We will be rushing with you!!!:thumbsup2

Yep, yep! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the info BTW, hopefully Disney sticks with that!

There is a Galley tour and its advertised in the navigator, you sign up at guest services, Also there is a tour of the ship first day thats posted in the navigator.

The Galley tour is very good I did it in 2005 on the last repo, its 30 mins, starts in Lumieres and you end up in Parrot Cay

All free and on the galley tour you get a cookie or cake, we had some times offered on a sea day, there was a lot of people so we went off in groups every 5 mins or so, If you do not see it advertised go to Guest services and ask there, they will know, for this repo I expect it will be held a few times.

Additional there are behind the scenes tours such as the Walt Disney theater the art of entertaining series as well

Thanks for the info! We'll definately try to catch some of the tours!

We found that out on Friday night also. And the last I'd heard, Disney had bought back the stores. :confused3

I remember reading that they were going to be closing around 80 of the stores after the switch. One of ours closed (Poughkeepsie), I don't know about the one up in Albany or the one in Middletown.

Hi Gang,

I'm just popping in to say Good-Bye. After brunch w/Mimosas - my DD Lori is taking us to the Magic.

I'm not going to try to keep up w/y'all - someone can tell wme what I missed when I get back!!

Happy Birthday - Sue and to anyone celebrating while I'm gone.

Bye :cheer2:

Bon Voyage Chris!

Does anybody know what the "Cute Puppy's" name is?

No, I just got the PM to add the Thistle family "with service dog" . . . at least it should be easy to locate them on the cruise! On our Med cruise last year there was a family that was training a golden puppy to be used as a service animal, and it was the cutest thing ever -- particularly when Pluto started playing with it in the atrium!

Hello everyone!

Just checking in.

Wow what a month! I decided to do all night shifts for the month of June (10pm-7am) to try it out (usually work 2-3 nights a month) Monday-Thursday with weekends off. What a mistake. By Thursday I was so exhausted it would take me 2 days to recooperate.

Well, I won't be doing that again.

I had no time to post. Hope everyone is well. Hope to Ketchup this weekend.

Nice flag Todd!:)

:scared1: What a horrible schedule! Glad to hear that it's over.

Happy Birthday Sue!

That was an unretouched quote, but with the time warp, Andrew was able to go back and change it.

Then my original question holds. How much does it cost and is there still availability?! :)

Mike, is your interest in going to the 6:00 "sinner" or saving those going to the 6:00 "sinner"???????;)

STACE: Please see above:

Thanks!
Coral

I am so sorry I missed that!!!

As soon as we got to the Doubletree...it was just about noon straight up.....we checked in and then signed up for the morning shuttle. I thought we'd get an early time, since we were checking in so early. Ha! We were given 11:30. I did manage to move us to 11:15 (not much but a little better) by sharing with another family going to Royal Caribbean. No big deal, the two terminals share the same parking lot.

There were a TON of families at the DT for RCI, DCL and Carnival, which was docked over by the Queen Mary.

The shuttles are typical hotel shuttles, just like a Super Shuttle van. I didn't think he'd be able to fit all of the luggage in the back, because the RCI family had 7 or 8 people in their group and at least 12 bags, plus the 4 of us and our 5 bags, but he did it.

They were right on schedule. You check in at the podium by the front of the lobby and then wait in the lobby for them to call your name. It's not even a 5 minute drive from the hotel to the port. Easy.

The only thing I'm thinking now is that since we're driving to San Pedro, we'll be arriving a little later....we'll probably end up with a 1 pm shuttle. :headache: I wonder if I can call and sign up for it?
Or bribe a fellow DISer into adding our names......:rolleyes1

I was afraid of that. Even 11:15 is kinda late. Did you happen to see anyone else at the hotel using any other options like a cab etc?
It sounds like the Palo brunch scramble may have to go on w/ out us.

I had made inquires on how to do the "highlighting" that was shown in the example posted. I have all the deck/cabins ready to go, but so far, I have not been able to get anyone to tell/show me how to do it. I was just told that it was a lot of work and required more than powerpoint to complete :confused3 . I had not given up yet, however I never heard back from you on the PM I sent you. Is there someone else working on this????

I was actually just playing around with doing something like this last night. I had a picture of the deck plans, and used a photo editing program. I just used the little "paint bucket" icon to fill in the staterooms with a DIS green color. It's not 100% perfect, but it doesn't look bad. I was trying to figure out how to add text to list the cabins alongside the deck plan this morning, but gave up on it to go swimming with the kids!:thumbsup2 I'll probably try to play around with it tonight.

Yes, some people had called cabs. And that may be what we do....except it would take two cabs to hold 5 women and all their luggage. :sad2:
I don't know what the cost of the cab would be, but it's so close, I can't imagine that it would be very expensive at all.

Both times now that I've gone out of the Port of LA, I've been late to port and checked in and walked right onboard. Maybe we WILL call a cab, just so that we have time to actually check out the terminal building.

I just called Yellow Cabs in San Pedro and a really nice guy said we could call for a cab, no problem. He actually said at first to check with the hotel as a lot had free shuttles. I thought that was nice.
When I explained that we wanted to get to the port quicker than the shuttle he said "Sure, just give us a call and we would be happy to take you from from the hotel to the port".
So.... maybe that will be an option after all. :thumbsup2

Coral

ETA- Just say Stace's earlier post so I guess a cab it will be.

Someone did this for us on a past cruise, and it was so great.

For my last cruise, I just made my own chart, with names and room numbers, and put them in order of floors, from forward to aft. I didn't have to wander from starboard to port too many times. I forgot to do that on my chart.

Did you get any specifics? The last I heard from the concierge, cabs were not an option.
Have you and Tom figured something out?

Good one! :lmao:

I was going to do a dedicated SuperShuttle or the Red Bus - both are expensive but there's 5 of us with 10 cases. I've not booked it yet.

Thanks for that, Coral. At least now I won't have to worry if we don't check in until later.

One thing I do want to point out....but then I should put it on the Pirate Zone.....for those of us planning dinner at the port....the Doubletree has really, really good food. And the price wasn't bad. I LOVED their outdoor patio, and there's room enough for all of us.
If we ate there, the people without cars wouldn't have to worry about transportation to dinner.

They closed up the shop in Waterford Ct.:sad2:
