Pretty cool Mike... I haven't had a chance to go to a Rennaissance Faire in a long long time. I would like to go again having seen your pictures! So many things to do - so little time and (ahem) so many already scheduled things that gotta be done first it seems.

And what luck! You've got a PIRATE event scheduled next! Of course, my pirate costumes are far less sophisticated compared to many from our cruise. Oh well... hope you make it to that one and post some pix for the rest of us swabbies and wenches (and the Captain).

Hey Mike! What do you mean by "Live Baby Dragons"? Bearded Dragon lizards or what? They look alot like the Cameleons I had when I was a kid.

ROFL!!! I didn't know that we have life baby dragons running through our yard and climbing up our porch screens every day.

What was really funny was that we had to talk the kids into going. Linda mentioned that it was the "Wine Harvest" weekend, and Zack thought that all we were going to do was look at wines. Once we got them there, they had a blast. In fact, we all had a blast. We're really hoping to be able to make it next weekend. If we do, we'll make sure to get some more pictures.

Those are INDEED baby Dragons. Can't ya tell? I know those photos are not really the best - after all.... so I don't blame ya fer confusing them with other lizard like vermin...

I thought I would provide some fluff with a news story a friend sent me while we were on the cruise:

Then we found out that next weekend is going to be Pyrate Weekend at the Faire,

ok I'm jealous.... I've always wanted to go.....and I'd even consider coming up for a meet...

But Saturday I'm going to use my free night of theatre tickets and Sunday I think I'm headed down to DC to meet up with Tina....

I think I've achieved a new status on the DIS.

Coming back late on this ... I was looking for something else when I came across this... and yes... I sort of enjoy looking back into the past. Especially the relavant past for real people like you and I. I really do WISH I had more pictures of my past - and I've so very few. I think I've mentioned something like this before - certainly I have in the past 2 years with this particular gathering of IDS neighbors.

At any rate, I've got a lot of back logged photo chores to tend to - I just might take a hack at it tomorrow as my business reports are looking good and things are mildly stable for now (business-wise). I anticipate having a god couple of days to attack the mundane chores of life - which are still piled high around here.

Now I'll resume looking for that posting on the free theater tickets that I vaguely recall Monica posted. If it was NOT Monica - please forgive me... as we have conversations running on several threads making this a bit complicated to find stuff.

I'll be interested to hear how your Princess cruise goes, I've just booked a cruise on the Dawn Princess from Sydney to New Caledonia and Vanuatu over Christmas. Mum said "not another cruise!" but the flights alone to pretty much anywhere else were the same cost as the cruise and return flights to Sydney - so cruise it is...

I will be posting a simple report - but seeing as this is a Disney oriented community I'll be diplomatic about the ravings... if any... ( silent grinnin' ).

Don't get me wrong ... I LOVE Disney big time.... it's just I love a BARGAIN too... and this Princess deal was a fine bargain indeed.

At any rate ... I'll try and PM you the short trip[ report when I get back - and I'll be sure to all all the little Princess specific secrets and tips I gleen ... if any are to be uncovered.

Just a drive by post (I am back on pg 60 and trying to read sequentially).

Since coming back things have been crazy crazy busy... the kids school stuff, soccer coaching. finishing up my firms tax return, then all this Wall St craziness, and Wamu... ugh... This (and rumors of a lousy bonus seasons ahead) may put a big crimp on 2009 and 2010 summer vacation plans.

I did finally get Panama stamps... so I can make about a dozen more of my FE gifts. I will PM those that were looking for one in the next day or two... Anyone esle want one... PM me.... 1st come 1st served.

...we are still taking it all in. this cruise, met our expectations..
with alot the focuses on our kids. [ big & small].

my kids..took alot pictures, , weren't too fussy about our
requests..they are still writing some of their new friends. disneyland
was a great day...

yep, we're pretty awe stuck....& a lil' of that too!

i hope..you had your own magical moments- bunches!


did you start..a new collection..of shopping bags? wow~this is the
first cruise..we spent almost the the orginal costs.

people~ ...glad...we weren't in room 7123. however,i did
read..some egregious reports. [ reading this cruise board, prepared
us for "intruders"...]. shocking- no. aggravating-a lil'.

but overall, the atmosphere...was full of delights! * if i saw a few
skimpy..bathing suits, ahead of time, i just closed..one
eye, especially within the lil' miss queen 's present. ( best way
i kno.to prevent..the jitters.)

speaking of naughty , how many pictures..did you get..of the
carpet angels? , not that iam waiting...or anything....


where's andrew?....i hope his shoulder..all better.

I hope everybody had a great weekend. The weather here was cool and beautiful. We went to the Renaissance Faire on Saturday for the first time since Zack was a baby, and it was amazing how much it has grown. We all had a great time. The kids got to shoot crossbows, play games, and ride some cool rides (all human powered, just like in the olde days).



The archery display was amazing. The archer was hitting targets from over 100 yards away. The joust was pretty cool too.

Linda and I got to sample all the wines. We picked up a couple cases, mostly hot holiday wine, to get us through the winter. Hailey got a little dragon puppet that sits on her shoulder and is controlled through a cable. And the boys got live baby dragons.


Then we found out that next weekend is going to be Pyrate Weekend at the Faire, so we're really thinking of heading back and getting another use out of our pirate costumes from the cruise. (And to sample more wine.) Plus, we missed some of the shows that we wanted to see. So if the weather is nice again, hopefully we'll be able to go.

The boys will be there with their Dad on the 18th. I'll tell them to keep an eye out for ya'all.

Unfortunately, we know that we won't be there on the 18th. Linda is working both days that weekend and then I'm working both days the following weekend, which is the last weekend of the Faire. That's why we're hoping to get there again this Saturday.

We're also hoping to get back to the mansion for a Dickens Christmas one weekend in December. Are you interested if we do?

Copying this post on the main board for those who don't get over there much.

Please review your credit card statement for September and then take a look at your current charges for 10/1/08.

I was charged twice once on 8/28 and then again 10/1 from the Aruba Aloe company.

My sister was charged once on 8/28 and then again on 10/1 from Hearts of Fire jewlery store.

We have two different credit card companies so that is not the issue. However, capitol one just cancelled my card and is treating this as fraud.

I wanted to share this as some folks may not notice the double charge becasue they are on two different statements.


Best of luck. No matter what it was a great trip and if DCL went back I would consider going back. Just might not use a credit card.
