I wish you could all be over to smell the CAKE I have baking right now . . . it's my youngest daughter Meredith's 11th birthday! Her friends are coming over at 1 for pizza (ordered in) and cake (chocolate cake with chocolate icing) and then are going downstairs to our nail place for manicure and pedicures . . .

It's the "birthday season" here -- my oldest daughter turns 16 on Tuesday. (So more cake -- hurray!) When she was younger my middle daughter (whose birthday is in October) would always get sad at this point, seeing both her sisters have parties and get presents. I think it's easier now that she is 13, but when she was younger it just killed her. She is a violinist, and when much younger her teacher was trying to get her to play something with more expression -- and it should be sad -- so she was asked to think about the saddest thing she could imagine and play thinking of that, and what she picked was the week both her sisters had birthdays!

Happy Birthday to your daughters!

...Dh has gone off for the day to San Diego for a conference and DD is still sleeping..I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and bored..so I thought I would post some pirate jokes....

What do you call a pirate that skips class?
Captain Hooky!

Why does a pirate's phone go beep beep beep beep beep?
Because he left it off the hook!

What does a pirate say when he takes over santa's job?
Ho Ho Ho and a bottle of rum

What's a pirate's second-choice job?
An arrrrrrchitect!

Why don’t pirates get carpal tunnel syndrome?

Because they practice … Arrrgghonomics.

There was another one that I am glad I wasn't drinking my coffee when I read it but it wasn't PC..so I left it..:lmao:

If you do it from instant transfers from bank accounts their is normally no fees

Yeah there's only a charge (I think) if you do the business account.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Uhm I think their mommys can still recognize them...

I just went in and edit to read countdown calender....:rotfl: :rotfl2:

That is so me! LOL! If it can't be bought online I;m pretty sure nobody needs it. ;)

I am sure the tiaras will be back in stock soon. It's just been Prom season so, I am sure that is why they are out!

Coral, dd used to work at the AT @ Stone Briar. :rotfl:

LOL
I'm the same way EXCEPT for clothes for myself because I gotta try that stuff on! LOL Which I hate to do... which is why I don't have much clothes that fit me right now...... :confused3

Everyone that was talking about the cliff divers. I'm wondering if we should cancel and see if DH can finally get in some scuba diving that day even though it's a short time there- but now I'm worried the ship is gonna be crowded with everyone staying on the ship. Doesn't the ship like NOT have much planned for people to do when they are at port? I mean I know they have tons of activities on sea days and stuff- but if they don't have much for people to do when they are at the ports of call..... and if not, we're all gonna be wandering around or at the pool? I'm not fond of the idea of crowded ship with nothing to do either...

As a norm..when a ship (any ship) is in Port..there are less scheduled things to do...We will still go ashore..haven't cancelled the excursion yet so are unsure what we are doing. Obviously won't be a good day for laundry! :)

Trying to discern the workings of the wizards in revenue management is as challenging as interpreting the mystic ramblings of the Oracle of Delphi.

Do they assign cabins based on the inscrutable working of super-computers, endlessly pondering the image of Mickey swimming?

Do they use the same Bingo callers who later appear on the ship holding the hope of thousands of dollars, which ultimately ends up in the hands of some stranger, the subject if whispered tails for the remainder of the cruise?

Or do they listen to the blessings of the employees from the fairy-godmother department, bestowing upgrades on the worthy and deserving?

We supplicants must resign ourselves to living with the mystery, waiting until the day that they will touch our reservation, remove our GTY status, and grant us a "home" on the ship....
:worship:

As I understand it - this is how its' done....

But Crash you missed the most important rock image for us wenchs....

"THE ROCK"

OK, here's my semi-formal attire....

How many of you ladies have talked your Better Halfs into wearing a "Monkey Suit"?
Kevin says he will if he won't stick out like a sore thumb.

I almost always pack my BLACK and WHITE "Monkey Suits".... especially for these 7 day or longer voyages.

I may leave the oscar behind this time - seeing as how the airlines wanna ding us for totin' too much gear.

caught-in-the-rain.gif

See..there is my problem..I have only been to CC once out of 2 cruises and even that one had issues. The first attempt..Hurricane and no CC! (our cruise changed ports and everything - some honeymoon!) and the 2nd attempt..pouring pouring pouring rain! We did snorkel a little but in the end..everyone went back on board...no BBQ or anything open that day!

I'm sorry to hear your luck was so marginal on your last two voyages. Alas, you know what some say - that thrice rings true to charm! So maybe this upcoming visit to Castaway Caye will more than make up for the last two marginalized visits.

AnimRain.gif

Thanks Crash.I will give it some thought and talk with DH. I am also worried about how we are gonna pack everything in just a few suitcases so as to avoid the cost of the 2nd bag charge that the airlines are charging. When I am on vacation I don't do laundry but this time...........

... [ed]...

LOVE Costco Pizza!

...[ed]....

Sue, just do it! At the very least - pack the FE and bring a FEW things for your nearest DIS neighbors or a few folks you kabbitz with most on the cruise. OR... go to Costco and pickup a box of candy bars - and bring sticky mailing address labels already made out / printed that say .. Have a wonderful voyage from your DIs neighbor Msaseifert [IE SUE, Mike, Alexs & Ashton]" ... or edit out childrens' names and sub "DDs". I am still uncertain as to what I'll pack as FE extras - and I'm uncertain as to how many I'll bring - but since I'm not flying to meet the ship - I'll probably pack a bunch since ... I can. But no one else is really REQUIRED to do so - especially with the new baggage expenses - plus the burdon of bringing as much as we can to comfortably survive 15 nites embarked!

Still - go ahead and JUST DO IT! Or else.... < wink > ;)

I gotta go now... I have a charitable auction luncheon to atend - then a long birthday party with old OLD friends. TOmorrow we have a double beach day - a visit early in the morning thru lunch - then another B_day party followed by a return to the beach for a sunset fire on the sand - with BBQ if I can get my new grill our and prepped properly.

I'm gonna be using my new Sony DVD Camcorder with my deep discount imported Chinese battery! I am sooo pleased with my bargain rig - I gotta get it into action ASAP! And this weekend is the first occassion!

Sony-DCR-DVD108-VCR.jpg

And for the record - I am dilligently trying to catch up - and reading / skimming through every posting ... alas, I am pretty far back though... and using the multi-quote to good effect in my KETCHUP efforts.

You never know, I just saw this new excursion posted for Acapulco:

Acapulco Cheer and Tide
Cast off to one of Acapulco's most practical destinations - Lavanderia de Acapulco, this fabled city's largest laundromat. Snap a picture of the seemingless endless rotation as your clothes dries by the sun-kissed sands and glistening ocean water of a nearby beach.
During your visit, pull up a cozy bench and listen to the soothing rumbling of your own personal washing machine as it soothes the dirt away from your grimey clothing. Marvel at the sights and colors of the native garb, as it is pulled dripping from the maws of the rinse cycle.
Finally, after three hours of exotic cleanliness, sit back, realax, and surrender to the picturesque sights once more as you begin your scenic 10 minute trip back to the ship.
Port of Call :Acapulco
Activity Type: Dirt & Grime
Activity Level: Active
Duration: Endless
Price: Adult $56 (ages 10 and up)
Child $49 (Ages 2-9)
Ages: 2 and Up
Additional Information:
  • Enough coins for one wash and one dryer is included. Additional coins are available at added cost.
  • One box of Tide or Cheer detergent will be provided. Additional detergent is available at added cost.
  • A Hershey bar or local equivalent will be provided.
  • This excursion is stroller accessible.
  • Guests must be in good physical condition to participate in the laundry portion of this excursion due to the need to race for machines and occasionally pummel other individuals who, in their race to grab a machine, pull your clean clothes from the dryer and drop it on the dirty floor.
  • Guests are encouraged to bring cash or credit cards to purchase optional extras, such as coins, detergent, fabric softener, and a picture that will be taken of you with your washer or dryer.
  • Due to limited availability, Guests are encouraged to book early.
