I think some folks were looking into the VIP Tours for DL. Just wanted to let you know that the price has changed. It used to be $75 per hour with a 4 hour minimum. It's now $125 per hour with a 6 hour minimum.

At least now I know I'm in good company.

Do they go to our TA first and then to us?

My TA told me tonight that she called DCL and was told they are sending them out in batches . . . they go directly to you and we should get them soon!

:thumbsup2 To the very entertaining April Fools news stories.

Chrissie -
I'm too lazy to scoll back through 57 threads, especially since I can't remember if it was here or on the main cruise board, but I have a vague recollection that someone called Enterprise (the actual port location, not corporate) & was told that they would be open on Sundays this summer when Magic was in port. Makes business sense to me.

You might want to call them directly if you want to rent a car. Otherwise, drop it off Sat. morning near DL and join us on the party bus.

I finally booked my car rental for the trip. Boy, I am so used to getting great deals on rental cars in FL. No such thing for this trip. Unfortunately, Enterprise is the only rental that has offices in both Long Beach and San Pedro so I am kind of stuck. They are charging me a $40 drop off fee for San Perdo - YUK!

Thanks for the info. The Enterprise location was showing closed on Sundays when I checked last. I just called and booked a full-size car for 1 day, the one day rental is $65 including taxes and a $25 drop-off fee. I'm not sure why our drop off fee is lower. :confused3 We're picking up at Burbank airport, maybe that makes a difference? Or maybe because it's only a weekend rental? I called a number that was listed specific to California rentals. It was 866-207-8836 if you want to make an attempt at saving $15.

I thought tday was going to be just an average day (ok with the kids trying to pull April Fool's jokes on me:rotfl2: ).But it wasn't!

So today one of my kids at my afterschool program-child happensto be on the autism spectrum-cleaned up an area with out being asked (huge deal for this guy!)So,because I love positive reinforcement,I made a big deal when mom came to pick him up. Put my arm around his shoulder and thanked him and said "you did such a great job! Thanks for helping out!".He then gave me a hug:hug: and a kiss on the cheek! (Big deal because he is not a touchy feely kid. I also knew it was huge because mom had to pick her jaw up off the ground!)

So with an event like that makes me feel as if I made a difference in at least one little guy's life!:cloud9:

Just wanted to share.

Chrissie

That's an awesome story Chrissie! Congrats on making a difference!

We were going to do it for $300, but not for $750 !:scared1:
Thanks for the heads up though, Monica.

That's really awesome...You probably made his mom's week. Serving on our county's MR/DD Board, I know how stressful daily life can be on families and how little successes can mean alot.

Crossing this off our list of "maybe if we can afford it" list...

Thanks for the heads up!

Hi everyone!

I have a question for our DL experts. When can we start making ADRs for the DL restaurants? I was thinking we might try some of the character meals. Any recommendations? Also, are there any other not-to-be-missed restaurants (that are also kid-friendly) that we should consider?

Thanks for your help!
Kim

60 days

Character Meals
Our favorite is Goofy's Kitchen, they do brunch and dinner. But brunch starts at like 7:30 or 8am, so it really is breakfast.

We've done Ariel's, Lilo and Stitch and Plaza Inn when it was princesses, it's Minnie and friends now. We did not have a pleasant experience at any of those. Although others have had great times. The only one we have done but it does consistently get good reviews is Chip and Dale breakfast at Storyteller's.

Other Meals
We don't really have any must do's for non-character meals. Blue Bayou is nice as a splurge since it is pricy. And you can't beat the atmosphere, eating inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. If you want the famous Monte Cristo, its only served at lunch. But you can also get it at Cafe Orleans.

We've got a few must do counter services places, French Market and Bengal Barbecue. Other good ones are Pizza Port and Rancho del a Zocalo (or something close to that LOL).

Dining at DL is a different animal than at WDW. There are not as many table service places. And it's not as competitive to get PS's (called Priority Seating at DL, not ADR) as WDW.

More info on our website
Roger created some blogs for the restaurants

And I put some reservation info there as well

I'm bad? Me? Good to see you in the spirit

I got both DSs this morning.

ME: Hey guys I saw on the news last night that Governor Rendell is trying to pass a law by the end of May. It's going to keep all kids in Pennsylvania schools going to school through the summer.

BOTH DSs: WHAAAT, NO FAIR

ME: Yeah, & the real kicker for us is we'll have to cancell vacation.

BOTH DSs: WHHHAAAATTT ???

ME: And, on top of all of that, it's April 1st today.

OLDEST DS: MOOOOOMMMMMYYYYYYY, you stink

yeah, I love April fools day

Help . . I accidently went to the 5/11 trip instead. It was quite confusing . ..LOL

Has anyone else on GTY gotten their room assignments yet? Do we have to pay in full BEFORE they give us our room? Ummmm . . .
