Just a quick post to check in and say HI! Thought I'd browse while I'm waiting for some pictures to dowload onto snapfish. Can't accomplish much on the computer during the day with my 3 and 5 year old helpers.

Got some great news -- DD just got confirmation that her dissertation was received with all parts -- signatures completed -- formatting correct -- in other words all the i's were dotted and t's crossed -- so SHE IS DONE!!!! It's been a long road but now she has the PhD. We really have something to celebrate on the TOAL. DH (a real Bill Cosby fan) has been calling her "almost a doctor" for the past few weeks. That reminds me I have to load some of his Cosby CD's onto my iPod for him for the flight. Just what I need another thing on the list and I'm lucky if I can even find my list. I just got the new iPod Touch so he is inheriting my Nano - now all I have to do is learn how to use the new one. His shuffle is being passed down to the 3 year old. Now he can listen to music like his big sister when they fly down to visit us. My DD's both got the new iPhones. We have all been sitting around playing with our new toys for the past couple of weeks.

Well back to Snapfish -- I hope my pictures are finally loaded and I can get that order done. I take too many pictures when I'm with the Grandkids.

Won't make chat Friday - we're picking youngest DD up at MCO. She is coming in to spend a week here before we fly out to LAX together on the 15th. The house is bursting at the seams -- loud, messy, disorganized -- but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hope I get time to check in again -- but if not -- can't wait to meet you all in the terminal.

Barbara

Goodbye everyone see you all on the 17th if not at DL before.
My bags are packed and I leave in 2 hours, I may be able to log in from CA as we are taking a laptop. If not then safe travelling everyone

Just to say again thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this a fun cruise for us all.

Is anyone else getting even MORE anxious as some people are already saying goodbye heading their way to CA?
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
LOL
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the McDonald's is probably a 5 minute walk from HOJOs. I forget what time you are getting in but since the parks are open until midnight there will be hundreds of people (adults, kids, babies) walking on Harbor Blvd, it is completely safe. Not sure if that McDonald's is 24 hour, you might want to check. ;)

Michelle
I'll check- thanks!

Congrats to DD!!! :)

Well I got a bunch done today and besides hair appt, kids haircuts and all their other activities that are all in the next couple of days... I think I'm about ready to go! Finished shopping, magnets, packing, and right now I'm downloading Ruby's "choice" in songs on her ipod shuffle..... (it's time consuming. I have to listen to it first to give my approval before putting it on there LOL) my list of things to do is finally dwindling down to almost nothing! woohoo!!!!!!!!

Boy today was a doozy trying to run errands and shop with the kids. I'm reminded why I prefer to do those things without them! :lmao: But DH has been working some overtime (before and after normal work hours) lately so I ended up having to get those things done with the kiddos tagging along.... I told them if they behaved that way (mostly arguing with each other nonstop and begging for stuff nonstop) at Disneyland I'll walk right back out and we can spend the rest of the day in the hotel room. They better straighten up. LOL
(you should have seen their eyes big as saucers when I said that) :lmao:

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
LOL

Anxious? Definitely, but about everything outside my direct control (yes, I am a bit of a control freak) - t-s***** being at DLH:confused3 , BA losing luggage:mad: , one of the kids getting sick:sick: , forgetting something vital etc.

UrbanDictionary.com is an invaluable resource for translating the latest jargon. If it's any consolation - when the kids use words like that, half of them are just pretending to know what is being said - they just go along with it because not knowing would be way too embarassing. :rolleyes1

Sounds like me at work... :rotfl2:

Presently 80 going up to 95 here in Sunny Central Florida...:goodvibes

:grouphug:  pixiedust: and prayers to everyone who is going to need it today..

Happy Birthday and Anniverary to all we have missed

7 days to TOAL

Have a great Thursday

Just got back from a day out with the family. Zack chose Olive Garden (with a little coaching;) ) for his birthday lunch. He ordered off the adult menu, and ate the whole thing! Then we wanted to see Journey to the Center of the Earth, but it wasn't playing at either of the 2 theaters closest to our house, so Linda took Zack & Hailey to see the Mummy 3, and Nick and I wandered around the mall for a couple hours. Not my first choice for how to spend a day, but we actually had a lot of fun, and it was nice to have some one on one time.

I finished up making our matching shirts for Disneyland last night. Now back to some more odds and ends to get done before Tuesday.

Happy Belated Birthday Zack!!!

Hope you had a great day!

and unfortunately, we don't know what you look like... If I see a stranger charging me from across the terminal I'm thinking Deanna?? or mugger ??

I will give you a warning....."I rhyme with  "

I'm not much out of my teenage years (23) and I can't even begin to tell you what that means. I have never heard/seen those words before. Well, I can tell you that "mad" means "very." So if you wanted to say you're very excited for this trip, you'd say, "I'm mad excited for this trip!" Or, if it's hot where you live, "It's mad hot today."

But shmexy and hippi....not a clue.

Maybe it means " the chick is very sexy?" I hope not but no idea

OMG, you're so old...

shmexy = A combination of sexy, smooth, and hot.
hippi = HIgh Performance Parallel Interfaces: a computer bus for the attachment of high speed storage devices to supercomputers. It was popular in the late 1980s and into the mid-to-late 1990s, but has since been replaced by ever-faster standard interfaces like SCSI and Fibre Channel.

so, the very old storage device to supercomputers (think late 1980's, so very, very old) is very sexy, smooth and hot

Another drive by...:drive:

Okay...according to urban dictionary dot com (and my 17 year old brother)...
shmexy
A more than awesome way to say "sexy"
A combination of sexy, smooth, and hot.
A variant of 'sexy', commonly utilized in sarcastic, or cynical comments. Also used by those with an aversion to the word 'sexy'.

hippi
A women/men who's still living in the 80's.

Now I will return to the crises of last minute wedding fiascos, cruise packing, and deterring annoying AT&T salesmen from knocking on my front door...

But "hippi" got 6 thumbs up and 37 thumbs down on the urban dictionary...... not a resounding level of confidence

Is anyone else getting even MORE anxious as some people are already saying goodbye heading their way to CA?
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I second that ahhhhhh and raise you an AAAaaauuuugggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

I CANNOT WAIT!
