OK...so, for those with Disney transfers, we can only check one bag to the airport. What becomes of the second bag if we get those bags, "grandfathered" with the airline?

Hey BIP - So sorry there's been some sort of miscomunication - I sent a confirmation the first time you sent me your info and again when you PM'd me in May but I responded via PM at the tail end of May, then I posted here on the thread that you were good to go. Sorry you must of missed it. The SM will be sent out - INCLUDING the kids- by mid-June. Rest assured, there are others in your same boat. Your gifts will not be wasted.

I must have missed it here on the thread (and I checked pms too- I don't have a pm from you... even in May) but my question was about because there were posts saying emails were sent with who you have as the ones you'll be SM to and I haven't received any emails. The posts said those that signed up first have been matched up- I did send the info like way back when this first started but haven't received that email. Are you saying that info has only been sent out for ADULTS and not the kids yet?

I too have been sweating this whole baggage issue. We bought our tickets back in October '07. When AA came out with their new charges for baggage it was very confusing. There was the bought before date and also exceptions, but the exception was full-fare economy. We got the cheapest flights available so I have been concerned. Today with all of this talk of baggage, I once again checked the AA site. They have redone the baggage help section and I THINK that I am home free on the 2nd bag. Here is what the exceptions state.



The first two exceptions appear to be the ones applicable to us. Hope this helps for anyone else flighting AA.

We're flying AA and purchased before may 12th (only know that because I have the email and know I purchased the tickets BEFORE we paid in full which was before May 9th for us with our TA)- but how do we prove when we bought them? Is printing an email gonna work? Because what else would we use to prove we purchased them before May 12th? do they have that info or something?

well thank you! They used to have the little arrows thing on the thread listings before you went to the thread but that's gone now. I found that invaluable for keeping up with this thread and missed it greatly! I had no idea this option was there. I feel stupid now. LOL I wonder if it will help me find my last post though now that I've posted again? I'll try it.

Thanks Roger. I was going to call to clarify that. I have an email confirmation of the e ticket and that shows the date, so I will bring that along with the ticket.

Had to share this little tid bit today. We went to a friend's kid's birthday party this morning and when we got home the mail was here. There, right on top, is a packaged from DCL for my fiance. Remember, I'm not supposed to know anything. So I yelled "Honey, there's something here for you, but my hands are full." When he gets to the mail box he says to me "I know you're not that stupid. You saw it, didn't you?" Of course, I said I saw the Mickey and that I knew it was from some kind of vacation club type thing through Disney, but left it at that. He as so angry and bummed that I had any idea at all.

So...now I'm allowed to know that we're doing something Disney. He's trying to convince me that we're doing the Disney portion AFTER our HM. Getting the rest of our him should be easy! I'm off to pry info from him now...have a great Saturday!

With the change in age groupings, how many parents are considering having their kids "play up" in the next higher age group.

Also, has anyone heard if DCL continues this practice givenm the new groupings?

I guess I should move the 2 ten year olds who have 11 birthday on cruise up to the next bracket?

Well, I really really am hoping they cooperate with us for a "play up". Our oldest 3 are 16, 14, and 13 and are inseperable. So the new age groups cause some issues for us. DS13 will be 14 on Nov. 4th and has already been moved up a grade in school. So I am hoping it won't be a problem. But they do love the Quest area, so maybe they will all go down...

I also have a 10 turning 11 on the 3rd day of the cruise. I am guessing we will put her with the 11s to start.

Oh yeah, tornades going through downtown Milwaukee right now. We missed them by about 4 miles. More on the way, fun day here!

I am having a great time with this. I feel a little bad that I figured it out, but it's great to know too. I can pack better! I'm not sure that I can call to verify anything since it's not in my name. Every thing is booked in his and since we're not married yet, I don't think they'd give me any info. He's like a little kid before Christmas with a secret. It's so cute!

Sitting in my basement right now, waiting for the storms to blow through. Tornados and straight line winds blowing through. At least I have my laptop & wireless!

Is all well there in Madison now? We made it through the first line of storms untouched and really not a big deal. Then it was quiet for a little, now it just started POURING again..and dark again. Oh well,back to the basement with the kids...and DITTO the wireless/laptop combo appreciation!

We made it through fine with just a lot of rain. Got about 3 inches this afternoon. Looks like more rain is coming but it seems like the next batch won't be as bad. Stay safe over there! Looks like we're going to have a chance of storms for the next 24 hours.

They just said only .6 inches in Madison. Not much hit the city at all.

It seems hit and miss as to how much rain some places got. We got several inches already and another batch just ended and more are on the way (oops, just starting again). But the Kenosha area (on the Wisconsin/Illinois border) seems to have missed the storms entirely.

Glad all is well, looks like Chicago area is under the gun now too, hope our southern neighbors are safe!

Oh, just heard that a building has collapsed on the south side of Milwaukee due to rain and they closed a portion of I-94 due to flooding.

Kung Fu Panda was good. Would of rather seen Indy, but dd liked it.

All this talk of paying for the 2nd bag of luggage had me scared! So I went on NWA to see if I was grandfathered in. They are charging $100 for the second bag! So I finally found in the FAQ section, that they will honor your checking a 2nd bag if the tkts were bought before March 2008. So I printed that up, highlighted it and printed up a copy of my reciept with the jpurchase date highlighted! Don't want any nasty surprises the day DCL kicks us of the ship!

For the 7 day we have 3 large bags for the 2 of us, so was thinking the same way.

For those of you with kids issues, they do have bed liners that aren't fitted and have a soft fleece like material on one side. DD still uses goodnights, but every now and then they leak.

For the Girl Scout fun patch swap, I found out today the that Detroit council is changing the name to SE MI, so there are a bunch of patches that are on clearance for 5 cents a patch! I'll have to go check them out on my lunch hour Monday!
