How old is your DD? Luckily DS grew out of it at 2 years. He was a noisy little bugger when he slept. People would look around asking what that squeaking noise was we were in the room. He sounded like a rusty gate. Their faces when someone would point out DS were priceless. The only thing that we had to adjust to was putting him on his belly to sleep so that he wouldn't choke. Yes, I can look back on it now and smile but being worried about him getting sick and needing a tracheotomy. He got steroid shots instead of antibiotics twice when he had croup.

She's 18mo now. She is getting stronger and stronger :) The odd thing is that we really had no other symptoms for it... She would get rattley when she slept sometimes. For some reason she just had/has weak muscles from her mouth down into her stomach. She also had/has weak trunk muscles. After the ENT did a bronchoscopy, he came and found us to let us know how things went... First thing he said was "Lets find someplace private to talk" our hearts sank and we thought the worst!! He could have said "Things went well, she's recovering upstairs, let's go talk". UGH! Then he told us how things went and what he saw. He also mentioned offhandedly "eh if things get bad, we'll do a tracheotomy." Good Grief she didn't even need oxygen at 5000ft elevation and he's saying this?? Like I said, our big problem is that she doesn't/can't eat. She's getting better all the time though!

While it appears that I have several pirate: s here, I would like to ask those of you who ordered t-****s, are they silk screen or that heavy plastic stuff? My husband is kind of particular...:rotfl: :rotfl:

light weight plastic. DH wouldn't let me order him any because he won't wear them. The kids & I will though!

It's funny concierge keeps giving out rotations yet DCL hasn't assigned tables yet.... They're working on it this week....

BTW Boots are secured... I may have to mail some of this stuff ahead to the hotel since they are a little heavy. (House had to be searched from top to bottom to locate them but some rooms got a little more organized at least :rolleyes1 .) .

I'm just passing along the information that Concierge gave me! LOL! Maybe they finished early? :rotfl:

i got to go try to fix ur logo

We are Big White Sox fans here!!!:thumbsup2 They lost tonight and are only a half into first place now.:sad2:

John doesn't mind?

You think I am crazy enough to answer a question like that!!:lmao: :lmao:

We've got all of our FE gifts boxed and ready to send to HoJos. May end up sending a 2nd one.

Okay...........now I have a reason to hate you!!

:rotfl: I have been thinking the same thing.

Well at least we know Stephanie will be eating at 8:00!!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

ROFL!!! Here's a question for you guys in CA...just curious if you have to get special insurance for your homes if they are on a noted fault line...kind of like flood insurance...or is it just insured through your home owner policies?

How expensive is your insurance in Florida???? We have friends who are on Tampa Bay and Pay over $10,000 for house insurance. :scared1:

I'm just passing along the information that Concierge gave me! LOL! Maybe they finished early? :rotfl:

I am hoping you will be eating with the peeps I assigned to link with and the rest of our group!!:rolleyes1 :flower3:

Most of us are uninsured. Why? Because earthquake insurance is crazy expensive (an earthquake policy can cost as much or more than your regular policy), and even if you get it, the coverage is minimal (and has a huge deductable).

The policies aren't even offered by insurance companies - they just act as agents for a state run risk pool.

Wow!!! I never realized you are not covered under your home owner's insurance.:headache: :headache:

We are still covered for a tornado which can also have massive destruction!!!

So far, only the suites have been confirmed on their dining times. I requested 8:00, and concierge has confirmed that time for us....and they told us what the rotations are for each time slot. That's not saying that they told us our table numbers...which, yes, don't get done until about 2 weeks out.
So Steph....you're good....I knew what you were saying.

ROGER!! Glad you guys were okay today....and all of our other California people. I can't keep up for now, and only saw Roger's post about the earthquake....not meaning to leave anyone out!!
Doesn't sound at all fun to me! :scared:

hi everyone! i haven't been around in awhile...sick with a major ear infection! hope everyone is doing well...i really can't believe the countdown is nearing the end!!! in a week and a half we will be in cali!!
i've been having trouble finding postcards for the kids exchange...anyone have any ideas for me? we have no souvie places around our area...and i hate to wait til we get to cali to get some. where did everyone else find them? nothing like waiting til the last min!!!

I ordered from Vistaprint.com. They should be here any day now. You can upload any picture you want and add your own text. Minimum order is 100 cards, but there's usually some sort of special, 50% off or free. I only paid the upload fee and shipping, less than $15 total if I remember correctly.

CONGRATULATIONS on the new addition

It's special (insert expensive) earthquake insurance. And if you decide not to carry it, you have to sign a waiver. Doesn't matter if your on a fault line or not.

Wow!!! I never realized you are not covered under your home owner's insurance.:headache: :headache:

What are you still doing awake?

No..you have to buy special insurance...and a really high deductible

I wonder if it depends on where you are? We are in San Diego and our earthquake policy is 1/5 the cost of our homeowners policy. I wonder too if it depends on how long you have had the policy. We have had ours for at least 10 years probably more.

ATTENTION - PIRATES WHO ORDERED LANYARDS
I have 78 envelopes of lanyards/partches to hand out to my fellow pirates who ordered lanyards...I really would like to have as few as possible when I get to the terminal. I have several ways for you to pick them up:

If you are staying in the DL Resort area...I will have a room at the GC on Friday, the 15th... I know you will be at the parks but if on your way out or a small break in the evening - if you could come by the hotel and pick them up -it would be appreciated. Please send me a PM and I will provide you my cell number. I will be in the room from 6:00 P.M. - midnight. (Well..I will be there all night but up until midnight) I will give you my cell # and you can give me a call and I will give you the room number. Between 7 - midnight..I can run them down to the lobby for you.

If you are in the DL Resort (any of the DL hotels or surrounding area) area staying .. you can send me a PM and I can make other arrangements to come by your hotel and drop them off. I would prefer not to leave them at the front desk as I do not want anything to get lost.

If I am having lunch/dinner with you at the DL resort..I will bring yours with me.

If you are attending the EP or DTD mini meet - please send me a PM and I will bring it with me.

If you are doing the DT dining - I will bring it there - please send me a PM.

And finally..I will be in the terminal with those I could not drop off before hand. I will attempt to be near check -in but can not promise. I will have the TOAL pirate shirt on and my lanyard on as well...look for me! I will also be at the meet on Deck 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Thanks for your help in this matter! I appreciate it!

This is very bad I know but the first song that came to me was one that we used to LOVE to sing at GS camp.

OHHHHHHH they built the ship Titanic to sail the ocean blue and the said it was a ship that the water would never go through. It was on its maiden trip when the iceburg hit the ship. It was sad when the great ship went down down down.

All together now!!!

Definitely not a song I recognise! Maybe you can take that on & teach them all & then we can spend the remaining nights reassuring them we aren't going to re-enact, but based on our current run of fortune, maybe not!

You mean like
Father Mike
Speedo Mike
Diane's non-alcoholic Mike....

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Diane has to help us come up with a better one for her Mike though.

I hear ANDREW or TOM could be used just as easily too Laurie....
 That's right, gotta add those to my list of names to try when I drawn a blank;)

For those of you who have been on previous Repos, how many pictures did you take?

Between 2500 and 3000 :scared1: All digital.

PALO QUESTION

On our last cruise I was able to make one PALO dinner reservation per room even though we had the same adults in each reservation. When I noticed that dinners had opened up on line I tried to make a reservation for the second room and was not allowed to. Can anyone give me some insight on this?:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Technically you could always only make one reservation for anyone, but before you didn't have to put down names so you could book more than one reservation for some. Now that you have to select names, they can limit it to one.

So far, only the suites have been confirmed on their dining times. I requested 8:00, and concierge has confirmed that time for us....and they told us what the rotations are for each time slot. So Steph....you're good....I knew what you were saying.

I was just going to say this too. Concierge nearly always gets the time they request so they know that, but concierge staff do not make the dining schedule so concierge guests don't get their table assigned ahead of the rest of the guests. Other than concierge, the regular agents at DCL still haven't been told what the rotations will be

Well there ya go! Might be more than some of us can say! Although Patrick Duffy did buy me a drink once! :snooty:

Impressive.
Usually the only person who buys me a drink is the creepy guy at the end of the bar.

It was sa-ad when the great ship went down.

Adding earthquake insurance would more than double our premium in Alaska.
It doesn't make the news as much, but we get lots of rumbling up there. It goes nicely with the volcanos.

We don't have it either. Most of the information that I have read indicates that if the quake is really big and causes a lot of damage FEMA will be here with government help.

I wouldn't count on FEMA for much. :sad2:

This is the point where I usually really anger our Congressional delegation, they ask me to speak on this issue then I tell the truth.

FEMA will NOT make you whole. Their individual assistance is capped at about $28,000. There are a bunch of subcaps, like $5,000 for home repairs or rental assistance.

The average FEMA payout for disasters since 2000 is about $3,000 - $4,000 total (per household).

Roger, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but FEMA is great at PR, lousy at actually providng assistance.
