Then Robert went down with it while we were at WDW - he couldn't just have a normal dose of "man flu", he also had to have a severe allergic reaction and we had to take him to the ER with a swollen tongue and lips. 4 hours and $2000 later, they discharged him! Holy cow, if ever you consider the reason for getting travel insurance then that is a fraction of the price. He then on and off had occasional itching and his foot, hand or lip would swell but not to the same extent. We couldn't work out what was causing it as often it could occur hours after eating anything. Odd. We wonder if because of his "man flu" whether his body was just over reacting to something.

Y'all did not have good luck in the health area while here! I'm sorry to hear all of this!
And I hope your cough goes away soon!!!

As for our pics, we have mostly sorted them now but the memory card is at work - I'll upload probably at the weekend. I've been enjoying looking at other peoples photos - some are amazing. Is it wrong to take a copy and pretend I took them?

We've been loving our FE gifts, the CDs have been well played and other items are being put to use daily - bookmarks, pens, keyrings etc. Mum grabbed the pocket watch before we could get a glimpse of it and shouted "mine" ... maybe I'll ask her to leave it me in her will.

I'm not sure if I mentioned previously that I have a pact with my MIL, she said somewhat foolishly one time that if I'd go to the Opera in Sydney, she'd come to Disney sometime - thinking I'd say no. Well, we had a great time at the Opera last year so when I saw the Baltic listed, I knew she'd be keen as she's always wanted to cruise through there. Robert called her and she said yes immediately. Guess you can sign us up then for that I figure she'd prefer a cruise to the parks - in fact, I am sure she'd love it.

Ok, better go do some chores...

Our trip is for 2009... Now if you want to do the same trip next year... We booked ours when we were in WDW after the cruise. Dh wanted to try a new resort nest year and he picked AKL. We've never been so, everyone is excited.

The one day I got the newspaper I know I saw something about Munster and hoped all was well with you. Sorry I never got to meet you on the cruise.

Well my area (SW Ohio) got hit hard on Sunday. 250,000 homes/businesses without power in the Dayton area and around 1/2 million in the Cincinnati area. I live in between. We still don't have power at home, but do at my office. Then to top it off I ended in the emergency room with DH yesterday. He was having chest pains. Turns out it wasn't his heart thank goodness, but we are not sure what it is yet. He has to see his own doctor this week. I personally think it is stress. He works for a builder and on top of making sure we didn't have any damage at our home, folks were calling him (his cell phone worked) to see about fixing damage on their homes. So he was climbing up on roofs and checking on alarms, etc. We don't have phone service either and my cell phone has no signal at home. His office is without power (until this morning) so everyone is calling his cell phone. He was able to take the phone to a site that did have power and charge it along with some lights. I have my laptop at work today to charge it. And some bottled water to freeze to keep things cold.

So we are living in the dark, but we do have water and a grill to cook all the food before it goes bad. We just bought a bunch of meat from our favorite local grocery and have been eating steak the last couple of nights. Batteries and ice are hard to come by and gas stations are beginning to re-open. It really makes you realize how lucky you are. We only lost power and it is a major pain, but there are so many with much worse.

So I am here at work checking on what is going on in the world. Boy do I miss TV and the internet. Had to find out who won BB10.

Still kicking myself for not booking a dummy cruise.

We've been without electricity before -- a week during the summer a few years ago. NOT fun! All of the hotels were full so......we were fortunate and were able to buy a generator.
How frustrating that you had just stocked up on meat! UGH!!!

I hope Brett gets some down time soon!!!! BTW - panic attacks (caused by stress) can cause chest pains, etc.....

Pdarrah, I don't have any concrete Disney plans for the coming year, and it is making me sad too. I just knew that by the TOAL finally arriving, it would be over soon, and then nothing. I have prebooked the free dining in 2009, but I am not used to going a whole year. I am hoping something will come up before then, but then on the other hand, I need to save up for 2010.

I feel this way too. I have no plans for next year and it just feels strange. It's not like we haven't had our Disney fill this year. We were at WDW in January, DL in June and the the TOAL. But it just seems strange not have anything planned for 2009. I'm waiting to see what happens with the airfare for next year before I make any plans.

Shall i now tell the story of what i found out on the magic a few weeks ago? Well... I normally would too but my photos of what happened to your cabin are NOT quite ready yet... so ... it's gonna have to be another time and it's gonna just be a little suspenseful til then....

It sure was hot and steamy (or at least that was the start of it...)

Paula, your cabin wasn't the one on deck 8 that they were repairing, was it?

Mum ended up bringing a nasty cold with her onboard the ship and actually had to visit the ships doctor and had to get a course of antibiotics finally on PC day - her throat was so sore and swollen she couldn't hardly swallow. She probably should have gone earlier but was trying to just let it take its course.

Your mom and I must have missed eac other at the medical center. I was also there on PC day, also for my throat. I came on the ship too with a cold that was fairly awful the first week. It started to get better but then my throat was hurting so badly. Dr. Nick gave me some amoxycillin, but I don't think it was enough. My throat started to feel better but I was still really congested and coughing alot. When I got home it didn't get any better and I went to the doctor who gave me Zithromax and said I had a nasty sinus infection. I'm just now really starting to get over it all, although I'm still a little congested, so it's been a month.

Well, we are on Day 12 of the strike and still no new talks. From what I hear, the union talks to the negotiators every day but the 2 sides just aren't talking. I do my first official picket duty Friday evening from 8:00PM-midnight.

We're still going on the Oct. trip. It is just DH & I and it is already paid for. We'd lose most of the $$ at this point if we didn't go.

Our Jan. trip is up in the air right now. The only money we've spent on it is DH's $120 marathon registration, so if I don't find something quick, we won't make that trip.

We were on the 3:00 zipline in PV. We just watched the video last night again....my kids laugh their butts off when they see the shock & horror face I made when the crazy video guy jumped on with me and talked me into letting go with both hands........I still can't believe I did it!! LOL

No worries. And no, the lounge chairs at the adult pool don't turn clothing blue, but the pool itself will. We noticed that our feet had turned a slight shade of blue after being at the adult pool all afternoon. Then I saw a spot on one of my bathing suits, so I wasn't taking any chances with the white one. It washed out, but I know I wouldn't have wanted my expensive bikini to change colors. So I warned her before she sat down.

Oh wow, I didn't know that! I've yet to get in the adult pool... but then I also don't have a white bathing suit. LOL
Is the turning clothes blue from a lot of chlorine? Or do they put blue dye in it or what? (our experience with too much chlorine bleaches swimsuits, not turn them blue. So that's why I'm curious what causes that. This is the first I've heard about that!)

Thanks, Coral. We are still in San Antonio but are planning to return home tomorrow. (Six people in one hotel room for 5 days is more than enough!) My dad has been by our place, and surprisingly, we are in pretty good shape. We have some fence damage and minor roof damage, but that's about it. I was certain we'd have windows broken out or water in the house so I am very pleased. Galveston was just devastated! We have also been without power since Ike hit, which is why we haven't been in a hurry to get home. Apparently, power is slowly coming back on in the neighborhoods around us so hopefully it won't be long for us. My dad did get power back on today so we can stay with him for a couple days if we need to.

Gald to hear things were not too bad for you. To everyone else who is also feeling the effects of Ike, my thoughts and prayers are with you as well.

- 6 oz. Frozen lemonade concentrate
- 6 oz. Frozen orange juice concentrate
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 cup grenadine
- 1 quart lemon-lime soda

Combine all ingredients except soda. Add soda immediately before serving. Makes 12 servings.

We all told you to book a dummy just in case. I just called the DCL TA on the phone and booked a dummy cruise. I told her I did not want to waste my time or hers..........I just want a dummy cruise.

Is the turning clothes blue from a lot of chlorine? Or do they put blue dye in it or what? (our experience with too much chlorine bleaches swimsuits, not turn them blue. So that's why I'm curious what causes that. This is the first I've heard about that!)

Shelly, the paint was wearing off on our hands and feet. I thought they painted the pool and didnt let it dry long enough before we were allowed back in it..

Totally off subject.. Does anyone were OPI nail polish.. I just got a few bottle of the French line and I love it. I am not a dark colored kind of gal with my nail polish.. but i got Lourve me Lourve me not. ITS PURPLE.. its so cool..
