Wow, I skip a weekend of posts and have nearly 50 pages of ketchup between the old and new threads. Loved the April fool's posts in particular as the humor is needed after driving back and forth across Kansas this past weekend.
We got hit with a huge bill when getting a new roof after our insurance claim last year. We put our house up for sale about two months after a hail storm last year and didn't know it was damaged. When the buyer did their inspection, they said we hail damage. We had our agent find someone independent and they agreed that their was hail damage. After deducting the "depreciation" on the existing roof, we were stuck paying nearly $5,000 for a new roof for the buyers. You think you have coverage and the insurance company pulls something like this. They claimed that it was standard to do that in our area as we were hail prone. This after the insurance company kept warning me that if we submit a claim, we'll have higher insurance premiums in the future.
OUCH! We've never had that happen to us! Of course my county has the most hail/tornado/storm/flooding damage of any other county in the entire US.

There was an article in the paper either this weekend or Monday about all of last years damages -- there is actually a neighborhood that was condemned because of 2 floods in one season and now no one can live there. I think a couple of people died in the 1st flood through the neighborhood last Spring.
