I got a call from the company I interviewed with. They are in the final selection process and asked that I provide them 3 references. I've sent those off so we'll see what happens.

This thread is so hard to keep up with.It is getting very real seeing everyone start traveling to LA. Well we got the clothes part settled. Now to distribute the stuff in the 3 bags and garment bag.Now come the hard part. All the other stuff!!!!!.Thank goodness I have all day Thurs to finsih up...............

PV Zip Line Taxi Sharing

There has been a little discussion on the PZ about meeting up and sharing taxis for getting over to the Los Veranos office. The plan is for anyone who wants to share, meeting up in the atrium (by the mickey statue) a little before Noon for the 1PM tour. Other groups may be arranging similar things, but the 1PM tour will definitely be doing it for any that are interested.

We figure it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to exit the ship to the taxi area, another 20 minutes to the Los Veranos office and they ask us to be there 20 minutes early on the confirmation.

Wow Where'd everyone go? I just got done calling the credit cards. The reason I started was because of a $3.50 charge that we can't figure out what the heck it is!! I asked for more info and the guy basicly read the info that I could see on our statement online. How useful. He also had a heavy accent so I couldn't understand what he was saying... I asked if he could give me a location and he said "NM?" And you should've heard him say "Albuquerque" or "Souvineer" So we said we wanted to contest it but that department is closed now...

The weather is beautiful today again, but we are warming up mid to late week. Plan on mid 80's and nice cool & comfortable evenings!

what exactly does it mean to ADD onboard credits? I'm not getting this one.

I have completed the online check-in, so does that mean I do not need to bring anything out of the paper documents we received in the mail? I know the luggage tags are in there and that should be all I need, correct? TIA

Just one more tip... the laundry rooms were a ZOO on board... think 15 days... take soap with you - they started to run out by the end of week 2... put change in either an M&M's tube (quarters of course...) or an old prescription bottle to bring with you.... and you're not going to believe it....but the ONLY sane time to do the wash was at 2 AM... (we had room service delivered and brought drinks and had a mini party...)

About the punishment stuff- yes, been there done that. The stuff you're describing works well with the younger ones.... oldest still has me for a loop although I think I'm on to something with this ipod thing..... hehe FINALLY something she really really REALLY (did I mention really?) doesn't want to lose (or rather at this point WANTS IT BACK!)

... I'm back and in my hotel - the kids are apparently asleep and the room is dark and quiet. ideal conditions to lurk and post her on the DIS.... < wink >

So to finish up where I left off (quoted below)....

So yeah BIP... I watch these postings which talk about managing the kids who are a bit older then our girls (4 and 7) to gleen insight and ideas about possible future challenges and opportunities.

The problems are not fully clear to me - but maybe if I cross paths with ya on the ship when we can sit for a few minutes - maybe you can share some more of your story ... I'd be all ears I tel ya!

At any rate, I see Andrew has gone and posted about 15 ahead of where I am - so I figure on heaping on a dozen plus postings to get my tally above his - then I'll post a big list to TAUNT him with!

Knock your block off eh? ... The litterail traslation of the THREAT my parents snapped in Chinese was "I'll Chop your head (off)".... and spoken in Chinese sounded close to this: "Ngoy Juummm... Neeee Goooy Howww" ... spoken with a certain Chinese meaness. And if in the prescence of a Chinese person from around he Hong Kong region ... but NOT Hong Kong itself (IE, country folk... not city slicker)... there's a fair chance that if you spoke this phrase above they'd turn and STARE really hard at you. Maybe even drop into a posture as if you'd attack them or they drop into a posture as if to RUN AWAY! In my case it would've been to RUN AWAY.... < wink > as a 4-5 year old is generally a munchkin with everyone else double the height and 4 times my mass! At least....

Now a days... I've already sent my kids into self defense Karate classes... and if I said anything like that to them (English as I've not taught them much Chinese... especially the punishment phrases) ... but whenever Igrump in regular english... in some cases... they swarm me and threaten me with Karate "KEEE-EiiiiiS!" .... sometimes aiming for the "nuts".... just like my girls were taught in self defense class. < sobering slow chuckling >

By the way.... there were other "Chinese" threats my parents and siblings used to spout... but this IS a family oriented thread... and I wouldn't want to lead a bunch of pirate parents into a series of what amounts into "How to CURSE and CUSS in Cantonese with a dialect like a Chinese Peasant (in ONE easy step)"...

So BIP...

Onthe other stuff.... I've cut off the TV from my daughters' room... then removed it (as that was the plan all along - she got it initially on account of her being really SICK and stuck in bed once and I left it there a spell out of lazyness... BIG MISTAKE there "Dad")..... and I've given time outs... and we have a system of earning "surprises" which can accumalte. These "surprises" are essentially $5 credits good for "things".... or "favors". Multiple "surprises" build into progressively bigger things. AND... for other "good acts", "good results" or "favors" we dish out defined cash amounts good ONLY for savings where the "money grows". So far ... neither child has thought to ask WHEN the money ever comes out of savings. < whew >

Oh I do not think they would allow that, but you might be thought of a little better by the ''higher authorities''

One of the reasons we stay at the Grand Floridian is because it is quiet.... usually.

I prefer either the Polynesian for its relaxed style, or the Contmporary for its walk to MK, the monorails and Chef Mickeys.
