I was thinking of doing that too, but I still think I'm too old and my stomach is definitely not flat enough - my girls say go for it mom. But I did get my first tattoo about a month ago, at 48 years old, and the guy who did it said I should get my belly button pierced. Anyway, the tattoo hurt like a bad sunburn for about 2 weeks. Think I am having a midlife crisis! :rotfl2:

Debi
Hey Debi...I'm Debi!
I'm planning on my first tat around Xmas.....I'll be 51.

Me too...ever since I have had kids I tear up at all the milestones in their life, even now. DSeaU graduation, Dreams show, Til we Meet again, sadly enough, while we were eating breakfast right before we left the ship last time, I was sitting there crying. Yes, I know ridiculous. But I knew that the cruise we had just finished would be special because of the things we had done that time and the ages the kids were at that time. Next time (this trip) would be different because they would be older, maybe wouldn't want to do as much with us, and just a different experience. They were happy tears, but I felt so silly sitting there crying. It goes back to "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion." ;)

My favorite Disney memory ever is when my DD was 2. We were leaving the park after a long day from our second trip to DL. Right before we were headed into the train tunnel to exit the park, Mickey came over and gave her a big hug and shook her hand. I told Mickey that he was her favorite and he grabbed her hand and motioned for us to follow him. He took her to the annual pass center inside the park and at that time they put your picture on it. Well, he had them take his picture with her and put it on a plastic card and gave it to us. I still have that card and think it is the coolest thing ever. She looked so cute walking next to him and holding his hand. I don't think I remembered to get a picture of that part, but it is cool.:wizard:

So yes, if you see me crying at some point during the cruise, it will probably be tears of joy because I am a little too emotional sometimes. (yes, my husband appreciates it as well).:)

That is one of the sweetest things that I have ever heard about happening with Mickey. :)

I cried at the last breakfast too. Not too much at our early seating but when our late seating friends came in to say goodbye and then we followed them to say goodbye to all of our other DISpals we were a bunch of blubbering babies. :( At that time we were all rebooked for the December 2007 cruise and would see each other in a year [some before that] but it was still sad that this amazing experience was coming to an end. Of course with the Repo announcement we all switched our December cruise to either the May or August and all but two of the kids' buddies went on the May. If you see me tearing up during the cruise I will admit that even with the friends who we are cruising with this time and all of the new friends I have made over the past 1 1/2 years, there will still be something missing for me on the ship. We have cruised with one family three times and when we were looking at their May pics DD would frown and point at a picture with her friends and say that she should be there or there in the picture. I knew just how she felt.

...How was the cake? I was thinking of surprising Brendan with this for our room?

Chrissie

It was very good. We ate some that first day and then kept the rest in our "cooler" and enjoyed another piece the next day. It's part of the package and comes with decorations for you stateroom, too.

Hey Michelle:yay:
Not a stupid question:flower3:
Stace had a picture of someone with a clothes line on their verandah so it can be done. You don't want to do it on Panama Canal day and probably not your underwear:rolleyes1
I forget who it was that used S-shaped hooks to hang wet bathing suits out there:confused3

Anyone know if a magnetic clothes line would work :confused3

There is a pull out clothesline in the bathtub.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

Samantha Brown's Weekend Getaway's Show is doing Cabo TONIGHT at 10:30 PM EDT on Travel Channel. The previews show lots of shots of the Canyon Zip Line Adventure.

DH is bummed b/c he is at work, but I'm going to report to him on it . . .

Thought it might be helpful for some other pirates :)

Have a wonderful day!:cool1:

I hope it airs. So far this evening the Travel Showing isn't showing what they have listed. They have all these great programs scheduled, but all they are showing are casino shows.:confused3

Attended the funeral for my friend today. I was blown away when I drove up to the church and the only available parking was 2 blocks away. Then got inside and it was like a high school reunion. Many people traveled quite a distance to be there.

There was a picnic afterwards that I didn't go to, in the hopes that I would get a call from the potential employer. Since I never got a confirmation call yesterday, and there as some talk of it being at 4:30 today, I stayed home just in case they called. Well, they didn't, so no interview and no life celebration with old friends.

Your friend must have been a very special person to have that many people love them. It sounds like there was a wonderful tribute to their life all day. :grouphug:

All the posts of the magic's horn today...

Show of hands, who's gonna get a little verklempted when they blow the horn?
How about when you board?

:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
Just a smile..it is a gift to my pirate friends!

Chrissie

Aww, Chrissie......:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: . Thank you!!!!!

Hi everyone

I tendered my resignation today...I have mixed emotions...I will miss the kids and feel awful I could not say good bye...but it was time...

Chrissie

 you are such a lovely lady...only good things will come your way

Is it August yet?

I really need a vacation after today. First off, I had to come into work early to pull a 12 hour shift. Before that I had to take my cat to the vet and my car completely died half way there. Then once I got there I had to put my cat down. And then on top of it, I wasn't able to go to Disneyland today. For you that don't know, today is Disneyland's Birthday.

Happy Birthday Disneyland!

This is the first time in 9 years that I haven't been there to celebrate its birthday there.

:grouphug: So sorry for your rough day and your kitty. :grouphug:

I'm finally feeling a bit better today, starting to get my voice back and trying to catch up on the boards. I don't get sick very often, but this thing has kicked my butt this week. I'm glad its now rather then next month.

Glad you are feeling better. You will have an iron-clad immune system for next month :thumbsup2

Tough day today......anyone up for virtual drinking buddies???

 Sorry for your tough day - chat, did someone say chat???

:lmao: Sounds good! It'll keep me on track.... Not sure how that'll work with the stroller though!

Upper body workout. Cool.

OK so I talked to DCL this morning... :surfweb: Then the TA emailed and said there was an upgrade available from a 12 to 11 (for a price, of course) so we took it and got it all situated with the TA.... Only to get an email from the TA a few minutes ago saying that apparently DCL got their wires crossed and there was never a room.... :furious:

Well that sure isn't hassle free.
I hope it works out for you.

I'm not a heart-on-my-sleeve kinda gal. I've never cried during a movie, ever. But the horn at sailaway gets me, the end of Disney Dreams gets me, and Tink flying during fireworks gets me ever time!

Sorry about your cat and the rest of you crappy day.

forgot about Tink. Add that to my verklempt list.
Also, the whole till we meet again confetti thing.

We'll have to go for a stiff drink after that one.

I have similar memories of DSs, 3 & 5 at the time taking off through Fantasyland with Peter Pan. And last WDW trip - my DS9 reached out to hold my hand walking up Main Street. I remember thinking "Where else besides here does a 9yo boy reach out to hold his mom's hand?"

Favorite DCL moment was DS8 (then 3) meeting Cinderella. Every time we saw her on the ship he would say "Mom, there's Cinderella. She's beyooootiful!" When he finally got to meet her on the last night of the cruise, he said something to her. She didn't hear him, so she bent down to his level. He asked why she was there instead of in her castle. She said "Becuase I wanted to be here with you" & flicked him on the nose when she said "you". DS8 just went "AAaaaahhhh" and almost fell over backwards! Magical.

Look at him, he's trying to be all cool.

I'm comin', I'm comin'. I gotta ketchup first!

that one snuck up on us, huh?

Hi DeeJay
I have a 17 year old sister in-law going send me private message and I will send you her e-mail address. This will be her first cruise so getting to know someone in advance will be great. We are from Colorado and she has not meet anyone inadvance yet so this would be great.

Your going to make me play again aren't you. Congrats! pirate:

And to think my wife was yelling at me "Stop trying to get the pirate: and pay attention to the road! You are driving!"

She can be so unreasonable sometimes.....

(Ok, I was actually home when I got it, but was watching while out shopping - not driving tho)

We're right across the elevator lobby in 8582 and 8584.

Howdy Neighbor :wave2: , we're 8586

:wave2: Right back atcha!

We have 4 children, 10, 8, 3 and 1.5. I humbly apologize in advance for any ruckus you hear through the wall. Oh goodness, it's so much less pressure when you don't know your neighbors...

They are really very good, but I'm afraid to say that lest I eat my words... ;)

HEE HEE I forgot to mention! I came up with DH's personal theme for this cruise.

Back through the Canal - More Rum, Less Coke

Last time he want through the canal he was prize crew of a fishing vessel they busted with 2.5 tons of cocaine onboard - but no rum!

This time, presumably no coke, but lots of rum!

Thanks!

Well I am going away from a place that I am not appreciated...(appreciated by kids but not necessarily the ones that should show it)A big stress relief...

I am getting more hours at another job (with kids),have a PT job at Bed and Bath and I will be able to focus on my PERSONAL artwork...It's a good thing and knowing of this change I can fully enjoy our TOAL w/o the dread of going back to that place....

Chrissie

Chrissie --

I'm so glad it is means you're going to a much better situation. It's always hard letting a rough job go, but sounds like you will be much better off (and maybe they will finally appreciate what they're missing!!)

Have a much better end of the day!:cutie:

I'm assuming he was the captain of the Coast Guard vessel that CAPTURED the fishing vessel . . .LOL . . that is amazing amount of coke . . .can you imagine 2.5 tons of RUM??
