Just a friendly reminder for all the princesses to check in on the list of participants thread on the Pirate Zone. We want to be sure to provide everyone participating with a little trinket (or two :rolleyes1 ). Signing up is not mandatory, but if you don't sign up, we can't deliver anything to you. Also, for those with no quite adult princesses, we have a few of those too, so if you want you DDs listed as well, please post there.

Umm . . was reading the threads about the Princess night. Gotta talk with DH to see what thinks about the only princess in our family wearing a tiara. I was amazed at the variety on eBay. It sounds like a fabulous idea!

Ok Salem is out but Williamsburg - probably will do. Jamestown we will be passing on - I need more time in the Smithsonians!

Williamsburg is great, but Jamestown is worth a half day just to see it. There is lot of interactive activities. They really did it up nicely for the 400th anniversary. There is something about being in the place where the first colony worked out AND it was more than 400 years ago. That said, it's a different animal than the Smithsonians.

And yes, we live about 20 min away. . . from W'burg and Busch Gardens. Let us know if you're coming our way . . if we're in town, we'd love to meet up.

Enjoy!

Well another late night searching for things like tiaras on eBay and trying to find something tropical for me to wear . . .talked DH into a mono tropical shirt. Gotta get organized (like the rest of you!) . . . headed to the homeschool Convention in Richmond, VA this weekend. Have to figure out what books we need for next year . . .

Have a wonderful night

Tom I saw this for you and could not resist!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hi Gang,
About to turn in - busy weekend - FAB meet w/Desiree & family - DGS Matt is still talking about Tori.

This week is too busy - but will check in when I can - And post update on DL to Port Bus!!

Monica - you know your Dad is in my prayers (your're always in my prayers)

Lisa - Kick Add!!!!!

Oh - had a hard time getting ketchup'd - so I'm sure I'm missing a bunch!!

Never done anything like it, but we wanted to do the ziplining and this was only $15 more a person. Sounded like a lot of fun!

That one sounded fun because of the variety of activities--I wonder if the zipline segment is shorter than the zipline-only one though?

Anyway, at this point it's moot for me, as all the zipline-included excursions have been sold out since I've been able to book. I was hoping some would open up today, but no dice.

Hi Doreen,
I actually got the family to Kohls today to try and get those sandals, but no luck:worried:
The Everest sandals were very nice but didn't fit our feet well enough. Since getting my family to shop is a rare occasion, we went next door to the sporting goods store and found sandals that fit our feet. Keens for everyone but DS. His feet were wide and short and were hard to fit:confused3
Wound up getting him some crocs instead (don't tell Todd:rolleyes1 ).
I'm glad I got them now, cause usually I'm searching for things like this after the stores have been picked over so much we can't find our size.

Thanks for the info- it helped get the shopping for sandals out of the way:woohoo:

Lori, glad I was abe to help..see when you tell family members it shopping for them. they are in the car waiting.

I just got up at 330am to let the dogs out and the computer was calling me. Did anyonehave the same problem we had at 90 days out? The system was working fine or me. Still no PALO for my anniversary though:(

eeyorelvr10 just a fyi... The museum of American history is closed until Labor day They have about 100 of the artifacts in the Museum of Space so you can still see some of them. We did the whole DC, and then to Williamsburg last summer. If you do go to DC call your Congressman and try to get tickets to the Capital or the White house. We did DC in 1.5 days. it was alot. but worth it for the history alone.

mostly the folks in chat were hoping for more Palo ressies, but as you all found out, nothing is avail

Todd is trying for a different time for Dolphins in Cabo, but nothing there either.

I don't think they opened any new slots for anyone.

I know :( I stayed up just in case, only because other posters were told that additional reservations would be released...I wish the Disney CM's could get their storys straight....

I was told that no new reservations would be added which I think is crappy for the ones who have never cruised before. As for Palo, they do not book any tables over 4 online, that has to be done on the ship.

I read on another thread that they book the Palo room for large parties at the 30 day mark. Sometimes they cancel the reservations of people who booked into the larger group, sometimes they don't (essentially allowing two reservations). Checking at the 29 or 30 day mark is worth a try.
Definitely worth a try.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it's getting to the ship later than I'd like. On the other hand, my understanding is we'll be doing check-in at the hotel, so by the time we get there we should be able to just walk on the ship.

Plus, the later departure makes for an extra early morning in the park....

If you are staying at a DL hotel and have transfers through Disney, yes, you will be able to check in at GC and will get your KTTW card just before getting on the shuttle.

You will love Stephanie.............she talks more than I do. So when you meet me in July.............you will say that is impossible!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The Outdoor Adventure in Puerto Vallarta is still available (I just checked).

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to all we have missed

Have a great Tuesday

We had problems.... i was locked out. Finally able to get in and brunch was gone.... that's all we wanted. I figue we will be on the ship already so we'll have a good spot in line to try and get one...

That's a good point! I'm sure you saw on the other thread that no one there who posted was able to get brunch on that one sea day . . .

So you all be hoping I get my Private bruch and I know for sure there will be at least 3 reservations opening up for brunch!!!:hyper: :hyper:

Exactly, Chris also has a bunch of us booked into a private room if she is able to get it, and I think most if not all of us have backup Palo brunch reservations that we will need to cancel.

Sounds like another 'hassle free' night for TOAL. :(

DS11 would so covet the real space shuttle tile. He was car sick when we tried to visit KSC. I had to drive him back to the hotel.

That's a bummer he missed it. I still want a shuttle tile.

just googled myself. Nothin' incriminating there.

Good thing you use an alias here.

Loved the trip report. Sounds much like our experience. It was super cool, we saw all the things you did. Although our real astronaut did have a line. We were able to get a picture with him anyway.

I had planned the trip already, but then DS's school announced a science fair. They hadn't done them for a few years. I urged DS to do something about space shuttles knowing he would have a great way to do some research. He loved the trip.

Then fast forward a few years and I surprised him with a week at Space Camp in Huntsville. He's gone twice now. He has wanted to be an astronaut since the Columbia disaster. Odd that such a disaster would make him want to do that job? I've done whatever I could to encourage this dream. He's held on to it for 5 years now. For a kid his age to have a consistent dream like that, I figure he's pretty into it.

Wow, he must be into it, that's great. I'd love to send the boys to spcase camp when they are old enough.

My sister asked for one when the surgeon was repairing a botched hysterectomy (sp?). The surgeon actually told her he would do approve all the paperwork if she seriously wanted one. He was the head of the surgery dept I think. They did a bad job on her. She had to have 2 follow up suregeries and wear a colostopy (sp?) bag for 3 months!

That is terrible. Which was botched? The hysterectomy or the tummy tuck?
Is she OK now?

How big would my coj***s have to be to pull that stunt off ?:rotfl2:

It's not so much the size, it's what they are made of that matters in this situation.

Speaking of jewels - does anyone want to see my candy I got in PV and Cabo? Just to give anyone ideas out there that is! ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

::yes::

Fun Trip report day! My DS and DH got to see a live shuttle launch in 2001, we were lucky to be on our first WDW trip and I found out there was a launch!!! Since our oldest was very interested in those types of things and was 9, DH took him to Cape Canaveral while my parents and I watched the launch from the Carribean Beach resort pool with the other kids! It was very very awesome for us as the staff let us know where to watch for the shuttle and a lifetime experience for them.

On a sad note, we were in Tampa at Busch Gardens in Spring 2004 on our way to a relaxing vacation on Sanibel Island and we were waiting to hear the shuttle go overhead on its way home and we never heard it, we then heard from a security guard that it never landed and was most likely destroyed. A very vivid life memory for me...we were so sad!

Shuttle launch is really one of the coolest things I've ever seen. DH's friend hooked us up and we were in a great location at KSC.

I was on a field trip to PA with a college yearbook staff when Columbia broke up.

You mean there are *budgets* for vacations.....:confused3 I'm so confused by that word!!! In most things DH and I are not big spenders....but....when it comes to Disney.... the sky seems to be the limit! :rotfl:

I refer to it as a futile exercise of assigning categories to large amount of money, just for fun.

Good for DS! We live about 10-15 minutes from the Johnson Space Center here in Houston so, as you can imagine, the space program is a very big deal around here. We have many friends and neighbors who work out at NASA. As a matter of fact, a neighbor two doors down is an astronaut. He's been up 3 times (once as the mission commander) and I think he's scheduled to go up again later this year in October.

Kim

So far you are leading the coolest neighbor contest.

No, you need a plastic surgeon for the tummy tuck. The OBGYN is just pleased if they manage to put you back together without a humongous scar:confused3

yeah, that didn't turn out so well.

You can create a badge but have to get it approved by a Council..I am not sure how long that takes..I can check into it if you would like. But...wether we try and create a badge or not..I can find a patch..I would just need to know in advance how many girls we have..and I can order from there. The girls who are Brownies...we can also work on a Try-it for them and they can earn the same patch by participating too.

Just let me know if there is any interest in the patch and I will see what I can find out. As for the badges...I am happy to help if needed.

We'd be interested in doing a Try-It!

I called the concierge regarding Acapulco...

We are booked on the City Tour with Cliff Divers. I have read so many negative reviews I was prompted to call and see if they would be making any changes before the EB.

I was on hold for a long time while the concierge checked with the excursion manager. She reported back that they have not heard negative reviews and are not planning any changes at this time. I believe she was sincere. I politely suggested she read these boards.... Perhaps they do not have the comment cards from the WB yet? :confused3

I'm going to hang tight for now and continue to think about it.... I wouldn't be so conflicted if my littlest guys were not so little (ages 3 and 1.5).

We were thinking of cancelling but my DH said no just keep it.. We are not there for a long time.. we have been there before but mil and fil have not and it will be a way for them to see a different side of things..

I totally agree!!! My husband was starting to freak out about how much the whole trip was going to cost (even though I have most of it saved in a CD that comes due TODAY) so I told him I was going to put together a budget that covered everything and I would stay within the limits. That seemed to make him feel much better!!! Then I put him on a monthly budget that includes his haircuts (he pays way too much in my opinion and you can't even tell that he got a haircut...I told him he is not like Matt Lauer and it is okay for us to notice that he got a haircut!!!) lunches out etc. That didn't got over very well when he had to start keeping track :stir: :stir: So I think I won my battle!!! :rolleyes1
