Hmmm...which 1/2 body gets the massage with the wrap??
That's a real question! Is it the back half or the top half??
Or is it only the parts that are unwrapped??

I don't do this often, can you tell??

It's a two part process -- the wrap, and then the massage. So you get a mud type thing smeared on you and you are wrapped first in soft aluminum foil (I know that's not what it is, but it looks like it) and then in towels. You heat up nicely in there, to say the least! While you are relaxing during the wrap part, the therapist will massage your feet and scalp (the only parts sticking out other than your face). When that part is over, you shower (the rooms they do this in have a shower) to get the mud off and get back on the table for the massage part. The therapist will ask you what parts you want concentrated on, since it is only a 25-30 minute massage -- I picked my back but if you wanted I'm sure you could could concentrate on the legs or just have an abbreviated full back of body massage.

I don't want to trash the hot stones, and I think my therapist that time might not have been the best, but I did decide after that one that I would just go for the regular well being massage over the hot stone. The wrap is a very different experience than a regular massage, though.

My favorite thing was the Chakra Balancing Capsule and they took that off the ships, so I'm contemplating whether or not to do the Lime & Ginger Salt Glow or the Hot Stone Massage. I don't do it very often either and have no clue which to do.

The boys and I are going to the chocolate festival this morning.

OH YUM!! I'm so jealous. I'm doing a cleansing fast this weekend so it's just limited juice and water for me. :sad2: It'll be worth it though, or so they say. At least my headache is gone from kicking the caffeine.

AHHHHHH whats that song..... Love is in the air... everywhere I look around...

(He's not another Florence boy then ? I presume)

PS what do I get for a post 2,500?

No, Ben was Australian . . . and he brought me chocolates after my massages and I gave him some body lotion I use after he had commented how much he liked the smell! Ahhh, I love cruises . . .

What do you WANT for a post 2,500????

G'mornin' pirate:s

It's a good day to gather supplies for the Hassle Free Seige.

* Cruise binder - check
* Dis friend phone numbers - check
* Port Schedule - check
* Wish List - check (well, um it's from 2004 cruise)
* Rum - check

oh goody does this mean I'll be getting a phone call in the wee hours of the morning? :goodvibes

There is still time my pirate friend. pirate:

Oh! I know you can't share since she reads here, but take pictures!

(I need to know what I'm in for on TOAL...)

Not sure I want anything from the Ohio River, but I sure do like Lake Erie perch.

Forget steerage. At this point I'd stow away if I had to.

Welcome Back!
I think you'll have a really good idea of how it works once the Mexican Riviera cruises start. After all, DCL has all summer to practice before we get there.

Andy - Angelina is beautiful! Is that a Dis green dress?? :) I hope she had a great time. Thanks for sharing photos with us.

Thanks Roger! :cool1:

S: (n) opossum, possum (nocturnal arboreal marsupial having a naked prehensile tail found from southern North America to northern South America)

Found this from Answers.com: possum (An opossum).

[Short for OPOSSUM.]

REGIONAL NOTE Since English is a language that stresses some syllables and not others, weakly stressed syllables, especially those preceding strong stresses, are dropped at times. This process, called aphesis when it occurs at the beginning of a word, is more common in regional American dialects than in the more conservative Standard English, which tends to retain in pronunciation anything reflected in spelling. Although many American dialects feature aphesis, it is most famous in the dialects of the South, where it yields pronunciations such as count of for (on) account of, tater for potato, possum for opossum, and skeeter for mosquito.

Thanks ! I thought I had read all the blogs. Must have missed that one. So how many people trying to get brunch on PC day?:rotfl2:

I don't think it was offered on the DCL website when the WB's booked, but it was offered once they were on board?

Been a while since I checked, so I went on Airtran's website and my 5:05 pm flight is now 8:35 am

Anyone think I can make this?

Called Airtran and they switched me to a 4:30 pm flight.

I love that their confirmation and FAQ say they will notify me of any changes to itinerary as soon as possible. Guess they were going to notify me as close as possible to departure.

That's ridiculous! :sad2:

No way,

on the repo cruise last time, it was the worst queues I have ever seen to get off the ship, at 7.30am when we joined it the queue was backed up to Promenade lounge and people were starting to queue around parrot cay entrance, lots of people had to much take off luggage which slowed down disembarkation.

I won't be in that queue! I'll be hiding somewhere so I don't have to get off! ;)

Sour grapes, Andrew, you know you would like to stay on the ship with us for the 5 night!

The monumental decision I am contemplating this weekend:

Elemis Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap with Half Body Massage

OR

Elemis Aroma Stone Therapy

Anyone done either of these and have any thoughts?? DH & I have only had the Couples Massage, but he thinks he can handle getting a massage by himself this time, so I want to try something new.

They moved it back by 11+ hours! That's insane. The didn't move your flight, they just randomly assigned you to a new one!

...off to check my Airtran return flight...

I got my first EVER massage on our Jan 07 cruise. I had the hot stone massage and all I can say is OMG - it was fantastic. I really had nothing to compare it to though. It was wonderful, the threapist that I had was really in tune with me, I made her aware that this was my first ever massage.

Since then I have had a general body massage by a friend who is getting her massage therapist certificate/liscense, whatever - anyways it just wasn't the same. While I would do the hot stone massage again, this time I think I will go with one well being massage and the Lime and Ginger Salt Glow.
Although the wrap sounds wonderful too...........

Hello, again fellow cruisers. I haven't posted on this thread for many months, but since we are now paid in full, I have been trying to catch up. One subject I have not seen covered is the logistics of using Disney transfers from the airport to the port.

We have always flown into Orlando and sailed out of Pt. Canaveral. This August, we will be flying in the day before. Since we willl be staying overnight near LAX and have purchased Disney transfers, I am planning on getting ourselves and our luggage back to the airport on embarkation morning in order to get on the bus to the port, right?

Is there a schedule out yet showing when the busses start leaving for the port? Is it about 10am as in Orlando? Where at LAX do they load the busses? What is the best way to return to the airport to get the Disney transfer bus? Motel shuttle? Rent a car overnight?

Cheryl (micmse2003) is staying at the Mariott LAX I believe. As far as I know she is the only one getting DCL transfers from the airport. She may have more info.

I do know the transfers from the DL hotels will be starting at 12pm. So I'm not sure how early the transfers from LAX are going to start.

Cheryl (micmse2003) is staying at airport and I'm pretty sure taking DCL transfers (or researched them), she will know the answers.

Only consideration is that the busses from Disneyland don't start until 12, not sure if this is same for airport.

SCARY. I just posted the exact same thing (well different words, but still the same info).

Could someone confirm when we can try for Palo brunch? Does anyone know if they had brunch yesterday going through PC? Thanks :)

Mike has checked and Palo is NOT showing for PC day for us. It didn't show for the WB folks either. BUT someone posted from the ship that they got a surprise brunch yesterday. I haven't searched back to see if they posted any more info on how it happened.

In one of the pics though I did see PJ (Palo manager) out on the deck in his Palo coat. So it would seem that it was open.

Thanks ! I thought I had read all the blogs. Must have missed that one. So how many people trying to get brunch on PC day?:rotfl2:

At first I thought I wanted brunch that day. But after sitting here in 100 degree weather watching the crossing yesterday, I'm rethinking that. I couldn't eat much, it was too hot. I think that if I was out there watching the crossing, then try to go to Palo, I would be miserable.

I have heard that the Stone Therapy wasn't that impressive. I can't remember if it was a review of DCL or just a Stone Therapy elsewhere though.

Hi M, I have done both . . . the wrap can be wonderful if you get the right person -- I had Ben last summer and he was great. The cocooning feeling when you are wrapped and the therapist is massaging your scalp and feet is wonderful! I have had the hot stone before as well, and may have just not had as good a therapist because I didn't think it was worth the extra money compared to a simple well being massage (but many rave on it on the boards).

well....maybe it was Julie that I heard that from???

Good morning everyone. It's gonna be another hot day today. Yesterday it was 105 :scared1: :scared1:

The boys and I are going to the chocolate festival this morning. Because it's so dang hot - it's gonna be more like the chocolate sauce festival!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Penny

You said the magic word.....I'm off to search the web and find out where this is....might just see you there

edited: found it, I think, is it at Ghirardeli Square?? http://ghirardellisq.com/ghirardellisq/events.php?id=2

edited again: this is probably the one you are going to, I think it's closer to you http://oakdalechamber.com/content/view/12/41/

Hey Penny, aren't you flying into SMF? Which flight? I'm about to book SW into SMF myself.

Hi Stephanie!!! You are up late too!!! Glad you all had a fun dinner. Sure going to miss my partners in crime at the clubs!!!;) Did you tell them I said Hi!!

Of course!!! They sooo want to go with us!!! :goodvibes

Sour grapes, Andrew, you know you would like to stay on the ship with us for the 5 night!

I'm sure Andrew's reply will be coming very shortly! :)

I wonder how many of us are staying on board for the extra five nights?

I was going to go to Disney for the week when we got back. But, running a price comparison on lodging, food, entertainment, et cetera, I decided it was cheaper (and certainly very appealing) to remain on board.

I'm hoping that I will be in the same room for the Repo as well as for the 5 day. I have asked for that but right now I am one of the many who are GTY for the repo cruise. I'm still waiting to find out my room assignment. (On the 5 day I am in 6090.)

Looking forward to both segments!

This makes my life so much easier!!!:thumbsup2 I felt left out since I was not on the computer to share all the excitement yesterday!!:headache:

Plus I just put a deposit down on another voyage (with a different line) so I could really really use the scratch ta replenish da' bank.

Just let me know when you run out and I will just pick some more!!!;) I have a green thumb!!:lmao: :lmao:

I am staying at the Marriott LAX which is the alternative Hotel DCL uses. I booked on my own and it is $139 (but I get senior rate of ($119 :thumbsup2.They have a free shuttle to the Marriott and then back to the airport to catch DCL transfers the next morning!! Rumor has it that we might just be able to get the DCL bus right from the hotel. Either way it works out!!! If you book the hotel through DCL the price is about $50 more. Hope this helps!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Nope, not a one...........:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for getting the spelling the correct way!!! opossum spelled this way gets you two drinks.:drinking1 :drinking1

Cheryl, in case you didn't get a chance to read Lauras blog yet , this is sfor you

So for dinner, we had East Meets West. I ordered the Golden Pineapple Cristobel (with Tequila Fruits Compote) as an appetizer which was really very good and had cantaloupe, mango and honeydew and pineapple of course. Then I followed up with Chicken Noodle Soup from the kids menu. That was safer. For the main course I had Baked Pacific Lobster Tail with Yukon Gold Potato mash, garlic roasted asparagus and yellow squash covered in shrimp lemon butter. BTW, we got to keep the menus. They are some funky tropical yellow which resembles the postcard yellow – it’s a bit funky. You’ll all see. For dessert I had the Pedro Miguel Sundae which contained coconut ice cream (really good!) fresh pineapple, Curacao liquer, whipped cream and orange macaroon. Not bad – my lobster was actually really good and big!

Okay let the drooling begin!!!

There's a bunch Mike. Julie, Todd, Chris, Paula to name a few. I'm booked but there's no way I can swing it. I'll be canceling later today.
