Can't believe how close we are getting to the TOAL. The countdown clock is at 101 days until we go. Pretty soon we'll be in double digits. :cool1: The DL tickets arrived and we've bought the cameras. Today we went out to Costco and they had US Dive snorkel sets as a special in store promo. So, now we've got those (unfortunately more stuff to packet). Anyone else have their own snorkel gear? Are you just bring the mask and snorkel or the fins as well?

Waiting to hear back about an excursion with a fellow DISer in PV and trying to make a decision on Cartagena. Then next week the MAGIC sets sail for the Westcoast and we get to start reading Trip reports. Need to sign up the kids for the kids board and make some door magnets.

I'm going to make a Fish extender as well. Can anyone tell me why they are usually 3 pockets? I was just figuring on doing one pocket.

Yes, I think I've offically shifted into high planning mode. Tax season is over and I can finally just do normal work load for awhile.

Don't know why 3 pockets, but the one I'm still working on has 2. I've still got door magnets to do. So much to do & just not enough time!

I'm trying to figure out if we have enough time after the Zipline in PV to go to an "Evening Horseback Ride,BBQ and Show"

:confused3

BTW -
Talking about books for kids - have any of you read the Piers Anthony "Xanth" series? Fantasy - they've been around for awhile - I ended up reading them too!!!

Also, "The Dragon Riders of Pern" series - can't remember the author at the moment.

My kids and grandkids and I all enjoy the same books!!

There is also the series by Angie Sage:
1) Magyk
2) Flyte
3) Physik

They are Harry Potter /magic/ wizard in style & I enjoyed them. In all there will be 7 in the series & I understand that Warner Bros have already bought the rights to it

Are you zipping with the pirates? If so, I'd probably guess that you would not make it to the horseback riding. The excursion is showing at 6 hours. We leave port at 11:30, so the latest this excursion would start would be 5pm. Most likely it will start earlier than that so that you aren't brought back to the ship with just 30 minutes to spare.

If you're going to zip with DCL, you might be able to make it IF they offer an early morning zip. That excursion is just shy of 5 hours. I'd say you'd probably want to be back to the ship by 3pm to safely make the horseback riding. That would mean you would need a 10am or earlier zip.

You could also consider zipping with a few of us in Cabo. Paula is working on that one.

Just had a though. Maybe Stace or Desiree could check the times of the zips and horseback riding. Then you'll be able to plan it out better.

Roger and Stace,

Thanks for the info on the water taxis. Sounds like the 6 of us will pretty much fill it up. That will probably be a cheaper way to go, and better use of our time too.

Here's my answers:

1) What do you look forward to doing on our first day at SEA? Standing at the railing, drink in hand, feeling the breeze, and looking out at the ocean.

2) What have you signed up for (or are considering) among the various DIS diversions offerred here? IE, have you considered the Secret Mickey or Mickey Ice Cream Eating race? FE, Secret Mickey, some of the tastings, and the speedo parade around Palo.

3) Have you picked up your air fare yet? If so - when are ya coming into town? Yes - we are flying Continental and arriving on the 12th. We're staying at the Disneyland Hotel (Thank you DVC points)

4) Doing anything special or out of the ordinary for this sailing (anniversery - or ??? being marked) Vow renewal on Castaway Cay

5) What movies have you seen lately (or last) in the theater?Spiderwick Chronicles

6) What was the last song played on your MP3 player?... orthat you recall listening to last?"What a Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong

7) What would you propose for the 7th question here? And if you spot someone elses' reply on this - try answering it! IE, you answer the last person's reply here - and YOU put down a 7th question of your own. Please be diplomatic - and feel free to skip backwards to another persons' 7th question if you like that one more! What would DCL have to offer you to give up your spot on the TOAL?

I'm sure I would have a price, but it would have to be HUGE. Maybe forgiveness of my student loans for the last 4 years! Yeah, i would take that!:thumbsup2

This is definitely our last big blowout of a vacation for a while, so we're making the most of it.

I would offer to check times, but still can't get in. I got off the phone with Renee, who has been really nice and fairly helpful, and their IT dept is still trying to get our account figured out. If they fix it and I see that nobody else checked yet, then I'll look it up for you.

Tour of LA

I seem to remember many threads back talk of organising a DIS city seeing trip around LA. Has anything more come of this ?- I can't even remember who volunteered to take this on!

TIA

Celestine

So I will check on the evening horseback and be right back..the other night it wasn't showing as an excursion.

The Evening excursion is showing in the general excursions but when you go into book..it's not there. I will call DCL to see what I can find out.

and spoke with Kevin..he informs me that the excursion is no longer being offered.

Sorry!

This is our first cruise as CC members, so I was wondering if we will need our CC#'s handy when we book Palo and excursions on 5/19. Also, do you need the cards when checking in at the terminal? TIA!

NO and No, they know!

You do not need your card, cross refer your planning kit letter, what date did that show, also the letter to CC members says 'welcome back' Also check your DCL profile, it has a CC member number on it, ( or should have), can you access the CC part of DCL website, if so you are in.

At port, they know you are a CC member, and lastly, I have never been given a CC card ever by DCL, so never used it

Me too, but now I must go get some laundry done! :laundy:

Or, as DD Jordan said...."CINCO de DRINKO"
:drinking: :drinking:

OMG :scared1: she's 98 and just getting her first communion??? Wow, you must age really well to have a DD that old.

OMG :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: It was early this morning and I am still recovering from sleeping on the hard concret floor at the aquarium, give a girl a break!

Hi Stace!
I have 6 in my group, and the past post said to determine a price before setting off. I never know what a good price is if I have not been there before, so what would a good price for 2A and 4 kids be? I don't want to get jipped.
Thanks!

We had been told to expect to pay $1 per person, but the guy wanted $10, so DH gave it to him. I was a little irked, since it was just across the little bay...but my husband feels bad for people who work to make their living that way.

Michelle the going price is from $3-5/pp but could be lower if you have group to fill the boat. Probably $15-20 would be fine for your group.

I guess we didn't overpay!! I'm not irked anymore. Which I'm sure DH will be happy to know, since that was 3 years ago. Guess I'll have to find something else to be irked at him about. ;) ;)

Will read ahead to see if Desiree has done this, if not, I'll look it up in a few minutes:thumbsup2
She's just too fast for me. Thanks, Desiree!!
