In fact they are made here in Louisville at Mother's Cookies. I don't know if they are the only baker for them or not though. My BIL works there. That being said I have not bought a box of cookies in years--I would open it and before I knew what happened the whole box was gone:confused3 :confused3 Now when they are outside the stores selling them, I just give them some money for their troop funds.:)

Funny how that happens huh? ;)

BTW - I mentioned in Chat last night that the heavy rain here caused our garage/storeroom to flood and the emergency sirens/ermergency message on TV warned those near the creek in our town and the town next to us needed to evacuate.
So Update - storeroom is a mess - creek waters subsided - emergency over. However, more heavy rain expected tomorrow - have no idea how to keep the water out of garage.
Also, I'm delaying my trip to L.A. until this series of storms are gone. Saw a couple of bad accidents on the streets around here and am not going to take chances on the highways during storms.

I was thinking of you Chris! Sorry to hear that you're taking in water, but glad you are safe!

Hollywood, we have have Bond, James Bond, and why do they film here so much?

"Once mighty empire, slightly used." I have a good answer to that, but If I posted it, I would be off these boards for ever, a DJ said it once and got sacked.

"At least we're not French." True, ( apart for 50% of me).

"No motto please, we're British." True ''we're British'' says it all, a touch of class.

Apple computers?

Fish and chips, yes, I accept that one, but in Epcot Harry Ramsdens seems to be very popular.

Now I have to go to bed, so if anyone thinks this is a USA VS UK bash, I am only joking. (crossed fingers) :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I was personally enjoying all the banter! Some of us Americans really do have a sense of humor! :goodvibes

Oh & don't forget Hugh Laurie! My DD & her ST friends all think House is the best show on TV! :confused3

Our own pdarrah (Pam) won a prize at the virtual house party

Glad to hear that you and Paul are OK. Stay safe!

When I get some definitive information back from him. I will be happy to share. This is the email I sent him and his response back.

Paula, that sounds like a great tour. Please count us in as interested too!

Congrats Pamela!

:lmao: Gracias:thumbsup2
I had some Spanish in high school, but it is very rusty:rolleyes1
I saw some translators in the Sharper Image store that looked cool. Anybody try one of those ?

I took Spanish in college (w/A's no less) but can't speak (read though)!
What's a translator?

There's a few of us in Chat Room 2 right now...comeon over!!

Funny how that happens huh? ;)

Diane & Mike - Thanks!! We only experience secondary run off problems- messy but not threatening as some have w/mud slides and trees crashing!
Mike I added you to the list - I think a smaller private tour w/all of us will be more cost effective & more FUN than the DCL tour.

This is a copy of the email I sent and his reply. I sent him back--no mobility issues and maybe a few would be interested in emerald shopping, but most probably in regular souv. I'll keep you informed about the progress. I used 24 as a number where I thought we would be able to get the best rate.Paula

I believe that in 7 hours (10-5) you should be able to do both. Let me find
out what options are now available for Baru and beach type things, figure
out the lunch possibilities, and then work it into a full day tour with the Old
City as well.

Are there going to be any (all?) of the group that will want emerald and
higher-end shopping options? Only souvenirs?

Also, are there any mobility issues with anyone that I should take into
cosideration?

I did not even realize that Disney was going to have a ship arriving in
Cartagena in the normally "off" month of August. Let me work on this a bit
and get back to you.

So when I get an itinerary back and costs it will be easier to say yes you would be interested. And I am sure that he would be delighted to have a group larger than 24. Chris said that she would help me. :goodvibes

Thanks so much Paula:thumbsup2

I'm more for the history sites (walled city, fort, etc.), general shopping and emerald shopping. I would rather skip the beach. Maybe we can have 2-3 smaller groups rather than one big one:confused3

I am really grateful for all the research that you and others are doing. I'm just kinda riding on everyone's coat tails, so to speak.

I think we are all for removing the poll -- Crash would do it if he were online.

Tom! Now Tinkerbell can live! You DO believe in fairies, you DO!

But of course I do! Who here doesn't? Every time I watch the fireworks at MK I see one start them off!

Yeah, I was just thinking that I would rather go on a smaller DIS group tour than a big DCL one.
And as Andrew pointed out if we stick to approved sites and transports we should be fine:)

Who speaks Spanish ?

Donde esta el bano?
Una cervesa por favor.

All you need to know

Ok, went out for an innocent errand run. Stopped off at Goodwill and dropped off 7 large bags full of stuff. DS had a bunch of toys he was ready to give away. Decided to take him to Cold Stone for a treat but we passed by Levitz. Our store is going out of business. Not sure if its the whole company or just our store. Anyway, everything is 60-80% off. Just for giggles decided to see if they had any decent bedroom sets left. I've toyed with the idea of getting either a full or queen size for DS since he has now passed me up by 2 inches.

Found a nice set with a bookcase headboard and drawers under the bed. I think these are called catain's beds. It was in great conidtion, not sold yet and only $303 out the door. Saw a matching 6 drawer dress and that only added another $150. So now I've got a disassembled bed and chest of drawers in my living room waiting for DS to clear out his room more so we can fit it all in.

Wow , you pirate: ed a Captains Bed ...Hmmm sounds like a good Pirate to me

Ah but they do not have Cadbury's proper Chocolate, the one thing I have never found is good Chocolate in the USA. Hersey's just doesn't do it for me, I toured their factory, it was nice to see, but ah Cadbury's Chocolate! One place we are better than USA, (well that and our TV).

Now I would agree with you on the chocolate (I do like Godiva- I think it's American:confused3 )

Not sure about the tv since I only watch American:goodvibes

Told you, cant beat our Chocolate! why is yours so bad????

Also other great British exports:-

  • Winnie the pooh.
  • Nature programmes.
  • Dancing with the stars. (Strictly come dancing)+ Len and Bruno
  • Cat Deely- please keep.
  • Simon Cowell-Please shoot.
  • Fern Cotton and Ant and Dec, watch out their coming!

But you gave us Star Trek, so...:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Actually I herd that.

And Star Wars:cool1:

I just checked and I was wrong about Godiva chocolate (belgium) being American. Oh, well we'll just "nick" the chocolate from you Brits;)

Saw some of you in chat tonight!! It certainly was busy, thanks for your patience and congrats Pam!!

More thanks for understanding the long thread situation. I was a bit challenged when it came to removing the poll as you suggested. That's why it looks a bit odd. :badpc:

I hope that I've given you some assurance that your thread will return. If there's something specific that you need to retrieve from that thread before we're able to bring it back, please PM me. No promises that I'll be able to find what it is, but I'll do my best to help.

We were able to swap into a cabin that my sister was going to cancel. Now our kids are able to join their cousins on this cruise of a lifetime. I tried to keep up with the original thread but it moved too fast. I'm glad you have a new thread that's not as intimidating. We are a group of 11. 5 adults, 3 boys aged 22, 13 and 10 and 3 girls aged 15, 11 and 8. I've been chosen as the planner for our group and I'm going to try and join in on the planning here.

Ed-

WELCOME ABOARD:cheer2: :cheer2:

My son is 14 and my daughter will be 11 in May:goodvibes

So I leave and go to WDW for a long weekend and find that all of the threads have moved..:confused3 WOW what excitment!!! anyway I found you and I am back...

We were at WDW for MLK weekend.. celebrating our anniversary but also the high school choir was there.. to sing at WDW and have a good time. the boys made sure that they showed the choir around .. yep the boys were happy campers.. lots of girls and them..

I wrote a long version of the trip but it got lost in cyberspace.. so the short of it is Dh and I had a great time..Friday night the boys went to epcot and I went to DTD to go to Wolfgang pucks for a salad and then to Ghiradelli for dessert.. The Wolfgang Puck in DTD is closed but I walked to the west side and ate the BBQ chicken salad there... then back to Ghiradelli ...
Saturday Dh and I went to AK. did safari, lion king, bird show, Yak and Yedi for lunch, Nemo, Everest for me and Tough to be a bug for Dh.. then he want to go back to OKW and rest, i stayed and did EE again and watched the parade. Then hopped to MK. Had ice cream there and met DH - we did Haunted Masion, Philaharmagic and laugh floor then it was raining and cold so we went back to OKW. Kids stayed with the Choir kids and "hung out"
Sunday Dh and I went to MGM - did Beauty and the Beast, fast passed TT, did Great Movie ride and then hopped to MK to see the Choir perform. After that We took the boys to lunch at peco bills and then they left to be with "friends'.. Dh and I went to Tiki room and but the lines were so long for everything.. even Country Bears and TTa and Carousel of Progress.. it was worse than in the summer.. so we left and went back to OKW and rested and got warm jackets.. it was cold. Brough jackets for the kids too they were in Tshirts and shorts and it was about 30 degrees.. We headed back to MK about 6ish and the crowds were less.. after Wishes the crowd really thinned out and everything was walk on until 2 am..

Monday DH and I went to Epcot. We fast passed Soarin and did living with the land and Timon and Pumba thing before our fast pass time.. We then went and did Figment, and the Oh Canada movie before our ADR at Le Cellier. The boys met us for lunch. we all had the cheese soup and the fillets. The fillet as on a squash thng not the nornal cheesey potaotes.. good but not great.. then the boys left to join their "friends" and DH and I walked to MGM. We did muppets, TT, Indy and Star Wars and Little Mermaid. The we saw Fantasmic and ran for a boat to Epcot. At Epcot we did Spaceship earth and Illuminations.

On Tuesday we made the lkids stay with us .. did Crystal Palace for lunch, Buzz, TTA, Space mountian, Philharmagic, small world and then we left..

Great trip.. Kids loved being their with friends.. we loved that too.. This is the last family trip for years ... boys won;t be going back for a long long time but I am hopping to go in October for F&W ot Dec for Mousefest or November or ???

Thank you so much, Regina -- I was excited not to see the big poll up there anymore! And thanks for the reassurances about the old thread . . .:thumbsup2
