My 10ds has a common name but, he goes by Elvis and there is NEVER another Elvis around! LOL! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The mom of a girl in his Musical Theater class last year came up to me and said *My dd tells me that your son's name is Elvis but, I told her that you don't seem like the type of mom that would name a child Elvis.* :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

A kid I went to school with was named Barney. His parents and my parents traveled in the same circles. My mom tells about the first time she saw Barney as a baby. She asked his mom what his name was and when the other mom said "Barney" my mom said "But what's his REAL name?"

I guess that's where I get my Foot in Mouth Disease. :rotfl:

Andy...that is soooo awesome!!

I have a "Pinocchio" corner in my house. My Blue Fairy sketch was from a Princess cruise. And much cheaper than if I'd tried to get it on a DCL cruise!

Please, God, PLEASE do not let my in-laws find any of the available cabins.

Please? Pretty please?

OMG This is so funny:rotfl2:
I was thinking the exact same thing:lmao:
DH has told me he doesn't want his DM on the cruise, but he won't tell her:headache:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of you.:wizard:

Anyone with a 15 yr old son that is going?? My son hasnt met anyone yet.. The kids boards seem to be younger girls. He has been to busy with mock trials to really do any chats... wait until Tuesday when we get back and ita ll over.. Then he can start the real planning...

Tyreak is 16. I'm sure he'll start posting once he's done with finals and REGENTS.

Our family just needs this vacation for just us without having the stress of coordinating with MIL, SIL and the nephew. We have very different vacation styles to the point where there isn't any middle ground, yet it's always my family who tries to accomodate. We might be able to vacation with them again when the kids are older, but for now, it just doesn't work.

Over the years we've travelled with family memebers several times and what works for us is that we only *have* to get together for dinner.

We did this with our adult children on the 10nt cruise, also. We paid for their trip and that was what they had to do in return. ;) Meet us at the table for dinner. We all have a good time that way! :thumbsup2

Hi Doreen, We have the pleasure of having our soon to be 15 year old son going with us on this cruise. In fact, we also have a new 17 year old daughter, Birthday was yesterday, going with us as well. So, your son wont be just surrouned with girls......might not be sooo bad !!! And you thought you guys only had to pray for keeping Enna's in laws off the cruise !!!

Our dd turned 17 at the end of March. She is sooo glad to know that she won't be the only 17 girl! LOL! If your dd would like to talk to mine ahead of time PM me and we can hook them up.

My dd is very nice, quiet and never gets in trouble! She told me she learned from her older db & ds what not to do as a teenager. :rotfl:

HEY.

I heard that!

Right now, I'm in my office listening to the associate give the homily for the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Yes, he is STILL talking (and it's 8:30 a.m.) Another minute and I might have to walk into church and kick him off the pulpit!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Our main priest gives a great homily but, our old asst....... Dh and I would look at each other and mouth *stop now*. He always went just past the point of *enough*!

Did I mention that on our first cruise, MIL insisted that she be in charge of all of the booking? She registered the kids for the club...without our permission. She listed MIL, SIL and hubby's Aunt-in-law as those able to sign out the kids...and NOT US. She didn't even give us the password...for our own kids! :scared1: Fortunately, we were able to un-do what she had done, but it was a whole lot of angst that didn't need to happen at all.

If they end up overboard none of us will give you up. ;)

Congrats on making it to states!! Good luck!

My youngest son just turned 15. He is rather shy, but I am hoping to get him into the teen group as we will be on the ship for two weeks and I don't want to see him spend the whole time either working our or ordering room service!

My 17dd is very shy but, she told me the trick is to go to the teen club onthe first night and then it is much easier the rest of the time!

Finally, I was able to sign in with this name... I am so excited about booking the excursions...

I have to go away with my son this week so i wont be on my trusted Pc at home. I have all my favorites saved. I will be using my sons new laptop that I am not to familar with.. With me luck..

If anyone is familar with HIGH SCHOOL MOCK trial teams.. that is what I am doing. My sons school won the NY SATE regional competition  and now we are off to ALBANY NY..Please keep us in mind to bring the trophy home.

Thank you to all the members that have posted the times of different excurions. That is most helpful.. and discouraging to see some of the times. We were hoping to get 2 excurions in at some of the longer ports... Well we can see what happens..:goodvibes

Still no calls from MARY ROSE...i know Ginny and Darlene will be on this cruise..

I cant wait to keep up with this board now that I have my screen name back..:dance3:

Doreen

Hey Doreen -

My son, Kaleb, will be 14 yo for the cruise. He is a bit concerned as well . . .LOL. PM me and maybe they can send emails back and forth.

Hope you have a trophy for your mantel when you get home from Albany!

I like the way you think

Presumably that was scheduled downtime during which time they installed new servers, routers and T3 lines to dramaticaly increase the performance of the site tonight in preparation for the flood of people seeking out "hassle free" bookings? :rolleyes1

Thats it!

Hi Doreen, my son is 15. Let me know if you want them to email. He hasn't met anyone either.

I miss the good ol' days of UNLIMITED accounts on DCL....

I totally agree!!!

Not sure if anyone else answered, I'm playing morning ketchup.
Which port did you want to know about...and which excursion? It makes it easier to narrow it down as we have to look at each one individually. I can look at several for you, no problem...just don't want to look at the wrong day. :)

I would love to know the times of the dolphin signature swim in PV, and the kiddie dolphin encounter in PV. Thanks so much, Stace.
BTW, I had a dream/nightmare about your little caught baby mouse. I dreamt that I took a big drink of water out of a cup, look down into it, and its the cup/container you had the mouse in and I spit it all out, with mouse hair, etc all in the water I just drank....GROSS!!! Sorry if I grossed anyone out, I sure was....blech

As a fellow computer geek . . . this was just terribly funny. . . .:rotfl:

Tonight is going to be interesting to say the least!

TEW 8-)

We'd just like to see the cliff divers. May sound crazy, but we have a local restaurant that "recreates" the cliff divers---Casa Bonita. It'd be nice to have the kids see the real thing!

DH & I used to live down the street from Casa Bonita -- in 1981/82!!! 28ds was 2 when we moved back home. :)

We lived on Pierce in Wheatridge but, Lakewood was about a couple of blocks away. :)

We usually go to Denver about every other year or so....... CO is great in the summer because even when it is 95 degrees it is still alot cooler then it is here! :rotfl2:

And spare a quick thought for those cruisers on the Wonder 8/17/2008 who are also booking tonight, on the *New* hyperlink servers,

Spare a thought,....:lovestruc .ok thats it, don't have to over do it.:rotfl2:

Ditto here, Michele . . .PM me and maybe our boys can email, too. Being homeschooled, he is very good at making new friends quickly . . . LOL

Have a happy

Getting ready for tonight at least that is my hope.

:confused3 Since this is my first cruise anywhere - How did you find the times of the shore excursions? We will be booking "after midnight" since my friend has cruised before. Thanks, G

I called DCL and asked. They did not have times for a few I was interested in and it seems those are ones that are not offered on the EB. They finally got times for Cartagena.

Ok another question maybe Andrew can answer.. When i go to the crusie line site to check itineray.. it doenst have the spot that used to say you cant book until 90 days out... Where is the place that I will book (click on to ) tonight???

Here you go

That is odd.
Maybe they thought that parents automatically got sign out privileges and they were on just in case of an emergency:confused3

I have to remind my MiL not to tease my DD about weight-related issues. She always complains that my DD (now 11) is too sensitive and has to learn to take teasing.
Gotta find those articles about teen girls and eating disorders:rolleyes:
Of course she'll just say that I'm paranoid:rolleyes1

My father used to say "chub chub chub." Only now do I understand the effects it had on me. I was average growing up - thanks to mom being very cautious about what we ate at home.

Anyone been to these ports before?

Are there things to do in walking distance of ship?
(Um shopping per say?:lmao: )
Chrissie

I have been to Cabo San Lucas & Puerto Vallarta on the 2005 Mexican cruises. After the excursion in Cabo they offered a drop "downtown" if we were interested in walking about. The walk back to the ship was do able but it was warm, I would consider a cab next time if it was really hot when we are there. As for Puerto Vallarta I know there was a Sam's and Walmart that we could see from the ship - I did not explore just went on our excursion and back to the ship.

Does anyone know if its going to totally kick you out and make you completely log back into the site when that 12:00 EST comes?

Tell Shane that Daniel is 15.. or any of the girls to for that matter. He is 6'3" and as well as the other girls never been in trouble and a straight A student.

Plays wii a WEE.. ( ha ha) bit, has guitar hero but not into video games that much. He liked the wild side at Castaway Cay into fitness. We are training for a 5k actually for August as well..:rotfl2:

My son is just like Tyreak. after the regents and finals he will post as well. He too said he learned from his older sister not to do anything wrong.. Esp to get on moms bad side..lol
