OK ladies...formal shopping...
Am I the only one who can't find anything between skanky and frumpy??
I'm too old for one, too young for the other & regardless, my style is firmly planted between the two. :)

I'm wearing a dress I already have (and love) for Princess Night, but I'm looking for another. I stopped in David's Bridal today and found 2 that were decent on me. What do you think? Too bridesmaid??

Sorry, one comes out a photo & the other doesn't, but the link works. I look decent in this color and it goes with sunburn! I love red, but doesn't work with cruise sunburn.

I like number 2 dress..............I don't have the body for it!!!:sad2: :sad2:

This is just a public service announcement for anyone who might be flying back via Southwest on the 1st. Since we only booked two weeks ago, I was still working on flights. Southwest is the only one that offers me a direct flight after 8 am. The price over the past two weeks kept going up from Orlando and tonight I was just going to book at the highest rate (I thought because it was Labor Day) and the flight went down nearly $50 per person. So, you may want to check if any of the other Orlando flights went down for that day!
Now we had our flights on SW go the other way! We booked last Thursday night for Sept 1 from MCO to Seattle. It's flight changing planes in
Albequerque (sp). We paid 135.00 each, I just checked today and it's up to 260.00 per person! :scared1: I was amazed!

Thank you! It's because they all look like DH! ;)
LOL
My kids were all the same way! But the eldest is starting to look more like me- or rather she looks more and more like my MOM every day and *I* look like my mom so by default she sorta starting to look like me (but more like my mom- does that make sense? LOL)
but when they were young- ALL of them look like their daddy, thank goodness. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

The older two aren't coming this time -- we were thinking a couple of days ago about adding them (a Cat 9 for 2 A was doable) but, oldest DS won't be able to take the time off of work since we have him using all of his vaca time to go in July with his sister to Korea/Austraila with our church -- 2 wks total.
I told Dh I didn't think we could afford the bar bill for the 3 of them on a 15nt cruise!!! The 10 was high enough! :rotfl:

DH is wishing now that he would have been willing to get a Cat 2 because then we could just add 24dd to our room.... Oh, well. She is meeting us in WDW after the cruise!!! :yay: :yay:
Ohhh, so just the younger ones huh?

Hello to all the Pirates,
I am not sure if DW Caropooh has posted this or not, but we are coming too.
Last Sunday we noticed some availability and even though we had lots of problems on the site, we called DCL directly and were able to snag a GTY Cat 5.

your new shipmates are:
Me alanapapa
Caropooh DW
DD14 Disname tba
DD9 Disname tba.

We have some excursions booked, Palo Dinner, could not get a Palo Brunch.

We have late dining and have not found anyone to link with. YET!!:woohoo: :cool1:

PS I am overwhelmed by these threads and am not going to try to catch up. I will just wing it for now.
Congrats on snagging a room and glad to have you with us! :)

We are back from the DVC Event...it was nice..you got there and checked in. They gave you a card and you went from table to table and collected 6 limited edition DVC pins that you put on this card and it made a little story. One of the pins was the cruise ship with Donald relaxing by it. There was an open bar (wine and beer) and soda of course...some veggies and cheese and crackers to nibble..then you went in for the presentation...they did talk about the expansion for DCA..they are putting in a new land called Cars land that will have 3 attractions..the biggest one will be a car ride thru Radiator Springs that finishes with a race..kind of like test track. They are also changing the fron tof the park to look like Los Angeles circa 1930s. We then watched about different things you could do with your points...and incentives for buying more points stc..I swore I wasn't gonna buy any more points but I love my points....anyways..there were some giveaway which we didn't win..one was a piece of art from AKL....they kind of talked about the new ships..they will have 1200 guests cabins vs the 8** on the current ships...but they wouldn't say the locations of course. We also got to see some things on the new villas at DGC. There were some performers and characters. DD got pictures taken with the characters and we can downloaad them tomorrow.

The end came and there was more drinks and coffee and dessert..and of course..you could buy points..we decided to add points (of course!) and the best part...we were rewarded with a night in the Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel  (it had to do with the points we bought..we did not win anything) We are so excited! They were doing only 15 nights this summer and we got one of them! I was checking out the dates to see if one fell about the 15th or 16th of August (party in the penthouse!) but no luck. We are going the evening of July 12th!

All in all..it was a fun evening :)

Wow! I am sooo jealous. We were so close to buying in to DVC a few weeks ago, but decided to pay DH's new car off instead, and after this TOAL of course.
That sounded so fun, how many more points did you buy?

Roger, maybe you could help us out with this issue -- those of us planning the pirate buses want to make a liquor stop between DL and San Pedro -- but there will be three buses, likely carrying 50-60 people each (yes!) . . . so can you think of three places on the larger size (with plenty of registers) on the way so that we do not clog up one place and delay our arrival to the port?

Thanks so much . . .

That we can also buy water at.... please. thanks....

Well each bus of 50 will have about as many children as adults, and most adults are with another adult, so probably you are actually only talking about 12-18 people in line buying liquor . . .

We are currently at 43 families on the Pirate Buses.

First team that collects all of the designated photos and returns to the starting point will be deemed the winner.

I like the idea Roger. However, this rule scares me a bit - I can just see the participants charging all over the ship. How about a setting a time frame and each team completing the task gets an entry for a draw at the end to determine the winner?

Wow, that's great! I was wondering what time the busses will be leaving the DL area to go to the port, and how many stops will each bus make before heading to port?
Ooops! I just realized I logged in under my daughters user name. This is Michelle2

sounds like a great time!
awww, too bad you couldn't get a date so we could have a party in this penthouse of which I've never even heard of. LOL

::yes::

Your song was played!

::yes::

He does remember! I'll post a picture later. Been trying for 1 hour to upload a picture and can't do it. So tomorrow night I'll try.

Just wondering what people have been getting for the flight back to Los Angeles from MCO? Usually I get round-trips, so I'm not positive of what to expect on the one-way. So far I get AA at $214 (ugh) or SW at $99 if we leave 2 days later.

I never heard of friends of Bill til my first cruise with Disney.:rolleyes1

Same here. I think I though it was some sort of private or special group that we weren't supposed to know about.:confused3

Well, I suppose it does quality as a private/special group, but one I'm glad not to belong to - though I have the utmost respect for those who do and wish them all success.

2 down, one to go.

I totally forgot to relay what happened the other day during the elementary (that my younger two kids go to) playday..... I caught the principal in the hallway and while I'd asked if we could meet sometime next week- we ended up talking kinda briefly then. He thought I was wanting to talk to him about NOT putting my son in the same class as some trouble-making boys as they were all in the same class this year and it didn't work out well and yeah, that's good but I wanted to talk to him about the kids missing the first week of school since our schedule did NOT change to starting after labor day as anticipated over a year ago.
but it was painless and surprised me. He said he would "ghost" the kids in their classes (especially my son since he'd want to make sure he wasn't in the same classes as "those boys" and keep them all seperate) but we'd register them when we returned. I questioned this because around here you don't have to register the kids like every year- not in elementary. They are just automatically registered- you receive a card in the mail telling you what teacher you have and you go meet them for meet the teacher usually a few days before school and bring the supplies then if you want/etc. didn't have to register Ruby for middle school either- except this last year when they changed it to TWO middle schools we did have to come show proof (everyone did) of where we lived so they'd know which middle school they had to go to.
highschool ofcourse you have to register for your classes.

ANYWAY, I was like register? we never have to register- and he explained something about not normally but he'd rather ghost them in a class and have us register them late rather than show them absent all those days- messes up their percentages is the words he used. I get it I think- it has to do with how much $$ they get- which is why they throw such a fit about kids missing school. So this works out well. Here I was thinking I didn't know if this principal would "work" with us on this..... and turns out it works out better than I thought! They don't even have to have any excused absences (or unexcused) -they'll just register the Tuesday after we get back and will be like perfect attendance if they don't miss any the rest of the year (which they never do. LOL My kids- all of them even the eldest- have only ever missed school to go on disney vacations! LOL)

So that worked out great!
2 down..... one to go.. the hardest one. The one in highschool :scared1:
I already worked it out about missing part of band camp before school starts -with the band director... so that's all cool. Now to talk to the soccer coach and see what's up with that and if they do summer camp -and if so- will she miss it... and is that okay/etc. and THEN the hard one..... finding out how they'll handle it with the school. If they want to do like the elementary and just not register her until we get back- that's fine EXCEPT THAT we have to make sure she'll still get the classes she needs as a freshman. the only one that is iffy is spanish which is iffy anyway- they said it goes to upper classmen first anyway since 2 foreign language credits are required for graduation... so she might not get that anyway! I can't imagine them not allowing her to take any other required courses though- you know like math/etc. right?
I dunno.. I'm kinda scared to talk to them. LOL I kinda want to wait till registering in the summer (last year I saw signs up that they did it late July- and if they do it at that time this year we can register before we leave. But I called the office the other day and they said they didn't know the dates on that yet) and THEN talk to them after I've already got her in the classes she wants/needs? Or should I talk to them before that? I dunno. I'm afraid. :scared1:
