Hi Everyone,

Just back from a looong Mother's Day. DS9 and I and my parents drove out to my Grandmothers (about 1hr 20min away) for the day and took her out to lunch. Much of the day was spent discussing plans for her big birthday party in August. She is turning 100 and we are having a reception at her church and then a dinner at her house for relatives and really close friends. She is trying to micromanage it and keeps clashing with my Aunt who is also micromanaging/organizing the whole thing (from Arizona!). My father (and the rest of us) keep getting pulled into the conflict

I got my gift last week (new lens for my camera) and since DH isn't very into this type of holiday, not much else happened for Mother's Day. DS9 did make me a paper heart with "I love you Mom" on it, so I wasn't totally ignored

Right now, the 2 of them are playing Mario Cart on the Wii and they just asked me to make popcorn for them. On my way to the kitchen I pointed out that it IS Mother's Day - DH told me that was why he was playing with DS ... he is providing "free time" for me! Uh, huh.. sure .. that's the only reason he is playing video games!

OH I was going to tell everyone... DH informed me a little while ago that this cruise IS my mother's day gift since we just booked a few days ago LOL. It's also his b-day gift which is in a week...

100...God Bless Her!!!!

Her side of the family is very long lived. Her brother lived to 98, her sister to 99, one of her cousins was 103 when she passed last summer and her other cousin is around 95 and will be coming to the party. My father once claimed that the "funny names" somehow contributed to long life: Verl (brother), Sadie (sister), Imogene (my Grandmother - pronounced I'm O' Jean!), Hazel and Izetta (cousins)! I suspect that they weren't particularly odd names back when they received them...

Looking for help from my fellow 's.....

My neighbor had to put her kitty down this weekend (15 years old/liver cancer), and she is looking for a poem that was floating around in a chain e-mail some time ago pertaining to a littel girl who had written a letter to God to take care of her pet who had passed away.

If anyone knows of this and could post it, I (and my neighbor) would much appreciate it

Oh my gosh! Robin and David- I cannot believe it has been a year! Hopefully we will meet up at a DIS Meet soon. I bet I will be shocked how big her and Ian are.

Good afternoon all - hope everyone is enjoying their mothers day! We spent the day with MIL and it feels good to be home now relaxing. We got out our excursion choices and decided to change a few things.

In Cabo - DH wants to do the Lands End Coastal Cruise before we hit the beach so hopefully its offered early enough. Is the beach here walkable from the pier? We thought we could do the cruise and then walk to the beach.

P.Vallarta- Kids still want to do pirate sail & snorkel

Acapulco - We have now decided to do the city tour with cliff divers

Cartagena - DH wants to do the Mangroves tour - it sounded like fun so I am game.

Aruba - We decided on the sailing & snorkeling excursion here and then do the beach on our own - is the beach walkable here?

we're still trying to decide on stuff to do...wondering if dcl excursions are the way to go?

good afternoon everyone! where do you look to see opinions on the diff excursions being offered by dcl? is there a website to view what people thought of the diff tours?
