If you are looking for other pics of FEs I was out on the thread called fish extenders? and there are several pics at various places throughout that whole thread of pages. I wanted to see them so I could get a mental image of what I wanted to make.

There are a couple of threads with them on it.. it is just amazing all the talent that goes into them. I wasnt too happy with my choice of fabric today.. They had a lot of Tink and Peter Pan , but not Mickey or Minnie..

I even had a hard time finding red polka dots

My suggestion is online. Do a google search for let's say "minnie polka dot fabric" or "pirate fabric" and you'll get several novelty fabric sites and the cost it's too bad consider we need so little. That way you can get exactly what you want.

That's Alex & Carolyn's FE!! First Timers! They are going on the 10th Anniversary cruise, July 27th? If you go to that thread you should be able to find them and then PM them. They are super nice!!!
The pic is from the 11nt BUT, they were on the 10nt (the cruise before) and some of the magnets on their door are from the 10nt cruise! Some were FE gifts! :thumbsup2

Thank you! :goodvibes And they are all lots of fun!!! :dance3:

Thanks for the info.. I will look them up.. she is very talented.. i hope she wont mind if i try to make one similar to that.

Ok did I get a piratepirate: though..lol If I did its my first one and i wasnt even trying..

Sorry guys.... Ladies still have it!!!

Sorry Doreen but this thread moves soooo fast that the post has to end in at least 3 zeros to qualify as a pirate. pirate:

Hello to all the Pirates,
I am not sure if DW Caropooh has posted this or not, but we are coming too.
Last Sunday we noticed some availability and even though we had lots of problems on the site, we called DCL directly and were able to snag a GTY Cat 5.

your new shipmates are:
Me alanapapa
Caropooh DW
DD14 Disname tba
DD9 Disname tba.

We have some excursions booked, Palo Dinner, could not get a Palo Brunch.

We have late dining and have not found anyone to link with. YET!!:woohoo: :cool1:

PS I am overwhelmed by these threads and am not going to try to catch up. I will just wing it for now.

Grumpy, I'm about 2 hours north of you....I heard a rumor that you were a bobcat? We bleed OU green :thumbsup2

Bobcat here. :thumbsup2
I think I remember that I missed Joel by a year or 2 - when were you there?
I was 1990-1993. Lived on West Green and N.Congress St.

We still have some old blue laws on the books here in NY - can't by alcohol on Sundays before 12 noon.

Can't buy on Sunday in CT either.

Same here! They won't sell beer & wine in grocery stores either.

All the grocery stores in AK have a seperate entrance and cash register for liquor. Of course, it also has the highest rate of alcoholism and spousal abuse in the country...:sad2:

(And no, it is not true that the only reason I prefer DCL is the presense of chocolate smoothies aboard. It's only one of the .... well, I'm sure there are at least a few other reasons... I'm sure it will come to me in a minute.... :rolleyes1 )

Your bar bill was probably as much as mine & you don't have the videos and blackouts to show for it. :lmao:

Sorry I had to jump out of chat yesterday, a visitor turned up then we ended up going out for the evening.

This past week has been a little eventful to say the least...

My aunt (Mum's sister) in the UK has been unwell for sometime and was diagnosed with anorexia - she's in her 70's, they couldn't find anything physically wrong. They finally admitted her to a psychiatric facility and gave her another batch of tests and found it actually wasn't all in her head, she has pancreatic cancer which had already spread to her liver. This was last weekend they finally diagnosed that... and by this stage she was so weak and sick they couldn't even move her to a hospice - they gave her 2 months max to live.

I was then working away in Auckland, Monday-Thursday, and once I arrived in Auckland, one of the first emails from Mum was that she was catching the first flight to the UK on Monday evening - she always said she'd never go back to the UK for a funeral but was hoping she could at least see her sister before she passed.

I then got promoted at work on Friday - finally - good news!

I also on Friday spoke to my brother and he said the title for the property is now done so we should hear from the lawyers this week about buying the land in the country - only been waiting since Christmas for this.

Mum emailed to say she would be coming home next Thursday but we got another message this morning saying that she was at her sister's bedside as at this stage they were talking hours to live.

If you are religious feel free to say a small prayer for my Aunt for a swift and painless passing. That is all I am wishing for her at this moment. Although she lives in England, I have very fond memories of her when we visited and I will be sad to know I won't see her again.

A real week of ups and downs.

Paula - your aunt, your mom and you are all in my prayers. I read liver cancer and shuddered. I know how hard this can be on family. The worst day of my life was spent in a hospital room basically waiting for nothing else but my mom to stop breathing. :sad1:

Congrats on the promotion!

I got you beat. We lived together for 11 years before we got married.
We had bought a house, had 2 kids-and then remembered we forgot to get married along the way. That was 8 years ago so we have been together almost 20 years now. :)

:lmao: :lmao: That is awesome! Did you have a big fancy wedding?

We go married 'young' after 5 years of dating. We were 22 & 23, but we'd graduated from college, both had grown-up jobs, & had moved 4,000 miles from home. I'm not sure what else we were supposed to wait for. :confused3

Lots of military academy guys get engaged during the Ring Dance (end of junior year). DH's invitation to the ring dance basically came with a - "just so ya know, I'm not going to propose..." Thanks for the warning!
Lots more get engaged during graduation week...not us, we were broken up!

I was stalked. I was on actually on another date and DW managed to invite herself in on it.

Shella and I are going to get along great. That is sooo something I would do! (but not in a creapy stalker sort of way).

Have fun! I hope your son is posting on the kids thread -- I have a 10ds on the thread! He turned 10 in Feb.

One DS will turn 10 on the cruise, but I think DS8 is going to love Elvis. He hasn't done any real plays, but loved theater camp and the bit of acting he's had a chance to do.

Then DH would die. ;) He hates people looking at him -- but, I guess if we had 20 kids he would have to get used to that! LOL! :lmao:

Oldest dd (24) always laughs when she hears me say *I only have 5 children.* She has said to me *You know most people think more then 2 is ALOT.* :rotfl:
We have started adding *And they all have the same mom and dad* Because we found out that most people thought it was a yours/mine/ours type situation.... Until they saw everyone together! :rotfl2:

FamilywithFantasiaMickey-1.jpg

Beautiful! Maybe the yours/mine/ours comments come from the age gap, not the number. I'll admit that was my first thought. I have a brother 10 years younger (same parents) & I thought we had a huge gap! The good news is that we have always been close (even though I left home when he was 7). He's one of my best friends and I've really been his 'fill-in mom' since he was 15.

Oh I'm aware of the other....their new ballpark was on my list a couple years ago to get to. I loved the ballpark and the view of the city. I have friends here in Ohio who are die-hard Pitt fans; be it baseball, football or hockey....Pitt is only 3 or less hours away from us.

Sorry. No Steelers talk allowed.

Sorry Doreen but this thread moves soooo fast that the post has to end in at least 3 zeros to qualify as a pirate. pirate:

Well, geeze Diane. If you're gonna discriminate against people who don't post all the time...

:lmao:

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate them and feel lucky to have friends such as you all.

My heart is breaking for my Mum, she loves her sister very much and it must be the hardest thing in the world to be going through - my uncle emailed to say that Mum hasn't left my Aunt's side since she got to the UK. She must be exhausted both emotionally and physically.

We'll keep your aunt, your Mom, you, and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

That's the best advice! Just jump in when you can and welcome aboard. I saw your introductory post on the roster thread on the planning boards, so I know you already know where to find the most important planning info.:thumbsup2

Welcome aboard-Glad to have you with us!

This is just a public service announcement for anyone who might be flying back via Southwest on the 1st. Since we only booked two weeks ago, I was still working on flights. Southwest is the only one that offers me a direct flight after 8 am. The price over the past two weeks kept going up from Orlando and tonight I was just going to book at the highest rate (I thought because it was Labor Day) and the flight went down nearly $50 per person. So, you may want to check if any of the other Orlando flights went down for that day!

Bobcat here. :thumbsup2

Shella and I are going to get along great. That is sooo something I would do! (but not in a creapy stalker sort of way).

My point exactly! Why wait for him to figure out she wasn't right for him when I can just invite myself and make sure he gets to know me? :stir:

TY for standing up for me and the need sometimes for a girl to take control of the situation and just do what needs to be done!

Palo through the canal sounds like a great way to celebrate.

DS9's birthday is the last sea day.

Our 14th anniversary and my birthday are about a month after TOAL. Yikes, I just thought - December will be 19 years together for us. We met 22 years ago this Halloween. Good golly we're getting old.

Okay........do I have the record of 40 years on July 13th and we knew each other over 46 years!!!!!!!!

Good morning!

Well..the final lanyard count is 300!

Below is a list of who ordered. If you do not see your name on the list and PM'd me - I appologize that I missed it. Please PM me again (please don't post it here..I may not see it) I have gone back over all of my PMs and double checked to make sure I got everyone but it is possible that I missed you. Anyways..I will be placing the order on Monday. The company does not guarantee the exact amount .. it can be +/- 5% so I will be ordering 5% over to make sure everyone gets theirs. I will post when I get them if I have some extra. I will also be getting the plastic sleeve for our KTTW cards and name tags that Chrissie is making. Thanks everyone for your orders!

And who said no one liked lanyards??:lmao: ;)

friends of Bill meetings every day quoted in the navigator. Attendance 2,200, (Rest kids)

I never heard of friends of Bill til my first cruise with Disney.:rolleyes1

All the shunned people to the port side...

Now all the shunned people to the the starboard...

Now back to port...

Oh look-a peanut!

:lmao:

:flower3: ...dear dahuffy...we're right behind your 29 years...:yay:

I am way ahead of you with 40 years!!:cloud9:

Actually I 'forgot' you were on 'late' this one, I just had visions of you across Parrot Cay floor form me, so it was genuine.

You can always stop into late dining with a glass of champagne for Julie and of course ME!:woohoo:

Since we have to have a mixture of banter and cruise related information, I have finally gotten this activity off the ground. I have wanted to do a scavenger hunt on the boat since last year. In the past I have made pirate maps for the kids and hid them around the house with clues leading to the next map. I tried to think of a way to transfer this idea to the Magic but I would really need to be on the Magic to come up with really good clues. Also having people stationed around the ship handing out the next map seems to be way to involved. So I did some research and discussed with Cherie and I think I have come up with a workable idea. I am open to comments, suggestions and help on making this a lot of fun. So here goes my idea.

Example: Paintbrush
Since this would be an easy one, the team would head off to Animators Palette and take a picture of the paintbrush outside the restaurant with one of the team members in the pictures. Trust me the actual list will not be this easy and will require all of your cunning pirate skills.

I would love to have a few volunteers that would be interested in coming up with items/places on the Magic for the list. Also help at the end to verify the winner. If you volunteer for this you will not be able to participate in the actual scavenger hunt.

I am thinking that this activity would be great on the sea day following Aruba. By that time people will have spent enough time around the ship to be familiar with most of areas.

Sounds like a lot of fun!!! I will look back at my Magic pictures to see if I can help!! It has been 3 years and I can't even remember where my keys are.:rotfl2:

Congrats and thanks for the heads up. I just posted about this yesterday too. Ours went down $41 per person for Sept 3 flights home. Others have checked and theirs have gone up, but that's what happened with ours too, so keep checking.

I was 1990-1993. Lived on West Green and N.Congress St.

Actually, my senior year was 1990-91. So, you probably saw me dancing 'Cheer' at least once.

Okay.........Garage Sale is over!!!:headache: I only stayed open for 4 hours today. My grand total for my slush fund or lush fund for Toal from my gargae sale is $378!!! :yay: :dance3:  :yay: :dance3:  :dance3: :yay:

OK ladies...formal shopping...
Am I the only one who can't find anything between skanky and frumpy??
I'm too old for one, too young for the other & regardless, my style is firmly planted between the two. :)

I'm wearing a dress I already have (and love) for Princess Night, but I'm looking for another. I stopped in David's Bridal today and found 2 that were decent on me. What do you think? Too bridesmaid??

Sorry, one comes out a photo & the other doesn't, but the link works. I look decent in this color and it goes with sunburn! I love red, but doesn't work with cruise sunburn.

now my theory on that is NOT that we have weight to lose; it's that we need to get taller!:confused3

LOVE IT!!!!!

I was at the mall today too.. Penney's was having a clearance I tried on some 10 dresses most were marked down 20-30 bucks except 1 that looked the best and it was 60.... Like I have said before - I am not a dressy girl so that is more than I wanted to spend but it was a LBD - so I might go ahead and get it....

I will try again tomorrow.

:scared: You weren't a senior hanging out at the Greenery hitting on freshman girls, were you?? :rotfl2:

Yup, I'm sure I saw you. I live in the athlete's dorm. I'd be up until 3 am drinking and playing eukre with the football players the night before the games. And you wonder why we had the NCAA D1 losing streak record...

You said so in chat a few weeks ago.
