I am at the Carousel Inn and Suites for the 15 & 16 and doing DL on the 16th only.

We'll see you at DL.

Thanks for the memories - that is where I went to college!

Ah, the Party College...

Where is there a place to by booze around DL? Inquiring minds would like to know!

Check the piratezone, I think this info is posted there.
.

I thought I read somewhere before that the late dining has a waitlist on the EB Repo cruise, but that main dining does not. Why is that? We currently have late dining as we were nervous about always having to rush to get ready for dinner (on our last cruise we had to be there by 5:45). However, I have to admit I'm a little nervous about late dining with three kids who are used to eating before 7 every night.

We did late dining on our previous cruises, and were very happy with the later dining. Although, the last cruise had us at 8:30 seating, it was a bit too late. We booked late dining for the repo. Roger, Goofyonthehighseas, pointed out for us East coasters, it would be like eating at 11:00. With that, I switched to early.

After reading the posts, I think I am confused....everyone is talking about the DL meet, but I was assuming the 15, 16 of August, not March. Is everyone talking about the DL meet this coming week?? If so, sorry, I was thinking about the one closer to the cruise! :flower3:

I wish I could go this coming week, but our spring break isn't until the following week. I hope everyone has a great time!!:)

Somebody stop this ride......I want to get off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In upper management's infinite wisdom :sad2: we are going to be reorganized again. This means possible lay offs.

Same thing happened this time last year (and the year before that and the year before that and so on). I ended up safe although I was a target. I got reassigned to a different job. I hate the job I have right now. I haven't been able to get the hang of things so I'm probably the lowest performer. That plus all the time I've had to take off with DS's illnesses.

So I'm not feeling too confident this time around. Not sure where I'll land. They said all decisions should be made by April.

On top of that, they've announced that managers are not allowed to plan non-refundable vacations for April - Dec of 2009. We will be in contract negotiations with our union employees. And if they decide to strike than all managers are on mandatory duty. They are giving us plenty of notice so that no one can try to get out of it. Oh, and unless we can prove it would be a hardship, they can assign us to work anywhere in the country.

The fun just never stops. Thank God that in just 24 hours I will be sitting in the airport waiting for my plane to LA.

oh, Monica, that all stinks. Except the plane to LA.
sending mucho pixie dust your way.

Most of the talk was about August. Especially the Fantasmic meet.

That stinks Monica.
Would a fireman cheer you up?
:firefight

I would be so mad if I was this kid's Mom:headache: Suspended from school for buying candy plus additional punishments:scared1: Talk about going overboard:sad2:
Who didn't buy candy when they were in school:confused3

That's just crazy!

We had this whole thing going on in our school also. We eat pretty decent at home and I am all for having healthy choices available at school. We got a letter banishing cupcakes, etc. from kids birthdays and class parties. HA! I sent in cupcakes and told the teach that I would find an alternative when the school stopped calling nachos and mozzarella sticks a lunch entree.

I'm sooo jealous of the DL meet you guys have. So far we are not planning to get to DL this time

Don't be too jealous yet... I've been telling my boss since last year that i was taking this trip and he refuses to sign my leave slip. He's leaving for a new position at the end of this week and i gave the leave slip to the division director (my boss's boss who is staying) and he doesn't want to sign this early either.

Carp double carp... Come August i may just have to take a leave of absence or have my dr write a "You have to let her take two weeks off or she will go psychotic on you" note

are you emailing back to confirm? I sent you an email & would hate to miss being linked. You're the bomb for doing this.

oh carp you wanted organization too.... i did get yours Lisa.

I think maybe i need a thread on pirate zone....

Must have been a really slow news day...but since it involves pirates...

Actors who look like they smell bad

Johnny Depp
It must be hard being the most desirable man in the world. Maybe that’s why Johnny Depp hides behind cartoonishly awful ensembles, like his ill-fitting pants, the grungy fedoras and those plucked-fresh-from-the-dumpster shoes. I can’t tell you how many times my best gal pal and I have sighed at the sight of Johnny only to add, “too bad he probably smells like cigarettes and dirty clothes.” We won’t ever get close enough to find out, but still! And not to belabor the cigarette thing, but Johnny smokes hand-rolled sticks exclusively. So all that foul gunk that normally ends up in a filter? It coats his hands and teeth instead.

Orlando Bloom
What happened to fresh-faced Orlando Bloom circa 2003? Remember that clean-cut cutie at the “Lord of the Rings” premieres? Sigh. Seems like a greasy haired doppelganger took his place ages ago. Maybe after three “Pirates of the Caribbean” installments the poor hygiene pirate’s life actually took hold. Whatever it is, it’s not a good look for him. Orlando’s girlfriend reportedly thinks so, too. “He’ll wear the same jeans for a week before he throws them in the washer.” And if that wasn’t specific enough, “Same goes for his sweaters, T-shirts and socks.” Ew!

ok i'm really skeeved out.... and i thought college guys were slobs.

I heard someone talk once (forget where) about why do women think capt jack is sexy because in today's world someone with teeth like that would be nasty.

I agree. Every time i watch the movie now...all i see are those nasty teeth. Makes me want to run to brush and floss...

OK bedtime now...(since this stupid timechange has me so messed up. Maybe by friday i will be on-time for work for once. i was a half hour late all week so far.)

Monica, I'm sorry about the rollercoaster your company seems to be stuck on right now ... sometimes those "powers" have so little connection with reality :sad2: ... but I digress, I'm an HR geek ... and although you might already know this, or someone else beat me to it ... your job CANNOT be in jeopardy because of DS's illnesses. Happy to give you more details if you want/need them. Just PM me and I can talk more specifics if you want

Monica.....I hope you weather this storm as well.  I remember the rough times you went through last year!!! Tell them it will be a hardship if you are not with us!!!:grouphug: :grouphug:

What are the different early and late seatings to help us choose? I think 8:00 p.m. would be great, especially if that's when everyone else from here is dining.

DCL has not decided if there is going to be rotation dining such as 6:00,6:15 or 6:30 pm. for Early Dining and 8:00,8:15 or 8:30 pm. for late. We are requesting 6:00 for Captains dining to join your Dis friends. We are requesting 8:00 late or Crew(Traitors) to join your Dis friends.

Most people with children have chose early but there is over 40 of us so far that have late as well. I guess whatever you think is best for your own family.:flower3:

We are going to have to cheer you up over the weekend. Lots of candy?
I could use lots of pictures so I feel like I was with all of you!!!:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

Thanks for the support. I do know that his illness can't be used against me. But I feel like if I hadn't had so much time off and been so distracted, I'd be performing better at the job. Then again performance really doesn't play that much of a part. Last time around I was the top performer but still got targetted for lay offs because I was not working on any of the front burner projects.

I couldn't quite make out the tiny legends on the original map so I googled a better marked map with Rangiora listed. I just noticed United has just responded to an air fare war of sorts with Virgin Atlantic .... and one of the promo air fares cited was to NZ for what I think was $888 (probably plus fees and taxes). Does this sound pretty good? I tell ya... one of these days I'm gonna bring the family down to NZ... however, it is likely to be in our summer when the kids are out of school ... and if I can swing it I understand they run cruises to Antartica from your ports. That changes the whole dymanic in expense - but the opportunity encourages the pursuit.

BTW... I was trying to usegoogle Earth to get some close up satillite imagery and came up with these shots in your area ...
You never mentioned it was a WAR ZONE!....

Canterbury%20map%20.Jpg

On this map - where you see Oxford is exactly where we are buying (we had confirmation from the bank today!).

That sounds like a good airfare price. I'm not sure what it is usually but that sounds a lot cheaper than prices I see quoted locally to the US.

If you are keen on Antartica, you can also go from Chile. They only go Dec-Feb though. The US Airforce have a base here at the airport and they fly these huge aircraft down fairly regularly over the summer season. One of the guys at work, works part time on the base in the IT dept, and part time for the company I work for.

As for the war zone, its fine as long as you avoid the ringwraith. :rotfl:
