When we were at the Drs the other day, I picked up a magazine that had a whole section devoted to skin cancer. With all the moles etc being biopsied and all, I thought this link may be of interest to those dealing with it. https://www.womenandcancermag.com/WarRoom.aspx?LinkId=53018

Contacted my TA. She has only just received the kits for Aug 10 cruise! For those that have already received their's - can you spill the beans on what is (or is not) in it.

Just taken delivery of a wheeled soft sided cooler for the cruise. They are hard to come by in the UK so was rather much more than the $20 or so I've seen some of you getting them for!

Currently working on my FE & it's taking rather much longer than anticipated - thank goodness I started early!

I am keen to get my kit! For the Med cruises it was on ITUNES as well to download.

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday afternoon. It killed me to work this morning, but I get comp time so that's cool. On the way home I found a Del Taco place! I was shocked, I figured it was a west coast thing. It's about 10-15 miles from my place, so maybe I'll have to go check it out sometime.

Happy Capt.!pirate:

I want my DCL Packet! I think it will go to Brendan's house! Man I will never get it!

We had this Chipotle place open up...tried it and DELICIOUS!

stacey- I had no idea you were so against crocs. LOL I used to be- couldn't imagine they wouldn't have my feet sweating and blisters-- but they don't. I even got a pair for winter- they have the fluffy sheep looking stuff inside that you can take out and wash. I have them on right now. I care not about fashion statements apparently. :lmao: I'm all about comfort! I do like my flipflop (what we used to call thongs...) crocs the best though. It's just a bit too cold to wear them again yet.. soon though!

I saw the picture of the lines you found though- those are cute! and give a little lift to us shorties.. hmmm I may have to get some of those!

I actually bought a pair of these in black and white for the cruise! I have regular crocs in blue and two styles of sandal crocs that I just love for the comfort!

I too, LOVE my crocs! I have incredibly flat feet (actually my chiropractor used to say I had the flattest he had ever seen, until DH started seeing him! :rotfl2: - poor DS doesn't have a chance at decent feet) and for years wore only athletic shoes with custom made orthotic inserts. I would occasionally get to wear a sandal or dressy shoe for a special event, but could only wear them for a few hours before my feet started hurting (soon followed by knees, hips, back, etc.) I first read about crocs here on the DIS when they first came out - they weren't readily available yet, but I bought a pair to give them a try. They may be ugly, but at least they don't look like a gym shoe! They have been wonderful for me - my feet do not sweat in them and the support is fantastic. I still wear my orthotics a few days a week, but the other days I get to wear different colors of crocs. I even have a couple pairs of Mickey crocs. When you have worn gym shoes every day for over 15 years, it is amazing how exciting it is to see actual colors on your feet! I have a couple pair of croc sandals that I can wear for several hours without too much trouble - so those are a nice change when we are going out. I still occasionally wear a non-croc dressy shoe for special events, and am still limited to a couple of hours - I usually take a pair of croc sandals with me to change to if needed!

They may be ugly, but I couldn't imagine living without them! I will definitely have crocs with me on the TOAL. :thumbsup2

There I think we are upside down now. Look a peanut.

Afetr reading M's story about anatomically correct names, I don't think that I can look at this phrase the same way anymore!

No planning pack for me, but DVC mail takes about 4 weeks to arrive to the UK!!!! Will e-mail my TA to see if it's gone to her instead. Yes, I know #4 is still open, but it's Friday & my brain is tired so I'll just carry on from here...

Celestine

NO DVC planning kit for me yet either.:confused3

As far as Crocs go, my wife swears by them, so I got a pair. They were OK to start, but I ended up with a blister on my toe and the back of my heel. So now I just stick to my sneakers for the parks.

It has the same info I got on my last cruise. Lots of generic info. Gifts you can buy.Overview of ship , clubs, etc...insurance plan, and a page for those of us wanting to rent the mens formal wear with prices.$95 for the black or white outfit plus what the extras cost.

This is the cover

This is the planning guide. Very generic.Hope it helps.

I was even thinking that Megan would be really comfortable with these under her wedding dress. Her colors ARE green and yellow afterall!

For those who missed it on the Part Four thread:

Thanks Stace:goodvibes Those don't look so bad. I may try a pair of those:confused3 I have wide feet and the crocs just make them look wider, so I've held off trying them. I don't do well in heels though:rolleyes:

Stace, I have a degenerative disc problem and walking was extremely painful. I bought a pair of Crocs and was astounded at how I could walk and not have the pain I experienced in my reg walking sneaks. They did take some getting used to how ugly they are but I don't have the sweating problem either.
Have to get some for my Mom, she just got out of the hospital with a herniated spinal disc:sad2: Thanks:thumbsup2

Crocs just introduced a bunch of new styles. Take a look at www.crocs.com - I think "Adara" looks nice. I have a pair of "Cleo" from last summer and people don't even realize I'm wearing crocs - I've had folks ask "where are your crocs?" when I am wearing them!

When are you going in June? I will be down there too....
Chrissie

We wil be there 6/21-6/26. We had to rwork really hard to squeeze in a trip at all with the girls schedule. We will be at the Wilderness Lodge.

I can't wear heels anymore since the surgery, but I can wear a wedge. Wedges to me were always more comfortable anyway.

I hate shoes because none are comfortable but... I have to have a black dress show for the cruise. I tried on a pair of Softt black wedges that I was astounded how comfortable they were. I truly feel like I could wear them for hours. Here is the link:
http://www.thewalkingcompany.com/Co...search&criteria=All&text=sofft&oldpagetag=All

I am not 100% in love with them but I think they meet all of my criteria for comfort and not too ugly.

Oh! We miss each other...we are there 6/11-6/15!

Chrissie

Dang. That is closer to when I really wanted to go but MiL has other plans for Megan. We know it will be hot and crowded and we have been so many times before we are not going to push ourselves too much.

I would probably get them in black/white- would match more stuff than the dis green, although I for one have nothing against the green like some people do....... LOL

What I received is the same as what pictures were shown by Arlene... we just received ours yesterday. No biggie really.

I can't wear heels anymore since the surgery, but I can wear a wedge. Wedges to me were always more comfortable anyway.
ditto! I can't do heels but I can do wedgies!

Back on the subject of crocs- my husband also has issues with needing major arch in his tennis shoes and uncomfortable in shoes without the arch- he did not like the looks of crocs but I bought him a pair for our last (and only so far) cruise and now he's hooked. He puts them on for everyday home/taking kids to park/etc. use than he puts on any other shoes including tennis shoes. ;) He says they are very comfortable!
Personally as I said- I prefer the flipflop type and I've ALWAYS been one that couldn't wear flipflops because the part that goes between the toes HURT me. but with the crocs- doesn't hurt... it's all soft. :)
I like the wedges but I'll have to try on a pair before I buy them- because no matter how heavy *I* get my feet are always skinny skinny and narrow I can't wear wedges if my foot falls thru it and toes hang off the end. So I'll have to make sure it's narrow enough to hold my feet up in there. I hope so!

Who is taking the chartered bus from resort or HoJo/etc. to the port? Just curious

Wench's brunch- Sea Day Activity – Limited seating PM Grandma x3 for info and availability.
(Task Force Leader Grandma x3)

Join the ladies in Palo for a sophisticated Pirate brunch.

Beer/Wine/Tequila/Martini Tastings (as a group) – e-mail to participate
(Task Force Leaders got2travel and MrsScooby)

Have you ever wanted to learn the difference between Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc? Have you wondered whether the rule really is white with fish, red with beef? Does the term “shaken not stirred” mean anything to you other than James Bond ? Are you just as confused as I am.....Barley, Hops, Pilsner, Lager, Stout..... what does it all mean? “Lick, Slam, Suck” - no it's not x-rated but do you know what it means? Come join us for group tastings. We are working on arranging private tastings during our sea days. At this time we do not have specific details, but we are looking for a show of interest. We are requesting Wine, Beer, Tequila, Rum and Martini tastings. No, we will not be tasting all those at the same time. There will be separate sessions planned for each. And for those of you (like me ) who want to attend them all, they will be scheduled at different times. (And hopefully different days!) These will be exactly like the tastings that DCL regularly schedules, but will be limited to those folks in our group. Each tasting will cost $12-15 per person (subject to DCL's current rates).
