Best Table Service Restaurants for the Money

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness lodge is probably the best bank for the buck…for 45.00 you get a full skillet with a ton of food and it’s all you care to eat….will be there in a few weeks can’t wait !!
My pick as well. It’s nearly the same meal for lunch but less cost. Get a refill and bring it back to your resort to reheat in their microwave.

Honorable mention to Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue - good food that is all you care to eat plus a show (but it is not inexpensive - we do the 4pm show and make it a "linner"

Trail’s End sells everything on Hoop-De-Doo’s menu. You purchase the food in bulk a la carte in restaurant (not on the app); $100 would buy more than enough to feed a family of four. While not table service, you can hear the Hoop-De-Doo playing.

IMO, the food is very mediocre but occasionally I’ll get a craving for it.

Do they allow you to take leftovers with you - Whispering Canyon? I thought it was a no-no. Curious.

Don’t think this one was mentioned yet but I’ll throw in Yak & Yeti as a contender. Hard to get reservations depending on when you travel but the portion sizes have always been huge IMO (and the food is delicious!)

A hack for Yak & Yeti ADRs is to get a Landry’s membership. It allows priority seating at all their restaurants including this one. Plus you get special consideration on yr birthday.

IDK what the official policy is, but I’ve never been denied and in fact more often than not, the server asks me if we would like to order a refill to take with us.

Have you tried watching any food critic vloggers?

We are headed back to Orlando in late winter so we've been watching vloggers we like that show the food quality and share a review and it is so incredibly helpful in both making a list of good spots and skipping over the places that aren;t what we want them to be. Our favorite right now is Princess and Bear because they are just adorable normal people, I like that she is vegan (he is not) so there is an element of fresher foods in their selections, plus we followed some of their tips on our last trip and discovered the bacon bourbon in EPCOT at food & wine. I think we'll try the Italian place over at Boardwalk again because what they had looked good, I have't eaten by Boardwalk in ages because years ago everything disappointed us. At any rate, if you pick out a few restaurants and do a search you might find someone or a family that seems to match yours in tastes then you can go from there:)

When we travel the goal is more where I feel the pricing for what we get as far as sit down is fair, so maybe this is what you mean:

MK - Be Our Guest broke my long held WDW expectations that if there is a show the food will be less than
Swan reserve - Amare is lovely but the bar Stir right outside the restaurant had outstanding flatbread and cocktails so that was fab
DS - Brown Derby Cobb salads & martini flight
EPCOT - Hacienda de San Angel
AK - Rainforest Cafe is fun with kids
Disney Springs - Paddlefish - T Rex is fun with kids- The Edison is the old Adventurers club and we really liked it
Do they still have this? I looked at the menu and saw the salad but not the flight.

I just discovered it, we went by the Derby only because the flight looked fun (I rarely drink) so if it's gone that would be a shame, back to no interest. We went by the Star Wars Oga's Cantina and those were utterly awful :crazy2: all the products in the world to choose from and they went for appearance over substance, this park is a food and drink desert. Hanging out with the martini flight with lunch was nice for the one time we had it, rats.

Agreed Oga's was a disappointment for us also. I might call or email and see if or when the Martini flights
will ever be back.
