worked in a theater, or was a die hard movie buff. LOL

Grown Up Princess Night Poll - Closing Today!

For the new folks: Grown-Up Princess Night is an event created on this thread. The little girls on the cruise get to be princesses for any formal night and wear their Disney Princess costumes. Some of us wanted to be princess too and decided to "dress up" special one night on the cruise. How much you want to dress up is each Princess' personal decision. Most are wearing a tiara, many are planning on gloves and sparkly jewelry.

There is a Poll over on the Planning Board for selecting which night should be Grown-Up Princess Night. We are going to declare the poll completed this Sunday night (June 8th) so that all of us Obsessive Planners can schedule it into our spreadsheets! If you haven't voted yet (or would like to change your vote), please head over to the Planning Board.

The current tally is:
1st Formal Night - 4 votes
2nd Formal Night (Ballroom Under the Stars) - 23 votes
Semi-Formal Night (was Prince & Princess dinner for WB Repo, but we don't have official word for the EB) - 10 votes

DH and I were talking about this today. UNLESS we find really great deals for "one time" use formal wear, we will be joining you

So sad to read this! Very tragic!
Prayers & pixie dust to all the family.

Andrew, welcome back!! What a wonderful picture of Alice and Stephen. And that picture of you on Dumbo, boy you really have lost a lot of weight. :thumbsup2

Stacey let me know yesterday that she has posted some of Megan's wedding photos over on the Blabbermouths thread. They go on for a couple of pages. Megan's wedding pictures starting about half way down the page. Right this very moment Stacey is sipping on a well deserved drink somewhere on the Magic.

Just to let those of you staying at the DT, Stacey checked into the hotel at about 1pm yesterday and immediately went to sign up for the free shuttle service to the port for today. The earliest she could get was 11:30 :scared1: She said that there were several DCL people ahead of her and a lot of Carnival passengers. Remember 2 ships will be leaving on 8/17.

Will DCL just leave the extra bags in the hall???:furious:

No but i bet people with transfers will only get one tag. and the other bag will be out in customs with the rest of us..

My DS10 has the 3:45 100 degree game!!:scared1:

:scared1: Our neighbor has a son who plays and said they called all games today after 3 kids passed out yesterday....

Well, looks like we will be moving to the shunned section of the ship.

when did you ever get out of the shunned section???

Hey i was planning dinner around the shunned section....:rolleyes1

Please say a prayer for my cousin and her family.

 That's awful...My prayers go out to them.

BTW wish my phone luck...i'm calling Cheryl...

No worries, Tom . . . on our last 7 day DCL cruise, we decided NOT to bring ANY formal wear. We figured we could just go to Topsiders that night. Well we let our servers know that we wouldn't be there for formail night and they insisted that we could just wear our regular dressy clothes. We were shocked what folks wore to the dining room for FORMAL night. The worst was the man (a dad) dressed in shorts and a t-shirt . . .LOL

So, Tom, guess as long as you have SOMETHING on more than a towel, they were let you into the dining room for FORMAL night :cool1::cool1:

Attention people of the Midwest!!!

Details of a mini meet on July 12th will be announced by Pamela(pdarrah) later today!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :dance3: :dance3: :yay: :yay: popcorn::

Midwest Mini Meet

Hi Everyone! Here is the plan...

On July 12th, about 30 miles due West of Chicago we are going to have a Mini Meet. My little town has a festival called Railroad Days (because we were the first railway junction in Illinois) On Saturday the 12th there will be a pretty good fireworks display (not Disney of course, but better than many town's 4th of July fireworks!). There is also the usual festival type stuff like a carnival, entertainment (mostly bands, some dance groups and local stuff), a small art show, a beer garden and food. The headliner concert after the fireworks is Micky Dolenz from the Monkeys.

Last year, Cheryl & John and their family came for the fireworks and we all had a great time. We thought it would be fun to invite any who would like to come this year! DH (Dan) and I are going to host a small cookout at our house before we head over to the park for the festival and fireworks. The cookout will start at 4:00 - but it will be very casual so that those who are driving in don't feel like they need to be there right on time. Come when you can and we'll throw something on the grill when you arrive! Sometime around 7pm or 8pm, we'll head over to the park (about 1 mile from my house) and stake out a spot for the fireworks. Then anyone who wants to check out the festival can do that and those who just want to sit and chat can save our spot. The fireworks are usually around 9:30pm, but I haven't seen an official time yet. The area at the park where you can see the fireworks is really large, so it never feels all that crowded.

If you are interested, send a PM to either me (pdarrah) or to Cheryl (micmse2003) and we will send all the details on exactly where/when/how this is planned!

Pamela

PM'ed you guys. Can't wait!

Let's not give Tom any ideas!:rotfl2:

A thunderstorms rolled through about an hour ago. We got some heavy ran, but north of Dertoit had some strong winds and possible tornadoes.

Wristband ordering is coming right along. Thanks to all that have placed their order!

Everyone goes to bed at a decent hour around here don't they? :rotfl2:
no one is ever up late with me! I'm the only nightowl? sigh.........

So, I'm like getting excited about the cruise but then everytime I really think about it I get kinda sad because the closer we get to the cruise- the more I think about WHEN IT'S OVER! It's gonna be a major bummer... all this waiting and once it's over- well it's over. wahhhhhhhhhhhh

Is that pathetic? to already be thinking about when it's over when it hasn't even started yet?

Thank God I'm not the only one:thumbsup2
I think Mike and I were both saying that a big part of the fun was the anticipation and planning. Once the cruise starts--it's the beginning of the end:worried:
So relieved to know I'm not the only one worried about this:)

Good Morning everyone. Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Gotta get the kids up and ready for church then I'm off to a Kenny Chesney concert later!!:cool1: :cool1:

When he sings 'Beer in Mexico' I will be thinking of TOAL!!

Penny
Sounds like fun:yay: I've grown to like country music, but I've never seen him in concert.

Happy Birthday to everyone I missed!!

We're off to play ball in the near 100 degrees :scared1:
:headache: Sounds like a gatorade day:rolleyes1

Good morning everyone!

Quick posting...off to breakfast with my sister before she heads back home and then off to church. Later today is DD Girl Scout Cookie evnt..we finally get to see Prince Caspian.

Have a great day!
Cute movie:thumbsup2 My DD took her friends to see it for her birthday.

Looks like fun:woohoo: Thanks for the pics:thumbsup2

Just a Quick hello, and sorry for my absence, was back from Disneyland Paris about a week or so back, had a great time.

Happy Birthday to all I have missed and Best wishes to anyone in bad weather, including those folks in Indiana, the floods look very bad.
Glad to have you back:goodvibes
Julie is away til next Friday, did you wait on purpose ?;)

Well...

let me begin by saying.... I do NOT mean to say having a GRAND weding and reception is any more or less desirable - or sound of judgement. As I see these "events" as wonderful and tremendously personal events. And thus subject to huge personal preferences.

Crash, DH and I were not in a position to pay for a big wedding, but our parents desperately wanted one. My parents wound up paying the bill, but let me plan everything. We had about 100 people, which was not considered very big in LI NY. However most of the people there were family and friends of our parents. The big thing was that it was interfaith. I'm Catholic and DH is Jewish. We really lucked out finding a rabbi and a priest who were very good friends and did many interfaith weddings together. Because of them, the ceremony went smoother than anyone thought possible:cloud9:
Everyone was happy in the end, which is no small miracle;)
