Look at you! You are WICKED SMAHT!:lmao: (Really good idea!)

Gee thanks! :bitelip:

Pork wontons..could you share the recipe???

Sure!

Chrissie

Pot Stickers:
1lb ground pork
1 (9-10oz)pkg frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dried
1/4 c chopped onion
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs dark sesame oil
3 tbs minced fresh ginger
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 pkg round potsticker wrappers or square wonton wrappers

I simply fill each wrapper with a heaping tsp of mixture, moisten corners, pinch closed, lay on floured cookie sheet, deep fry a hand full at a time till golden brown. Which is why I call them pork wontons because I don't make them like potstickers. I prefer them light & crispy.

If you want to make "official" potstickers follow the instructions below:

Combine all ingredients except wrappers.
Place 1 heaping tsp filing into center of eacy wrapper, lightly moisten outside edge of wrapper with a bit of water. Fold wrapper in half to enclose filling, pinching center and each end to make a tight seal. Holding wonton in hand, seal remaining edges, pinching dough towards center, forming a couple of small pleats. Press sealed edge down lightly to plump up dumpling and make it stand up straight.
Place dumpling in rows of baking sheet so they don't touch. Heat a 10 in nonstick skillet over medium high heat until hot. Add 1 tbs of vegetable oil; heat until hot. Place 12 potstickers in skillet (packing them tightly is fine). Cook with disturbing 1 to 2 mins or until bottoms are pale golden brown.
Add 1/2 c of water around sides of skillet; immediately cover, cook 8 mins. Uncover; cook 1 to 2 mins, shaking skillet gently to prevent sticking. When water has evaporated and potstickers are crispy brown, place, bottom side up on platter. Repeat with remaining potstickers, added additional oil as needed. Serve hot or warm with sauce for dipping.

Sometimes I make the following sauce or if I'm lazy I just serve with low sodium soy sauce:

Ginger-Soy Sauce:
1/4 c soy sauce
3 tbs white wine vinegar
1 tbs minced fresh ginger
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp dark sesame oil

Just a drive by posting...hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

We just finished recycling (we have been collecting for a few months - bad idea!) 2200 items but tooks us over 2 hours. It's very crowded here on Saturdays to recycle. DD is getting washed up and getting ready for our next adventure...we are returning the school books we rented for her homeschooling and then off to a double birthday party. Then home for a bit and off to dinner...will try and ketchup when we are back from the birthday party.

Have a great afternoon. :yay:

Well, I'm Wiially tired right now and I didn't even make it to chat last night. After all the Wii Fit talk on here, I went out and got a Wii and Wii Fit. Was supposed to arrive on Wednesday night, but I was at my niece's choir recital. Then had to go visit them on Thurs because I can't remember why, just because. So Ijust set the Wii up last night and was up till 11pm playing. I can see myself getting addicted to it! Was realy impressed by the system and the games/activites. A teeny bit sore today though I guess that's a good thing.

So I am DISing through my nieces dance recital right now. It started a 1pm and there are 40 performances. My nieces are #25 and we're only on #16. It's going to be a long afternoon!!

Happy birthday to the June 2 b'days, and to Jay today . . . today (June 3) was my oldest daughter's 16th birthday, and I just came back from taking a bunch of teenagers to see Rent . . . I keep thinking today about how her birthday really represents the time that I stopped being the center of my own life . . . I'm not sure anything changes your life like becoming a parent, really.
.

I'm sorry to have missed everyone these past few days. But - happy belated wishes to all who are marking special occassions! I have to go now - got a day and evening at the beach today and tomorrow - or half a day at beach tomorrow followed by a sunset hike in the local hill with a band of wacky local friends. Hope everyones' weekend is safe and pleasant! ::yes::
pirate: 'ing (knew we could count on Diane for :cake: )
HAPPY B'DAY SHELLA

BTW - as I kept getting older (and older!!) I became philosophical about Birthdays - they are simply a wonderful excuse to get together w/friends and loved ones and PARTY!!!!

Thank you...and I agree....then again I would make up reasons to get together with family and friends to party!!:thumbsup2

Someone once told me having a child was like letting your heart walk outside your body:hug:

What a beautiful thought!

Pausing to reflect on this sort of warmed my "inside" and made my day!

Thank You!

So I'm sitting here at 2:00 in the morning being forced to watch Tranformers. Been trying to upload pictures to photobucket but for some crazy reason - it won't allow me too. Does anyone know if there is a limit on photos in an album? I can think of no other reason than reaching my limit, problems with the server or photobucket itself having problems. Maybe I should just go to sleep and tri it again in the morning.

BTW, I guess the movie isn't that bad. DS can't stop drooling over the girl, he knows all her stats and has been drooling at her all night long. Typical man-child!

transformers.gif

As for your drooling son ... I'm sure he's not the only red blooded boy out there doing the same.

Last nite we saw Narnia again - and I was mildly amazed howe a trio of teenaged girls were "gushing" over how the older narnia queen girl kissed Prince Caspian at the end. It was hilarious - then I paused to reflect on how I had two girls too. Then I sobered up.

meganfox00.jpg

I don't know Crash - I kinda like it - he has some killer eyelashes - do you know what women will go thru just to get them lashes?

I can ONLY imagine in reply here,....

Ummm......I have a question? Is it possible for a dog to get high on cough drops? I called the vet after discovering that SOMEHOW Isis had gotten into a cough drop. So I called the vet and they said she would be ok. That was at 5 pm. THen right now - someone discovered that she was sleeping something off. Dang dog - she must of hid them somewhere - Darn it!

Guess we have to follow the paper trail to the evidence.

LAURA, LAURA, LAURA....

What-ever are we gonna do with the likes of you on our cruise with your "PET CARE" issues.....

New Repo toy.....

Last year I piced up one of the Olympus Stylus 770 SW cameras onboard the Magic. It is waterproof to 33ft w/o any special case, and 7.1mp.

Yesterday I went and picked up it's big brother the 1030 SW (now DW/DD can take pics @ the snorkle trips too)

stylus1030SWfront-001.jpg

Other than being 10.1mp and having a slightly larger screen, the two cameras are about the same size & features.

Now I just need to pick up a new Canon Point & Shoot which can do time lapse pics for when we're in the locks :hyper:

Andy

Well... unlike this image above... I will be coveting your TWO Olympus digicams. I want one - either one -
- but I also wanna get a super-duper BARGAIN in the process too.

I am in the market for a new camera too! My little "throw it in the purse" point and shoot is at the end of its career with me. I looked around at Best Buy and I don't even know where to start. My DH has a nice camera that we use for the important stuff.

I want one that will take decent pictures.

It needs to be rugged enough to survive, well, to survive me.

Small enough to drop in my purse. But it doesn't need to be crazy small.

Waterproof, I can't decide if that is neccesary.

ETA: Fun colors are nice too!!!!

Any ideas?

PS, I saw the coolest camera, you point it at whoever you want and when they smile, it automatically takes the picture. SO COOL. Having 2 teenage boys, that might be the one for me, then when they accidentally smile, I will have proof!

I saw a COOLER CAMERA... check this one out!

Just wanted to stop by to say hi after lurking and reading for the past few days. We will be joining all of you on the EB Repo on our honeymoon (getting married the day before we all leave :bride:!).

I'm not sure what I'm more excited for: the wedding that I've been planning for 6 months already or the cruise that I just figured out we're going on (shhh....it's supposed to be a surprise!). We'll see you in a few months!

Congratulations!

I don't know which if these might apply...

< wink >

Thanks for all the congrats everyone!

We live in sunny San Diego and are getting married here on 8/16/08. Then we'll drive up to LA to meet all of you at port. My name is Jen, by the way.

Jen...

Yes, I am the one who's supposed to be surprised. He's planning the entire thing. Here are the hints I got and how I figured it out:
1. Wardrobe needed: poolside, beach wear, casual, semi-formal, and at least one formal outfit (the formal is what started we wondering about a cruise)
2. We will be on both sea and land
3. We will have an ocean view
4. We leave the day after the wedding and return Labor Day
5. We leave LA around 4p
and the clincher
6. He received a piece of mail from DCL that he was VERY concerned I hadn't seen.

So of course, being the girl that I am and wanting to have at least some idea for my sanity, I went to the DCL site, and figured out that there is only one cruise leaving 8/17 out of LA this year. Mystery solved and now I get to continue to be annoyed that I don't know, pester him daily with some comment about not knowing anything, and pretend to be surprised when we show up a the terminal in August.:lovestruc

Reading this stirs memories of a certain image in my mind....

Lucy_CharlieBrown-776840.gif

Good for you! You are being a very great person for pretending you don't know. It is probably more fun knowing and not letting him know you know. Yanno?

He is a lucky man and I can't wait to meet you guys and congratulate you both!

And people think I am suspiciously INNOCENT....

.... I think this level of sneakiness trumps ANY pretense to INNOCENCE...

.. pretending NOT to know .. fooling your new spouse .... gee, I always KNEW the ladies were the "better half" ...

.. I guess this is all part of ALL that, eh?

Congratulations! Wow, I wish someone would TRY to surprise me like that - I would probably figure it out, but the thought would be awesome!

Best wishes for a happy marriage!

I'd like to ECHO this setiment. I think the last time I had a bona-fide surprise was some 8-10 plus years ago before my kids were born. Oooohh, wait a minute ... I DID have a surprise in there 8 years ago when my spouse was exicitedly screaming for me to run over when she was in the bathroom to infomr me she was pregnant with our 1st child! THAT was a real surprise of sorts because at that point we had completely given up on having any kids of our own after trying unsuccessfully for several years. We were, in fact, more or less preparing to adopt a child at that time too.

Hi Christopher I actually have 3 of the tours already, I am waiting on 3 additional to be priced out and I will post them at the same time. :)

And I've booked one of the tour shuttles too. My group has the bus chartered for what I presume is a better price. I'm still hammerring out the agenda but the $29.50 one seems to be the longer more extenzive option. I'm interested in doing more with him if it's an option.

So I am DISing through my nieces dance recital right now. It started a 1pm and there are 40 performances. My nieces are #25 and we're only on #16. It's going to be a long afternoon!!

I was at DDs music recital Thursday night and we had to sit in the bleachers, which after a while is hard on the back:headache:

Hope you have a chair with a back;)

Hey Mike,
DD Lori is allergic to dairy and on our last cruise - they prepared special food for her - including breads & pancakes and she met w/head server every day to plan her meals. It was wonderful. She could eat w/out worry!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thaty's great to hear! Thanks!

I'm still waiting for DCL to send the info on Tux rental. You got yours early because of the vow renewal right:confused3
Did you order through a website ?
I absolutely don't want to have to pack formal attire for the boys-- we barely have enough room for the princess stuffprincess:

We got our info on the tux rental with our cruise planning packets several months ago. If you didn't get your packets, contact DCL or your TA and request a second one. Here is the website for the tux rental people here - you can order them right off of their site as well. The only thing is the prices listed on the site are for 7 night cruises - I think it was about $10 more for our cruise.

I see Lorri answered right away. That's the website that we ordered through. It's also the same one that they tell you about in the Mickey Mail. I'm guessing that's the only one that delivers to and picks up from the ship.

I want to get the Wii Fit too. I heard it's a lot of fun!

Our DD's dance recital is in a couple weeks, and i thought 31 dances was going to be a lot to sit through. 40?!?!?:scared1:

The Wii is a blast. Even my 60-something yo mother got on and had fun.

We're finally at intermission. Only another 90 minutes to go. And out of this 3 hour recital, my nieces will dance for 3-4 minutes. I hope we're going to a pub for dinner after this. Thankfully it's in a nice concert hall / auditorium so they're decent seats with backs, but I really need to stretch out my WiiSore Muscles.

Wii Fit update. Well our Wii Fit arrived Weds and its addictive - worse that Wii Sports. For some strange reason it thinks my Wii Age is either 37 or 40 (either of which I'll take as I slide further from 40 and closer to 50).

Back to magnet making.....

Andy

I think the date was well after January. I couldn't find anything specific on their website (I think it was a couple months ago) so I sent an email to customer service. The reply is very clear and I plan to bring it with on the trip.

I'm aiming for having 4 checked bags for the 3 of us - DH thinks I'm nuts and it will be more like 5 or 6 :faint:

Pamela

Pamela, my reply from Travelocity was no help. They just ignored my question and cut and pasted the current charges into their reply:headache:

I'm still waiting to hear from AirTran. Do you have a name at customer service that I can contact in case they give me a hard time ?

If you have it in writing, bring it with you. I was told by Airtran the exact opposite, no grandfathering of existing tickets. After xxx date, all second checked bags will be charged. But they are one of the lowest in the industry ($15??)

Somehow I missed Lorri's response, thanks to both of you:worship:

Gotta get the boys measured:thumbsup2

Everyone who purchased tickets prior to their airlines charging for the second bag that is being "grandfathered" in should bring proof of when they purchased their tickets with them to check in just in case. I've heard from some that they had issues until they pulled out their proof.

:faint: I can't believe they have the all scheduled at the same time!! Where my kids take classes they only schedule recitals in groups of 8 - 10classes. With an hour or two break in between - enough time to clear the first group and get the second group in and ready.
I was so glad when they changed to this a few years ago....we used to have to sit through everyone like that! The grandparents & Aunts/Uncles were refusing to come anymore. :lmao: Heck, I didn't want to watch all of them! :rotfl2:

hhhmmm.....I may have to get this and try to get a younger age, too! :rotfl: Knowing my luck it will say I'm 50! :rotfl2:
