Don't you just love Colorado....the sun is shining downtown!

Yes I do love the weather. Addicted to did boards using iPhone to see messages while waiting for dd6 bus. Thundering pretty good here.

I got to say- I do 95% of everything to get ready for this trip and my DH sighs when I ask him to finish the labels for the FE gifts.
I am about to go into my "Do you have any idea what I have done to get ready for this cruise?" He loves that particular speech.

I remember that post!!! I sent it to DH and said "Here we go again, don't tell the DSs or we'll never be able to back out of it!" And guess where all five of us were at 3:00am 1/31/07????

My favorite is having to wear sunglasses while driving in a heavy rainstorm because it's so bright.

We sit up on a ridge and can really watch the afternoon storms blow in over the mountains. Unfortunately, the rain doesn't seem to make it's way out of the mountains this year. Last summer we got a lot of rain, but it's been way too dry here this year.

you mean I am not the only one??? ... they refer to my chatting with all of you wonderful people as talking to my imaginary friends.. i have no idea what they mean..

Nobody will blame you & Kristina. Hey dining with 128 people isn't so bad. I am sure Disney will come through well with seconds to spare.
I think I am starting to get used to these kind of storms. Seems almost everyday we get one of those. As fast as they blow in they leave.

I also got the very best part of planning for this cruise- hanging out and getting to know all of you!

The packing is not near as bad as the end of Bill's help after the trip being to bring the bags in from the car. "Thanks Hon, I will take it from here."

I see Bill and I have the same job. We pull in to the garage and everyone scatters and I am stuck bringing in all the bags. "It's OK, I got it, no problem, really I can open the door with my foot"

Its so loud and you should have seen me and DS14 run to the car after registering him for high school. We got in the care laughing as we looked at each with dripping water and being soaked. LOL.

But its still warm here. But man we were soaked. LOL

Sounds like what we had yesterday. It's been a very nice, cool day here today with sprinkles. Now we're in line to get more hurricane moisture from Edouard later this week.

.... ROger, I had a pleasnt chat with Sharon about FE efforts ... and perhaps some hint of what you're suggesting. AND... I get a bit of a "look" from Alicia when I'm caught remiss with a chore she wanted me to get to - when she thinks the DIS got in the way of completing this so-called "chore".

And - after a moment of "looking"/"staring" at me... she softens and realizes this thread had brought a certain amount of happiness to our voyage... both on the ship and through the days and weeks leading up to the voyage. Kno what I mean?

It's been a really nice gang here these past several months... one FREE of any trolls or mischief makers. (knock on something wooden) And I think it's turned out pretty good.

Roger, I could sense a fringe of something in my chat with your DS last weekend at the swim meet... and I put in a few delicately delivered remarks in support of our particular insanity.... on and OFF the ship. As a first experience with FE antics... I pointed out that it's NOT that anyone contributes ANYTHING to the community... nor is it a matter of how elaborate or expensive any FE item(s) is/are.... it is the incredible sense of neighborly good will that will come to pass. That is assuming no one pases around lumps of coal as a FE gift.

So... having said that ... I just suggested that on my last DCL voyage .... the 11 niter in 2006 .... that we had (as I vaguely recall) some 120 -130 cabins total... and here I counted 192 cabins on our DIS list. Last time in 2006 I had an amazing variety of FE things.... many humble... a few remarkable. It was enough to almost fill 1/3rd of a grocery shopping bag. I will not go into much more detail except to say ... the sensation was not of anything except simple amazement at the FRIENDLY gestires from SO MANY.

It's worth doing. It's worth DISing. And it's also worth it to just LURK... as I was on Cruise Critic when I learned about the Magic canceling it's embarkation the day after Hurricane Frances passed... and I was waiting to embark from Jacksonville that morning several years ago!

I gotta go pretty soon... can we pick up the pace of the sprint to 2000?

Not much time to catch up today - busy, busy, busy! I have a quick question about the Secret Mickey exchange. I'm about to wrap gifts (some will be wrapped, a few little things won't be) and I assume they should be from "Secret Mickey" - but when will we reveal who the Secret Mickey is? Should there be a note with the last gift?

Also, is there any protocol on when the gifts are given? I have 4 or 5 little things and 1 "real" gift for mine - should I spread them out over the entire cruise or would it be OK to do it all in the first week? (The final real gift is something they might want a chance to use on board...) DS picked out a bunch of smaller gifts for his, so it will probably take most of the cruise if he does 1 gift per day.

Pamela, if you think your SM would want to use everything on the cruise, go ahead and do it all the first week . . . but also keep in mind that the biggest gift doesn't have to be last, either . . . I am trying to give something every sea day, more or less . . . there aren't too many rules to this and I'm sure it will be fine however you do it.

FOr one thing... the price is right for this shore excursion...

And plus I'll be in the company of so many wonderful neighbors.

I would not miss this - unless, of course, I was still sleeping in my cabin - passed out from the RUMspiked chocolate milk someone is sure to slip me at last nites' dinner!
