Very cool!!! I love to quilt. Not an expert - by a long shot - but absolutely love it. You have my creative juices flowing already.

We can talk on the cruise. I am thinking sort of a 'crazy quilt' concept. Do you know what it is? Lots of oddly shaped scraps all pieces together. They are victorian and it would include 'silks' from prayer books, any little scarp of fabric or embrodery that meant something.

But I resist with all my might doing the final quilting - I farm it out. I only like the piecework. You can find ladies in your commnity who will do it for you by the sq ft. I think you were upstate NY - do you have any mennonite communities nearby?

The day after I cancelled my cruise because my family was coming in from Italy, I received an email from them saying they are not coming until 2010.
I called DU and they put me on hold and called Disney to try to reinstate my reservation. Sadly, it ended up where it would have cost me $1200 more plus loss of my $300 onboard credit. My room had already been given up, so I would be in cat 11 gnty. I declined. I am pretty stunned about the news that they changed their minds to next year. I knew it was a possibility. I should have just stayed with my plans and then just saw them when I could. I might take my plane tickets and see if I can switch to the week before that I have off and maybe use my DVC points. I am so sad about my cruise.

Here's hoping you can still have a nice vacation in Florida !!! I know, it won't be the cruise ... BUT try and plan a fun staying at WDW !!!! DO NOT WASTE those plane tickets !!!!!!

Oh no, I am so sorry that you have had your plans messed up like this. What a shame. I really hope you manage to get it sorted so you can use those plane tickets and have a great time at WDW instead - I am sure you will still be thinking about the cruise but I know I would definitely rather be at WDW to help cheer me up rather than staying home and wishing I was cruising.

I LOVE those x more weeks til the cruise posts you put here! It seemed such a long time to wait when we first started the threads and now it is just 10 short weeks! Woo Hoo!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Isabelle had her 4th birthday yesterday and we went out for the day with her friends. Tomorrow we have a party. The weather forecast keeps changing and as it is an in the garden party I need lots of warm dry vibes sending please! The forecast has gone from light rain showers, to heavy rain showers and now it says dry but cloudy with a breeze... Fngers crossed!!!!!

Oh Kristin, you seem to be getting every illness going. I hope you are not too run down. Make sure the rest of the family take care of Mom instead of Mom looking after them!!!

The Canon D10 gets good reviews but it is not a cheap camera, I would love one for our holiday but having just upgraded my DSLR and got a new lens I can't justify the outlay on another camera!

We are from England so a little too far for us for your pre cruise meet up!

Regarding Tortola I believe we dock in Tortola so no tender to port unless there are unusual circumstances.

the dock is pretty long I believe it will fit 3 ships, we were lucky with being the only one there and also in St Thomas

I received the Canon D10 for Mother's Day. Unfortunately I haven't tried it out yet because I was lazy about ordering a SD card for it (I have Sony cameras and lots of MemorySticks). I finally placed the order for a 16MB SDHC card from Amazon which shipped today. There was a thread going on late April-into May and someone posted pictures she took on hers. It looks good. The price is around $300 depending on where you order it from. I can't wait to use it for our snorkeling trip and the Disney water parks pre-cruise. I had sold some gold jewelry and was going to buy a cheaper one (Olympus or Fuji) and my hubby caught me off guard and said he was planning on buying me this one. I was totally surprised (we don't usually exchange big gifts). It's a cute camera too-can't wait to play with it. It is a bit on the wide side because the lense does not extend outside of the housing so I'm not sure if it would fit in a front pocket-but definately in a cargo pant side pocket for ease.
