Booking Question

Okay, now that I have someone's attention. In regards to the Wenches Tea - do I need to do anything when booking excursions tomorrow night. Chris already has me on the list.

I don't believe so. I do know that if you book your own and you are also doing that one..you will be asked to cancel one of your ressies. I am not sure of the date she requested. I thought it was the 23rd or 24th but then I thought I saw her post that was the brunch...

Hello, again fellow cruisers. I haven't posted on this thread for many months, but since we are now paid in full, I have been trying to catch up. One subject I have not seen covered is the logistics of using Disney transfers from the airport to the port.

We have always flown into Orlando and sailed out of Pt. Canaveral. This August, we will be flying in the day before. Since we willl be staying overnight near LAX and have purchased Disney transfers, I am planning on getting ourselves and our luggage back to the airport on embarkation morning in order to get on the bus to the port, right?

Is there a schedule out yet showing when the busses start leaving for the port? Is it about 10am as in Orlando? Where at LAX do they load the busses? What is the best way to return to the airport to get the Disney transfer bus? Motel shuttle? Rent a car overnight?

I think others have covered this, but this is what I did in 2005. We stayed at the Radisson. I took the airport shuttle to the hotel and then next day back to the airport. We met in baggage claim. I don't recall the time but I think we were to the port before noon.

Yes it is, I have been having a really hard time sleeping the last 2 nights. It says it is 66 and going up to 72 today. It seems a bit muggy. Chocolate sounds so good but getting over to that side of town on a hot day with lots of people - I will pass. Love to hear how it was though. Who ever thought I would say I can't wait for the fog to come back.

quick question....
we've never booked excursions before we've boarded. actually the only excursion that has ever been booked was for dh to parasail at CC (which ended up being canceled due to weather).
anyways, when booking tomorrow nite, do you reserve a time? if it says it meets at 8:45 or 9:45, do you pick that tomorrow nite too? or will they place us wherever there is room?

As others already said - if there are multiple times offered you will get to choose, unless those times are sold out. If there is a time you want and it is sold out I would just keep checking back periodically before the cruise as people do cancel.

The funeral for my FIL went well. Lots of family & friends - we shared wonderful memories of his life.

Question: what is the link for the PV Zip Line?? DH Paul decided he does want to go - I think that is the one where those who are chicken can observe?

It's pretty cool when smaller ships go through, they just throw a bunch of them in each lock at the same time. DH went through once on a 120' fishing vessel...with 2.5 tons of cocaine onboard. There were a bunch of ships in the lock with them.

I see we now have something to do tomorrow night while we try to make our ressies. Ever 30 minutes we take a shot. Then we get to see who can hold their liquor - those will be the ones that actually get to make their choices.

Anyone noticed this?

3 transits of the Panama canal by the Magic so far, each time the Magic has used the same set of locks. IE going West to the left, of the two or if going Eastbound the right of the two. (As you approach)

Presume is because of the viewing gallery's are on that side, IE Port W/B and Starboard E/B. We saw yesterday people waiting to watch the Magic on land on its port side. At the last two locks, Perdo Miguel and Miraflores.

If this pattern is the same, the Port side will get the view of the other set of locks and the ships going through them. Starboard whatever lock it goes through will see the viewing galleries.

What does this mean for the Cat 10s?

Well I can tell you on the Cat 10's on decks 1 and 2, it will mean that in the locks you will see a 'wall' on the port side and on the starboard side you also will see a 'wall'.

For the Cat 10's on 5 & 7, you will have the views as specified on my previous post

Question for those that charge everything on Disney Visa, then pay it off right away???

How long should I wait between charging and making the payment? Does it matter? I don't want to lose out on my rewards if I make a payment too soon.

I always wait until the actual payment is due. Otherwise, I still get a notice for payment. Just a little thing that bugs me about making a payment mid-cycle.
And you may as well keep your money to yourself (hopefully earning interest) a little longer.

Tom, AirTran has always emailed with schedule changes. On our last trip to WDW that we books 6 months in advance it changed about 3 times and each time I got an email and had to accept the change. Once I clicked accept and apparently it didn't take so they emailed me again.

No e-mail on this one. I was surprised.
