Hi Doreen, We have the pleasure of having our soon to be 15 year old son going with us on this cruise. In fact, we also have a new 17 year old daughter, Birthday was yesterday, going with us as well. So, your son wont be just surrouned with girls......might not be sooo bad !!! And you thought you guys only had to pray for keeping Enna's in laws off the cruise !!!

I had to read this four times to figure out that you didn't adopt more kids!!
:scared1: :scared1:

Guess what I found in my backyard the other day?:rolleyes1

I had a 2 of these for pets when I was a kid!

Will you all PLEASE stop talking so I can ketchup????

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

By the way....Mouse Count:

I remember years ago when the kids had someone sleep over, I'd have to think of things for them to do. I bet no other Mom ever had a mouse hunt!! :rotfl:

Well, that's where we have the conflict. We tend to jump into the adventures and experiences. They tend to sit onboard and squabble, then criticize us/complain because we actually DID something. Sorry, but I have better things to do on vacation than to be responsible for the nephew while SIL picks a fight with MIL so MIL will buy SIL whatever she wants.

Did I mention that on our first cruise, MIL insisted that she be in charge of all of the booking? She registered the kids for the club...without our permission. She listed MIL, SIL and hubby's Aunt-in-law as those able to sign out the kids...and NOT US. She didn't even give us the password...for our own kids! :scared1: Fortunately, we were able to un-do what she had done, but it was a whole lot of angst that didn't need to happen at all.

We took Jay's sister and her son on a cruise once. Never again! They both just sat around saying they were bored...and then complained about everything later. And it was a DISNEY cruise!!

On another note, it is interesting (and cool) to see the wide variety of priorities people bring to the cruise. I always book the lowest category because history has shown that I spend very little time looking out of windows or sitting on verandas (I've sailed as high as category 4). Though, if they do upgrade us, we won't turn them down :-)

I find this kind of stuff interesting, also.

DH spends time every afternoon in the cabin -- ordering a club sandwich for him and 10ds. ;) Depending on the temps they either have the curtains open or they are on the verandah.
DH loves relaxing in the cabin and having a seperate bathroom from our teenager-- which is why he prefers a suite.

He did tell me last night that if we get a chance to cruise with just the 2 of us we will stay in a lower catagory. WHich he knows is finewith me! LOL!

You are creative!

Kids will start asking can we come over to play get the mouse!

We catch them a different way..we have cats!

BINGO

The picture reminds me....Megan has "outlawed" the Chicken Dance at her wedding. She even warned the DJ to not accept any bribes from me.......ahhhh....but I am so much older and more clever than she is!!!;) ;)

Do you call him Andy or Drew or Andrew ? With all the Andrews on this trip, these boys are going to be looking over their shoulders everytime someone calls their name:lmao:

My 10ds has a common name but, he goes by Elvis and there is NEVER another Elvis around! LOL! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The mom of a girl in his Musical Theater class last year came up to me and said *My dd tells me that your son's name is Elvis but, I told her that you don't seem like the type of mom that would name a child Elvis.* :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm pretty excited because I just got my 1,000th! 5,000 just seems so far away. Congratulations!

Go Chrissie!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey Tina, Tanks for the good luck.. Its so nerve racking for us.. We are on 2nd setting again.. we like that better. I tried to sign up but who ever I emailed said it wouldnt hapen until after the excursion are booked.

Where ar you living now? i thought you went to Chicago??? now I see Myrtle Beach by your name..

Doreen

It was me you e-mailed and no we are not linking anyone til after the 75 day mark for the non CC members. If we linked you before the excursions...other names would show up when you tried to book. This is less stressfull for everyone!!;) Well ..............we will see tonight!!:lmao: :lmao:

Roger, Cheryl, Todd - I see you guys lurking out there

Monica I was actually trying to play ketchup. I have a garage sale next weekend and I am trying to set it up a little now!!!:scared:

We will see the cabin availability peak this weekend, a couple more say early next week, as the last few pay up or cancel.

I think you will get one of the ships ported at LA, it will be one of the older ones magic or Wonder and it will be there on a permanent basis, thats nearly a done deal.

Now 2010 its 50/50 IMHO West coast and LA or the Med, -West coast to build up custom before a ship is based there, or the Med to push out for three DCL zones, Caribbean with two ships LA with one and Europe with one in the summer.

I like the way you think

Ohhh....MIL lived in NY briefly....in fact, I think she was born in Schenactady. (Yes, MIL, if you are reading this, I'm talking about YOU. You are the MIL I want to stay HOME.)

My poor dear sweet MIL passed away before I ever had to take her on a cruise.
I mean...GOT to take her. Yeah, uh huh...that's what I meant. :lmao:

We caught 8 mice when we first moved in our house in the crawl sapce!!! :scared1: Frist we caught all the babies and then last was the mother.:rolleyes1 We used peanut butter to trap them . I hope your mother mouse had a small family for your sake.

Anyone been to these ports before?

Are there things to do in walking distance of ship?
(Um shopping per say?:lmao: )
Chrissie

Yes, yes, and yes. Or a quick taxi ride, for lazy people like me.

Anyone with a 15 yr old son that is going?? My son hasnt met anyone yet.. The kids boards seem to be younger girls. He has been to busy with mock trials to really do any chats... wait until Tuesday when we get back and ita ll over.. Then he can start the real planning...

I think more of the High Schoolers will be available to post after school lets out --- 17dd finished most of her school for the year this week.
We homeschool but, most of her stuff is winding down this week.

10ds & 17dd have posted on the kids board. Elvis/Pirana

a mystery for booking night :rotfl:

The CM was so nice and really wanted to find some information for me. But nothing. She was having fun though. Said she hadn't looked into anything on the EB before today. But a lot of her calls had been about it. I actually called to move my 9/1 5 day ressie to a late 2009, but asked about our cruise just for fun.

We'd just like to see the cliff divers. May sound crazy, but we have a local restaurant that "recreates" the cliff divers---Casa Bonita. It'd be nice to have the kids see the real thing!

I've been to Casa Bonita!! Although it's been YEARS since I was there. It was an awesome place (through a kid's eyes, anyway) ...Is it still?

You are lucky to have been able to buy some as well! As well as the one I got on the repo last August, I did win one at Bingo . . .

I won one of Ducky's lithos in the Silent Auction during our August 2004 cruise, then just a few weeks ago, I bought this Ducky litho (pic below) on eBay. It was a birthday present for myself. This is actually the litho I was hoping to win during the Silent Auction in 2004, but when the bidding went over $500 I stopped bidding, the final winning bid was $1100. I bought this on eBay for $105, not a bad deal at all!!! I had it professionally framed after it arrived.
