Wow! All that for $39!
The package DCL sells looks pretty weak. A banner, a hangy thing and a cake (on a ship full of "free" food) that they would insist on delivering 13 days before his birthday. Awesome!

Well $39, and it is hassle free.

BONG! BONG! BONG!
Now all firefighters report to Deck 9 aft.
Grease fire in Topsiders.
BONG! BONG! BONG!

Birthday Celebration Idea:

What about a special door magnet? Maybe some ballon shaped magnets with curling ribbon hanging down.

Dining Question:

How do some people know where abouts they are sitting is relationship to other people? Is there a way to find out who we're sitting with before we board? If not - it'll just be a surprise.

What a cute idea!!! I have a door magnet that has balloons on it already but I think that I will thread some curling ribbon through it. :)

We know who we are sitting with because we linked with them when we booked on 1/31/06.

...:yay: ...lisa.....i bet that a load..of your mind...* i didn't think passports
..were all the necessary..but i just read..in our dcl guide book..* they are
required..., :scared: , good thing..my lil'cutie..didn't listened to me.

:) Well, I thought we were taken care of but when going through my confirmations I couldn't find the travel insurance info. I knew that I had called them right away after booking the cruise. DUH!!! We couldn't book insurance at that time because the cruise was too far out. I called accessamerica this afternoon and now we are covered! I couldn't believe that they still let us get full coverage this close to the trip. :worship:

I doubt we will have room for extra hangers, but I would bring some if we did.

I think I remember reading somewhere on the DIS that you could ask your room steward for extra hangers. That would be much more convenient, if true.

I think I heard that too. But with a cruise this long, I would imagine you would have to request right away as they will probably run out:confused3

Not sure what company you were looking at but here is one that has a one hour ride and leaves hourly 8 times a day
http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Horseback-Riding.htm

How about in PV if you don't have plans there yet
http://www.puertovallartatours.net/tropical-horseback-ride.htm

Thank you. I was trying to find a tour that was at least 2 hours but if we can't do that that first one is the place that I was hoping to book at before in Cabo. We do have a 4-5 hour excursion planned for PV already but I think that the one in Aruba is looking good. Thank you!

I have a question....Kevin works with this Know-it-all,Disney Expert. They've been talking about the trip for the last few weeks and Kev mentioned that we were going to try and set up a Photo Shoot in front of pirate: Ship in our costumes. Well the "expert" says "Oh,you can't do that! It's on Disney property and corporate wouldn't allow non employees in costumes on their property. They wouldn't want anyone to confuse them with Disney Characters. " And he mentioned something, about some actress, that tried to wear her Peter Pan costume into one of the parks and there being some kind of brew-ha-ha about it. I just want to get that picture taken to rub in his smug little face!

That is so dumb! :lmao: All you have to do is show him the shot of Todd and CJS meeting on our last cruise to blow that theory of his. You can't get more nonavoiding than that.

Then I wonder why they let every little girl in the gates, dressed in full princess attire. I think unless you are trying to take away from a charactor or charge to have guests pictures taken, there is no problem. We can have 250 pirate's autograph a special copy of the photo for Kevin's buddy!!

:thumbsup2 The only thing they told Todd to not do when he was dressed as CJS was sign autographs.

I know that Disneyland will not allow adults in costume (I once had a sock hop costume on and they made me remove the scarf and the crinolin (sp?) and then I could go in (had to put it in the backpack) They said the rule was no costumes for adults in the parks but I can't see what CC would not allow it..especially because they have encouraged people to bring pirate costumes!

What about the Halloween party event? There are adults in costume then. :confused3

I will definately be requesting some additional hangers! The majority of our formal & semi-formal stuff will already be on hangers but there will be things that I'm just going to fold & pack and want to hang when we get on board.

I wonder if the stuff you send out for DCL to iron for you comes back hangers? If that's the case, then I wouldn't need to ask for any extra.

Whoo Hoo! :cool1: I was just able to book the Alcapulco City Tour & Cliff Divers for my sister and BIL. It had been fully booked until this afternoon. It was available for the second time slot which ends at 1pm.(Isn't that when the ship departs?). So, did DCL just add a second time slot or did I just get lucky?

I'm glad you were able to get the insurance! Ever since DS broke his arm the night before we were supposed to go to WDW I make sure that we have it on all our vacations. We had it for that trip and I had almost cancelled it but decided to keep it - I was so glad that we did, got all our money back without any problems.

Actually this is not true , I have been asked numerous times if I was getting off on Castaway Cay to take pics with the Dutchman by Rachel the CD and also Frank the head of security .. Also I have seen another guest , it was a girl who dressed as Jack Sparrow and she came off the ship in full costume and got pictures with the dutchman with no incident .... From what I understand , in the Parks they DO NOT allow you to dress up unless it is a special event like Pirate and Princess or Halloween thing ... But I will Double Check before we get to Castaway Cay , but I am almost sure there would be no issue ..... Heck if they let me take pics with there Jack and have even asked me too take pics with the ships Jack I dont see any issues taken a picture with the Dutchman ... Remember Disney does not own the Dutchman .its on lease from JB .....

pirate:

Todd, have you thought about taking a picture from deck 10 looking down on CC and the FD also as long as you are dressed up?

I'll share my mantra with you:

IWILLNOTFREAKIWILLNOTFREAKIWILLNOTFREAK

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I finally decided that if I don't have it, and can't buy it onboard or in port, then I don't need it. I took very little on the Mexican Riviera...repeated outfits a few times, and got along just fine.

I tried this and it didn't seem to work...I wonder if I had a martini first would the mantra work better:lmao:

We know who we are sitting with because we linked with them when we booked on 1/31/06.

We linked with friends also so we know who we are sitting with, just don't know what our rotation is, though we did request 6p.

We packed our first suitcase- kids' clothes and some toiletries, etc for Disneyland.

It came in at only 48 pounds!!

Woohoo - that's great!

I haven't even gotten the suitcases down from the attic yet. I'm going to have to this weekend and at least get the formal stuff packed up.

I believe if you're not "linked" with anybody specific,it's just the luck of the draw. :confused3

That's my understanding - DCL will try to match you up with other cruisers who may be close in age or have children similar ages. I have also read of tables where they are all honeymooners.

The pirate Red Beard was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter who was looking for juicy stories of excitement and derring-do. He told Red, "I'm sure my readers would love to hear the tale behind your peg-leg."

"Well, I was thrown from the ship during gale force winds, and before me mate could throw me a line, a shark bit me leg clean off!"

The interviewer was sort of disappointed. "What about the hook at the end of your right arm?"

"I lost it in a sword fight with the Captain of the Guard!"

Again the reporter was disappointed. "Certainly there's an exciting story about the patch on your eye?"

"One day, I was out on deck, and a bird flew over and pooped in me eye!"

The reporter was amazed. "That's why you wear a patch?"

"Well, I'd only had me hook a couple of days!"
