That's what I just asked on the pirate zone . . . I thought we were still in the planning stages, but Todd's post here made me think I might have missed the actual ordering stage . . .

We got 3 excursions, and are hoping that 2 more open up. Our problem is that there isn't a whole lot that we can do with a 18mo old!

Yeah, we found that to be a problem too. We'll have a 3 1/2 yo and a 15 month old so not much to choose from.

My custom bobble head doll of Alicia is shipping via fedEX today! Now ... some folks have met Alicia - so MUMS the word! It's a surprise for Alicia which I'll give on the cruise - maybe during an anniversery thing at dinner. You suppose she will be surprised and turn beet red or what?

And I am not sure but I think I might be joining the Captains Dining rotation with my gang of cut-throat buccaneers .... that is IF space can be found for my party. And I'm told there is enuf space. She is getting the idea of the amount we will need but the more we order the much cheaper we will be if we get to over 500!!!!

Oh, I just ordered 3 books by Ms. Meyer for DD14, she is finishing one right now and actually asked me to get her another one by the same author. I think it is the first time she has ever ASKED for a book. She is not very much like DS16...she would rather talk to anyone and everyone that would listen to her...she gets that from hmmmmm, oh yeah, her mother...

The new one is coming out in August. My DD13 loved them as well. For that matter, I read them all too, and loved them! They are great books and set in our part of the world. I guess that tourism is really up in Forks, WA! There really isn't that much there, though.

You can create a badge but have to get it approved by a Council..I am not sure how long that takes..I can check into it if you would like. But...wether we try and create a badge or not..I can find a patch..I would just need to know in advance how many girls we have..and I can order from there. The girls who are Brownies...we can also work on a Try-it for them and they can earn the same patch by participating too.

Just let me know if there is any interest in the patch and I will see what I can find out. As for the badges...I am happy to help if needed.

DD is going to try for her world friend or maybe it's called world travel;ler. I guess tho' our badges are called something different to yours

Celestine, you reminded me the girls from the US could potentially earn a Girl Guide badge and your daughter could earn a Girl Scout badge. For the US girls the earned UK badge would need to go on the back of the sash or vest. Not sure how it would work for the girls from the UK, but I imagine they could earn a Girl Scout badge.

I have no daughter at all, but I work for a Girl Scout council. I think it is great that you want to allow the girls to work on badges while on the cruise.

I would be interested in one of the patches if you put something together. Just let me know how much it costs. I have a patch blanket and collect patches from all over.

Is anyone interested in a fun patch swap? You would bring patch(es) to swap with others from your council or local area to exchange with others. I am from Pennsylvania so I might bring Philadelphia fun patches to swap with others. If you are interested in a patch swap please send me a PM.

I notice we seem to have quite a few young girls that are bridging from Brownies to Juniors this year! (mine included!) I was wondering if any of them would be interested in maybe trying to earn a Junior badge while on board. I would be willing to put it all together and run it. I haven't looked throufgh the book yet to see if there is an appropriate one, but I bet we could find something!

Caropooh, my DD is going into 2nd year of cadettes and I was wondering if we could find something they could do. She is working on her travel badge while we are planning this trip. Maybe I'll check out the website and see if there are any special patches or anything. Is your older DD a GS?

I preordered that one as well, I don't remember if it will be here before the cruise though...given that we are taking a 48 hour train ride to LA, it would be fantastic if she got it before we left!

I was reading some Olympic info today and jotted down the dates for anybody who loves the olympicgames (like me!) and needs to pack any "go team USA" stuff!

Opening Ceremonies Aug 8 - closing ceremonies Aug 24 (sea day prior to PC)
I don't remember hearing that the Olympics were starting on the infamous 08-08-08!

Well, off to my rotation site. I am learning, but it kills me that I have to pay thousands of dollars to the school so that I can go and work for free somewhere. Luckily, i'm not afraid to ask questions, so I'm trying to make the most of it and learn whatever I can.

The Pirate Palo Brunch was just being booked individually around 10:30am on 8/24, and we were going to request to be near each other. Problem is, not too many people could get that time, but maybe once on board?

There is a wench's tea being organized for one of the sea days. If you want to be included you need to PM Grandma x3.

Also when I called yesterday I asked if the CM had heard any of the complaints about Acapulco. He said no and said to check the DisBoards . I told him that's where I was reading the complaints.

Maybe they should be reading....hmmmm?

We're huge Olympic junkies. Our next TOAL is Vancouver 2010. We hope to get to the summer Olympics someday as well. I wouldn't trade this trip for anything, but I'm disappointed that we will be missing so much.

Oh and if anyone is looking for me...I will be perched in front of DCL's TVs during the men's 8 rowing and all men's butterfly swimming events. Esteri is likely to be right next to me, right?

Sorry to yell, but I just want to let you know about a concern that has been brought to my attention regarding the Kid's thread. Apparently there is a lot of emails &/or IM accts. being given out so the kids can talk to each other, which is great, but some parents would like to be sure that the kids they are talking to are actually one of our children & not some loony toons! Is there a way we can keep track? One suggestion was to keep a list of the adult user names that correspond with the kid's on the Pirate Discussion website (which I'd be glad to keep track of) or we could have them put OUR user names in their signatures. What do you all think? Any ideas?

I found this cute patch and we can get it changed to a different wording...cost would depend on the amount of girl participating but any age can wear it on their vest. It could be given out for paticipating in the badge event onboard as well as help them earn a badge or part of a badge...

I would have to order these in the next week or so to make sure they come in on time.
