I've used the cheapo Target version (post 9-11). They do squish the stuff down so you can get more in a suitcase. The problem is that it doesn't magically make the stuff any lighter now that airlines are so persnickety about the 50 lb. rule.

DS is so nervous about flying by himself. I gave him 2 bags to decide on. The carryon wheely and a small suitcase. The deal breaker on taking the carryon was his toiletries. He needs to take his hair products and a razor. We lent him an electric razor and I offered to put his junk in the small containers for him. When we picked him up this am he had the wheelie but decided to take his razor and all so he checked the darn thing
He got thru the security ok and said they didn't ask to turn on his laptop. He had something to eat and was waiting at the gate. I got him there mucho early..... Kids......He is so nervous.

ya, me and M are up at 0 dark 30.
I used to get up at 4:30 to exercise, but now I go to the gym after work. I get up now at 5ish. I little while ago I logged on to the DIS while I was caffeinating. It's an easier way for me to keep up.

Left the house at 6:10 and after waiting for him to come down, got on I-4 7 and dropped him off at 7:29. Total travel time 1hr and 50 min.( 15 min wait time for him ) And they say we women take long. Not bad.
Last time I got up early was when DD was skating and had to be at the rink before 6. Long long time ago.

Off to make breakfast.

They remind me of the Southern Belles they used to have at Cypress Gardens. Those dresses are huge. And must be heavy as well.

About 2 Decembers ago got to MCO after a weekend at WDW. I did alot of shopping (as usual) and one suitcase was over by 3lbs. They gave me the pay $50 or remove items.So I took exactly 4 different items out..I chose the right ones...came down in weight to exactly 50lbs! The two women at the counter were amazed I got it exactly right...Brendan of couse says..."you shop too much in Disney!" ....Who doesn't right? (BTW they were mostly Christmas gifts!)

AND on another note.. what in the world is everyone planning to do in aculpulco now that we're barely gonna be there? *sigh*
That was gonna be our favorite port and now we're not there long enough to do anything even if we did get up at the crack of dawn and tried to be first off the ship.

DH wanted to scuba dive there but I wanted to do some FAMILY stuff this time. I'm not real keen on just going around by myself out of the states.. and it doesn't appear we have enough time to do both things that short day. And I'm not keen on doing a lot of stuff this trip like last time- with DH off scuba diving and ME doing everything with the kids. So DH may have to just forget about scuba diving there on that short day. is all I'm saying. LOL

So what are y'all planning on doing that short time in acupulco?

I think we are going with a DCL excursion. I am not brave enough to do it on my own in that short a period. We are going to do one of the excursions that includes the cliff divers.

And by the way when are they going to have our excursions up (with times) for us to start looking at. I mean we are going to make ressies in what 45 days.

We had an interesting night.
There was a huge hail storm at 3:21 this morning. Very intense, emergency sirens etc. I turned on the TV and the normal morning newscasters were on. They sure had a long night too.
Everything looks fine this morning. Spring in North Texas is always interesting.
BTW, those surprised we get under the stairs in bad weather- there are no basements in Texas. Something about the water table etc. So.... here you just get in the lowest internal room and hope for the best.

Good morning everyone - Happy Friday!

I'm all alone in the office this morning (DS is on spring break so my folks took him to a hotel with an indoor waterpark. They left yesterday afternoon and will be back sometime this afternoon. My assistant only works Tues-Thurs, so I'm all by myself) It is 39 degrees and overcast. Supposedly, it is going to make it into the 60's tomorrow and be sunny - but I'm trying not to get my hopes up - I think spring may just be a myth!
