OK all, just needed to post something real quick but the internet is as slow as molasses. If I didn't have such a hard head, I'd of quick after the first 10 minutes.

Anyway, you all remember that conversation about misbehaving kids? Yeah, well, I got those today. It was so bad that even after the Head Server talked to them, another table yelled at them, we told them to please be quiet, they didn't listen. The final straw came and yours truly stomped off to Palo's to "inform" the parents they might want to come down and watch their kids or see what they had done - you know what I got? A blank stare and a - why is it important to you (in regards to my question of if they were the parents of the kids on table 8?) ???

Yes folks, they were THAT bad that one of use was elected to go and speak with the parents. I will DIS Friday on my blog don't feel it necessary to write the details just yet on a SLLLOOOOOWWWWW machine, but suffice it to say that one table walked out right after main course (and after they had food thrown at them) and don't even get me started on the broken chinaware! :scared1:

Yes, you heard right - we had hecklions next door to us. Javem has decided to move our table as they expect the same personnal at the same table tomorrow night.

Just need to post as Steve is ranting and ready to punch a wall at the cool reception I related when I tried to inform them. I admit, I may have stepped out of line but folks, they were really that bad! ::yes::

Oh yeah, they had a female comedian - Sonja White I believe, that was hilarious. The crowd in Rocking Bar D was small but tonight was also pirate night. She would fit so well on our cruise. Hmmm.....wonder if I can suggest her. She was a hoot. She hosted CMT show and she really is a hoot. She also sorta reminded me of Cheryl - plus the personality to boot. I will post a picture of her when I get home. No ability to do it here.

Anyway, I know I've been promising but now we got sea days and I can update by blog.

Talk to you all later.

:wave2:

I'm having a hard time finding DISacceptable words to express my disgust at this whole situation  Can you guys all make me a promise .... if any of you see my kids acting inappropriately, and I'm not around. PLEASE feel free to speak to them and tell them to straighten up ... and THEN come and find me so that DH and I can deal with it. Don't get me wrong, my boys are very good kids ... but they can get silly at times and the younger one is a bit of a show-off

On our last 7 day cruise, we let our oldest ... I think he was 10 at the time, and our friend's kids go to dinner without us on formal night because we were going to Palo. We weren't going to do it, but the serving team assured us that it would be ok. We stopped in unannounced between our dinner at Palo, and the football game we wanted to watch in Diversions. Everything was ok, and we got an update from the serving team that the kids were very well behaved ... after they put a stop to one of them blowing insane amounts of bubbles in his milk;)

wow...sk8..i might..have a need for that bat, :cheer2:

..oh, ...justm.....? do we have a picture..of said cpt . jack & ...borat?

......as not to leave....the swabbies ..out..of the picture, :lmao:

...maybe, high resloution....for making..magnets?

*..:sad2: ..laura....i would've thought...the magic..staff ....would had

...a "response team"....to set a few limits & redirect....what is clearly

inappropirate..behaviors?...that's is, not relying on guests.

our 2005 cruise,...we had nice tablemates..however, they way they..did
their palo's night...was interesting. they let their 2 kids..eat with us,
and the lil'girl...needed assistance. so ..basically...they "switched"..off...
...going back & forth..from palo's. ..to say..they..had their "hands full"
was an understatment.

where's crash??..i miss him & his art work...* if anyone..can find
a picture..of borat & jack...my $$$ on him. :thumbsup2

thank you very much..justm, for such a generous offer. * we are @ a
table...with....another diser's family....& i think...there're 7 of us....

...[ we feel...we not only we have great tablemates...but good company

too, :yay: ]. and if laura's current experiences...illustrating...when it
comes..to..."magical dining"...location! location ~, & locations! are a
critical factors.

acting out & violence...may make movies...more excting..but in reality...
they are the type of behaviors...that are in a direct contradiction toward
living...happily ever~after. unfor..there are many...who never matured...
....or recognized..the values..of lving...a peacful , "normal"...life.

As part of my son's Boy Scout Merit Badge - Citizenship in the Workd - he knews to talk from a scout or STUDENT from another part of the world about traditions, foods, holidays, life in other countries etc.

My DS is 12 - and totally normal, which at this age means I cringe at his vocabulary, diet, music and friends...Is there anyone out there whose 12 yr old - boy or girl, might be chatty enough to help us with this. It would be very very informal. OF course, the LAST thing I would do is introduce them to each other - it would humilate them for LIFE no doubt. :rotfl2:

I know Andrew Derek that you have kids - I am envisaging taking Junior to a kids club thing - maybe kind of pointing out a shild that is not from out parts. Of course, that would be met with a grunt and the rolling of the eyes. But, then left to their own devices - after 2 weeks or so, I think we might fulfill that requirement!

Thanks for any help...

Yes Stephen my son aged 10 on the cruise would be up for a chat. And happy to discuss with him, maybe at the 'Patch' meet??

Okay I'm all ketchup'd.
phew....... that took forever. Y'all are in super speed mode the closer we get to the cruise eh?

Hey where can I find some info about internet on the ship? And/or info about bringing a laptop -like how much it cost. I think I read somewhere in the past about where they work on the ship too.
and I wonder if there is wifi at HOJO's? I'm trying to figure out how much it's gonna cost me if we bring a laptop for minor use during the vacation since we're gonna be gone SO LONG- and might be easier than friends/family trying to reach me by cellphone the whole time.
Or trying to figure out if it's even worth bringing. I don't want to bring it if it won't work at Hojo's and won't work on the ship! What would be the point, yanno? LOL

There are only three things you need to know about Internet on the ship:
- It's expensive
- It's slow
- It's unreliable

The only thing good you can say about it is that it exists - which is much better than when I started cruising.

Also..........

nevermind. I don't know how to "line out" my post above but I just got a response from supershuttle that they are open 24/7 and if our flights are delayed we just call the 800# and they'll get dispatch to tell us how long the wait will be. So now I'm off to book supershuttle. Oh dang.. I just remembered I need to book the parking for our vehicle at the airport while we're gone! See..... one thing off the list of things to do- atleast one more on the list. LOL

Wow, that is TERRIBLE . . . what a cruise you have had, Laura!:scared1:

For long term airport parking you might also want to check out ParkSleepFly.com.

We have an early morning flight. Using them we were able to get a hotel the night before near the airport plus parking at the hotel for less than the cost of long term parking would be at the airport or even nearby lots.

Just got word from my Docs that they spent a very peaceful night in Ontario. Room was nice but could have done with a better view. They went out to dinner last night with Christopher and Desiree's Docs. This weekend they plan on visiting the Route 66 museum before coming home on Monday.

I see our docs are still having their mini-meet in Ontario....Maybe they are confused and think that the fair is going on in Pomona instead of Costa Mesa....I have called UPS and informed them to please ask the docs to move along..

dare ya to post that on the main board...

:rolleyes1

I have been instructed by my psychiatrist to not visit the main boards any more. It's very bad for my already low self esteem. There's not enough medication in the world to save me any more.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Did I miss something? Seems I read her somewhere that some of you already know your dinning rotations? Where might I find this information?:confused3

Tom

Yes, if you are concierge, you can find out your probably rotation...which of course [DON'T READ THIS STACEY!!!] is subject to change. :goodvibes

Our docs are:
07/25/2008 5:54 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY :cool1:

Now I have complete sympathy for our docs. They had to wake up at 2:27 A.M. to leave from their Oakland vacation. Arrived at 4:04am, and were slung into a truck for delivery at 5:36am.

Normally I'd oppose having any creature (animate or not) wake up that early, but it serves them right for lingering in Oakland that long.... :rolleyes1

I know that several of you have the waterproof Olympus cameras. I was wondering how well you can see the LCD screen when you're outside in bright sunlight. Also, how is the quality of the pictures taken indoors? I ask because I've got a Pentax Optio W20 (I think) which is also waterproof. Most of the time, the pictures taken outdoors turn out pretty good, but it is very hard to see the screen when it is bright outside. Many times I am having to guess at where the center of my photo is. Also, pictures taken indoors are not so great...very grainy. (I do have other digital cameras that I use for indoors. The Pentax is mainly used only for swimming and at the beach.)

I'm not sure if I really need another waterproof camera, but I was kind of looking at either the 770 or the 850. I just don't know if I can justify buying one unless someone tells me that they can see the screen really well in bright sunlight and that it takes fantastic pictures. I'd be using it mainly for swimming, possibly snorkeling, and for taking photos of the kids at the beach.

Any opinions?

Thanks,
Kim

I had the Optio 10 and just got a 30. Was hoping they'd resolved the issue, since they "claim" that the image is better on the screen....but it isn't. You're going to find that problem with ALL the digital cameras that have the LCD screen.
That's why I love my new Pentax 40Dx...you have to use a viewfinder with it. But then, I can't take it in the water, either.

I know what you mean, I have cut down a lot there, but it has been very nice for the last two weeks, and everyone seems to be helping everyone else on all of the posts and threads I read.

There are only 1 or 2 posters who seem to think their views are the only ones, and we all should adopt what they say. Its a big shame that things have changed in 2008, from a freindly board, to Dissers PMing me saying they wont post anymore worrying about what 1 or 2people will post back.

Just think Stace two or more weeks you will be on vacation.

Hi,

I checked the PZ poll for the Wenches' Lunch - 22 wenches have responded and 50% have voted for 8/21.

Anyone else want to respond please do so - I think we should pick a date and hopefully get it included iin our navigator.

8/21 Wenches???

Depending what time is lunch..I may have to back out..our VR is that day and once I talk to the consultant..I will be able to figure out if I can still go..maybe just a quick stop by!

Did mine yesterday. And it's a good thing, since last night the belt on my printer broke. It's just one thing after another lately.
I think it was printing all the door signs and magnets that did me in!!! ;)

So today, or tomorrow, I'm off to buy a new printer. I may not have any money left for the DOTD.

I double dare ya :rotfl:

Triple dog dare you! (Yes, minor breach of etiquette to skip the double dog and triple dares . . .)

Question:

If someone on shore wanted to "call" the ship ..what number would they use?

I know it is expensive but I want to give a family member the number in case of SERIOUS emergency!

Chrissie

He can come sit with us, Madison will keep him entertained :flower3:

I hope you are serious, Roger! Drew said he would LOVE to! He can tell from her emails that Madison has a very fun personality. Need to have him send another one to her!
