Yeah, it was a gamble I took and I lost. I took the risk but I want you all to know I in no way blame Laura! This is in NO WAY her fault and I know it's a lot of work what she's doing with the secret mickeys. As I said in my post- she said it just turned out a lot of the girls didn't want girly stuff. That's not her fault at all- she has to work with what she has, yanno? I just don't want children disappointed if we're their SM- that's all. I appreciate all of Laura's hard work and in no way fault her for anything! This is why I haven't started buying SM gifts. The greatest thing about SM is that you get to know other people that you may not have gotten to know otherwise. In the past I've gotten people that I didn't know at all including Laura herself. I also know from experience It's hard enough to organize something like SM (or dining for that matter) without having to meet everyone's special requests, making these jobs nightmares. Sorry, just my 2 cents.![]()

I emailed her that I think it would be best if we just withdraw from the secret mickey- because I don't want to cause her more work than she's already doing with this and I also don't want to disappoint other kids. I can just put these things in my kids FE's and I know they'll like them PLUS I'll have extras I can just randomly surprise other kids in their FE's--- and it would be extra, not as their SM, so they won't be disappointed. I don't want anyone to wish they hadn't got us as SM's- yanno? And this is in NO WAY Laura's fault- it's mine. I took the risk buying things ahead of time and little by little so I could afford it better- and I'm glad I did because we really couldn't afford to buy stuff at the present time. We're already buckling down as much as possible to pay for everything on the cruise with all our bills and gas going sky high (I know everyone is feeling the pinch too!) But I took the risk of buying things ahead of time and then turns out there's no one to match me up to that WANTS those types of things. That's totally my fault-not hers in any way. I just want to make that clear.
Thanks so much for all that you're doing Laura! We all appreciate you so much!

My son would probably like to talk to them too. I should probably get him a gmail address or something. LOLDid you know that we have a ton of kids listed on the kids page who would like to e-mail in advance of the cruise. The kids are listed under parents DIS name, so a parent to parent contact must be made first.
We have
11 3-7 year olds
27 8-10 year olds
26 11-13 year olds
12 14-17 year olds
Well Claire may have a little secret mickey anyway. heheClaire says *Thank you, Disboard people!*And as the youngest of 5 she thinks she is a princess EVERYDAY!

I'll try that way next time. Samantha was at Hurricane Harbor (with friends) that afternoon which is why Brian was INSISTING that I take them to Hawaiian Falls -- it was his insisting that caused me to say *No*.![]()
We didn't do the Secret Mickeys.
(oh and your first comment about claire- ditto... Rita is the same way! LOL)
Ah, did you tell Brian we were there that day? LOL Funny....... you sound like me. INSISTING we do something is a sure fire way to get a no answer. hehe
$1 for the washer, $1 per cycle on the dryer. Many times it takes more than one cycle.
Thanks for the info!
I'm taking the small packages of Tide. I don't know if I have enough though- just a few stashed away. I may need to a trip to Target for more though- i don't think our Walmart has them!Speaking of laundry, I still haven't found Dropps. I tried Super Wal-Mart, Target and Bed Bath and Beyond, but nobody had them. I did see small packages of Tide(2 wash size) at Target for .99. I might just pick those up instead.

Well if we're just aiming to not go naked- then I'll be okay.I made my "clothing list" last night. Wow. Fifteen nights of dinner on the ship, two nights' pre-cruise....and the sea days, Palo and Brunch.
What it boils down to is this: Very few dresses fit me right. If they're big enough to fit on top, then they hang like a bag on the bottom. God love the new style that looks like maternity dresses, at least they fit. So what if I'm 50....maybe I'm carrying a child for my infertile daughter!!![]()
So....I have maybe 5 dresses, then I have several skirts and tops....but the rest of my outfits for dinner are either going to be skorts or capri's and tops that can double as outfits for brunch or sea days.
Too bad if no one likes it. At least I'm not going to dinner naked.

Yes I saw it- and actually thought of the same thing!![]()

ME ME ME!!!! Did ya see that, Shelley????
I did TOO play with dolls when I was a little girl....despite being a tomboy. My Barbies beat up my brother's GI Joes all the time!!

Almost every one of your posts reminds me why I like you so much. I'd totally have done the same thing! LOLHey LilG....re: your property/neighbor problems. I can't figure out what this world is coming to.
We've had the same problems with people misusing the outer edges of our property....and with people dumping garbage in the dumpster behind our business.
The sheriffs told us that before they would even consider doing anything, we had to post NO Trespassing, No Dumping, Private Property signs.![]()
Isn't is obvious to these people that they don't own any of it?? I mean, come on...they don't pay the monthly dumpster bill, and they don't pay the taxes on our land......![]()
Something is really wrong with the world when we have to do that. It's like "Property Laws for Dummies".
And take lots of pictures.
Funny story.....one time, someone dumped tires in our dumpster....which we would have to pay money to dispose of. The idiots also were stupid enough to dump their daily garbage in there too. The sheriff wouldn't do anything, so we got the illegal dumper's address off the mail in their garbage, loaded all their junk into my husband's truck, and dumped it back in their driveway. We never heard a word.![]()
LOL Well I'm not much of a jewelry person but I imagine I can dig some out of the cobwebs in my jewelry boxes (that wonder why I ignore them for years LOL) to find something. IDK about flat shoes- I think I may have a pair or two but my black flipflip crocs are my favorite attire for the past few years! LOL I'm gonna be so classy (not) -as long as people don't point and laugh I'll be okay .... LOLDon't worry, I'll have my black capris and a couple of nice blouses packed in my bag too. Just throw on some cute jewelry and a nice little flat shoe and you'll be fine! And don't you dare skip dinner on formal night girl!!!
I need to find ATLEAST a skirt or two and some blouses. I relate to Stacey's post- things don't fit the ENTIRE me- each only fitting a part of me. So seperate pieces might work better I think. (hey what dresses are you talking about Stacey? new style that looks like maternity dresses?)
That would work for everyone except our ST. emphasis on the stinky. LOLAll this laundry talk -- my big tip is to bring Tide to Go sticks (more than you think you need -- they are wonderful!) and some things can be worn more than once without washing. I used these on the Med and Med repo cruises last year and was able to take little stains out of things and then reuse them or me or the girls . . . it was wonderful and really cut down on laundry. I have bought 2 packs of 3 sticks to take this year.
(OMG NO ONE tell her I said that! LOL)
