You know J.R.........figures the first & only winter I am here it has to be a record setting one at that.:rolleyes1 6th snowiest one yet!!!! Did I ever tell you I HATE THE SNOW !!!! I leave Sat. morning for a Hotel for 2 days then fly out Mon. morn. Yes I wish we could've met also.:sad2: Planning your next cruise yet?

Yes, this has been a particularly nasty winter. And it isn't over yet.

SWMBO and I have been talking about cruising in 2009 but that will wait until after Europe (21 days, 23 hours, 28 minutes). 2009 vacation budget might be going to finishing the basement though...

Don't you get some of the storms that pass by DC?

Storms :confused3 I don't see no stinkin' storms...

Honestly the last little bit of snow we had barely amounted to anything....

Compared to Pennsyltucky storms...It's a cakewalk down here...

It also helps that we bought a CRV (4WD) and the only time it's seen any real snow was on a couple drives to visit relatives in PA.

During the first year we moved to MD (winter 03) we had a big storm of over 3 feet. Boy did that parylze people for a week. (slackers:confused: )

2nd prize is.................Autograph Copy ( Color ) Of Nicholas Cage

I vote i get Nick...... (since he's on my top 10 list) ;)

Well I have Cheryl on the now..........can't type and talk at the same time.:rolleyes1

Well Tina's outta commisssion for at least an hour then...:rolleyes1

Slide1.jpg

Ha!! As if i'd leave them any.... I call dibs on the crispy ones... I malabsorp fats remember.....

If y'all spell it ya'll, they'll think you are either a Yankee or graduated from the University (sic) of Georgia...

And remember not to work real fast or they'll peg you as a northerner for sure. :rotfl: (true story from my DBIL who moved to Tallahassee this year)

My wife had same thing, same place about 2 months before our wedding. Mohs surgery left her with black eye and she told everyone I hit her....

I saw your wife's picture up close on the other pirate sight and she looks quite lovely. Hope I have the same result.

In honor of Rebecca's (SWMBO-Jr) 6th birthday today, I had to post some photos of the "Princess Birthday Extraganza and Pool Party" we held last weekend:

Happy birthday. My 6 yo would love to have a photo of herself doing the super model thing. However, neither me nor her dad are ready for it yet!

 I feel like we're outcasts. Kind of like sitting at the small table for Thanksgiving. It'll come soon enough... only about 2-1/2 months till deadline.

Hey Joel, would ya pass me the spuds? :rotfl:

...so there is a great conspiracy to drive me absolutely nuts at work.
It's been a long time since I was paid to babysit. Arrrgghhhh!
I need a vacation.

oh wait...and we had at least had morning and afternoon recess in addition to lunch. Now the kids can't even go outside at lunch because people are so psycho-paranoia. (Even at the HS level)

And they wonder why kids can't sit still in class. :hyper:

...and gosh, I wonder why all kids want to do is sit on the couch and play video games when they are home...

So...we should boil our snow before eating it then?:confused3

:lmao: but how do you re-flake snow? :confused3

Cute kid, JR.
Must take after SWMBO

Ok fess up time!

From December 31st to last week I lost 2 stone, about 4 Ilbs a week, last week I did 'extra' exercise. walked a lot more, keep my diet on and was very good, and put ON a Ilb, just the one, but put it on, when I expected it to be my best week ever and I have had to pay a fine.
:sad1:

4 LBS. A WEEK???? That's awesome. Gosh, with the conversion rate, that's like 8-9 pounds here in the U.S. :)

Weight loss makes no sense! I'll admit to being a bum this week - ate too much, didn't move enough - and lost .5 lb. Two weeks ago I worked out like crazy, watched what I ate & gained 1.5.

I'm happy to be down this week, but kicking myself for what I could be down if I'd actually worked out and not eaten so much. I like food.

Well dang. My "little biopsy" turns out to be basal cell cancer. The bad thing is this on the side of my nose. At least I will be easily identifiable on the cruise cause I will have only half a nose!:lmao:
Oh well! We all have something.

Coral

Well that sucks.
:grouphug:

Oh I can see we will be having challenges - I wanna see - BTW M, on pirate: buffet - your DH isn't the one that hogs all the turkey legs does he? I always miss them - when I find that culprit! (;) )

Drat! I have a great photo reply, but I'm on the wrong computer.

HUGE< BIG< EXCITING NEWS

I have decided to give up 1st and 2nd prizes that I had for my dis-meet party, and donate them to the TOAL !!!

Way cool prizes!

Thanks everyone for the get well wishes on my foot. Its really painful today - not putting any weight on it until I know I can - I go to see the Orthopedic dr. tomorrow - first available appt. I took the rest of the week off work and will just dis and rest!

Sorry about your foot.
DIS and resting is the best medicine!

Imagine if I had no nose. My DD asked where I was going to put my sunglasses. She said I needed an assistant to hold them on.

Maybe the guy who holds P Diddy's umbrella is looking for a new job.:cool2:

There's one thing wrong with that - my kids wouldn't be caught dead in soccer jerseys! :)

Now you know Andrew, muscle weighs more than fat!

Coral,
I hope all works out well. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the positive attitude. As I understand it this is one of the most treatable forms with a very high success rate.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me. I have a job interview next week. It is with the same firm, but a different office and position...and hopefully a raise. My current department is not big on upward mobility. I am pretty much at the top.

More ice and snow here today - yuck. So much fun slip sliding to work this morning.

Coral: I won't preach because I am sure you got that from the Dr. The good news is........They found it !!! I can only imagine how :scared1: it was to hear that word. So they are going to take care of before cruise and you will be all better and everyone will be telling you a million times..........Coral do ya put more sunscreen on your face?:thumbsup2

Feel free to vent, cry, laugh, whatever you need to do. I know I do.:rolleyes1 I have a drooping eye from my stroke. We will fit right in together.;)

And I have a bad heart and bum knees! :rotfl2:

I thought I was going to make it through this winter without getting the flu, but no such luck.. Got sick on Sunday with fever, cough and chills and finally woke up this morning without the fever so I went into work. Luckily I didn't have too much at work to catch up on. Of course catching up here was a different story:laughing:
I just skimmed through the last 15 pages or so. So glad there wasn't a pirate run.

Good afternoon. I have a problem and could use a little help, my stress level is maxed with wedding planning and now this. My fiance was told that he is losing his job because they are "restructuring" the sales department. They told all the sales team that they would have to apply and interview for this newly restructured position. 25 people losing their jobs, restructured to 12 positions.

Chris was the first they interviewed last week. Chris just called and found out that another sales team received the interview questions and were able to prepare. To me that is an unfair advantage to the rest of the people and other teams and kind of like favortism. In the government this would be a big problem and would have to go to the Solicitors Office to review, but not sure how it is in the Private Sector. What should Chris do, go to HR? Go to his boss? He is afraid that if he goes to HR that it will lesson his chance of getting the job and be seen as the trouble maker. I told him to do it after he finds out next week who gets the job and he said then it would look like he was mad that he didn't get the job and is making stuff up. They don't have any physical evidence, just hear say. HELP!!
From my experience, private companies pretty much do what they want:confused3 I would get the resume together just in case. Hope it works out:hug:

My Mom had the same cancer in the same spot:eek: A coworker also-same cancer same spot. If I recall, for my co-worker, it just looked like a tiny rash on his face after the treatment. Only noticed it when he started talking about it in fact. It faded pretty quickly too. I think maybe that area of skin heals fast:confused3 Thanks for sharing Coral:hug: , makes me realize I have to get to the Dr to get a screening done.

Thanks everyone for the get well wishes on my foot. Its really painful today - not putting any weight on it until I know I can - I go to see the Orthopedic dr. tomorrow - first available appt. I took the rest of the week off work and will just dis and rest!

Coral -     I am so sorry about your news, I am so glad though you have such a wonderful attitude!

Hope your foot trouble is something they can fix easily:hug: At least you'll get a lot of TOAL planning done this week:)

I'm still recovering from the stupid flu,
Pamela
Me too:sick: Great for the diet though:rolleyes:

DVC Member Alert

The new Disney Files magazine has a list of DL restaurants that give DVC members a 10% discount including the Blue Bayou (is that where y'all are eating soon?)

Also an article on the new show on board the Wonder - Toy Story the Musical.

I haven't heard of this magazine, Tom. Is it only for DVC Members? I really miss the Disney Magazine that they used to publish. The online Disney Insider email just doesn't work for me. I like looking at a hard copy.

Hello, Everyone

Finally "ketchup" again. Man this thread moves fast some days. Our family is a member of "NPIF" club as well. Not sure if my TA was notified about the increase - haven't heard from her , so I assume not.

Hugs  to everyone that is having health or work issues. Seems to be alot of that going around right now.

Wish the TOAL was next week - I need a vacation. My counter says there is only 162 more days to go til we leave for California.

Mickey Bar question - may sound a little silly but I've only been on a 4 day cruise. I know you can get them thru room service and in the dining rooms. But, where are they to be found on deck 9?

...OK now I'm on the right computer!

Oh I can see we will be having challenges - I wanna see - BTW M, on pirate: buffet - your DH isn't the one that hogs all the turkey legs does he? I always miss them - when I find that culprit! (;) )

Word of advice to all pirates - beat DH to the buffet!
I personally think those things are foul (pun intended).

So Laura, do you know about the hidden turkey leg in WDW??
