Kritter,
My family is interested in joining in the fish extender fun. I don't have enough posts to send you a message yet, so my sister, Andee, will be sending you the specifics.
Thanks!
Erin

Thanks,, Erin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking at my reservation on the DCL website today and saw that our waitlist for early dining came through today. I check every couple of days to see if our Category 7 GTY has a cabin assignment. I noticed today that we now have Main Dinner Seating. It was Second Dinner Seating yesterday.

Things are starting to fall into place....if we could just get a cabin number I could stop stressing about that!

Discrazzy, that's great!!

And we received our cabin assignment today! We're in 6542. I checked the stateroom reports and it looks like a great location. (a little further from the soda station than Sean would probably want but hey, our veranda will face CC when we dock there! and it's a clear veranda versus a solid one...) Anyone have any thoughts on this cabin? All the reports are from 2005 (2) or 2007 (1) ...
We have main dining too.
I am soooo ready for this trip..... :cheer2:

Hey Everyone! There has been a lot of action around here while I was off all day.:goodvibes

I love to hear all the talk about the FE gifts. We haven't decided for sure yet what we are going to do...lots of ideas ...we have to see how creative we can get. I think that I am narrowing in on a few ideas though. It will be good when we have our final number as well so that I can get things started and know where I am at. I would like to think of a local gift but am kind of stumped with that one.

I have decided that I am going to ship the FE gifts and all the lanyards to my stateroom ahead of time and not worry about how to pack it all. With limited luggage, I think it will be the easiest.

Jude - How exciting to get your cabin assignment!!!! :cool1: That looks like a really great cabin!!! I love the fact that it is in between 2 elevators, has a clear veranda and it doesn't have a connecting room.

How is your week going? I bet you are counting the days until vacation!!!

Good Luck with the tournament!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thank you - they WON!!!! :woohoo: It was a beautiful weekend for baseball, so nice after all the rain outs and disappointments this spring! ::yes:: This is a 12yo team - these boys have been together for years - and they're working their way toward a weeklong tournament in Cooperstown, NY (home of the Baseball Hall of Fame for our European friends) in late July.

I really love to watch them play, first b/c they work hard all year long for the season, second b/c we know all the boys and their families so well by now, and third b/c I love to take pictures - great excuse to get out the camera gear and shoot away!:cool1:

But...now I have many pages of our DIS meets to catch up on! Time to redirect my attention to sweet dreams of cruising!:cloud9:

You were the one who convinced me to give it a try! :goodvibes After we talked that night I decided it was silly to try to pack it all.

Hope you are feeling better tonight and that you got to bed early last night!

You guys will have a great time in Cooperstown. Timmy went last year. The place is not as nice as Ripken's in Myrtle Beach or Aberdeen, but it still is very nice. It is so pretty up there in the mountains! Have a great time. Let me know if you have any questions about Cooperstown. We can recommend some great places to eat! However, a warning, everything is expensie up there!

Timmy's team is doing the Sports at the beach tournament in Rehobeth Beach Delaware this weekend. It is also supposed to be a really nice complex. The dorms there have airconditioning, so the boys are really excited! They also have a pool onsite.

Even though our kids are a little apart in age, we should try and get them together on the cruise. It sounds like they both love baseball!

Definitely! Kie lives and breathes baseball and loves all sports. He devoted a huge amount of time on our last cruise to the sports deck!

We did the 10U tournament in Cooperstown two years ago; it was a wonderful experience! And...I LOVE the low walls around the field - great for picture-taking!!!!:rotfl: I'm so sick of trying to shoot between the fencing!:headache::laughing:

The Ripken and Rehoboth tourneys all have great reviews - as well as the Disney ones. Alas, except for Ctown, our coach does not like to travel, so we play local. Now, having said that, we just played in NC, and have two more "Away" (ie, need a hotel) weekend tourneys coming up. Just the way our schedule worked out.

Good luck to Timmy this weekend!!! :cheer2: I'm guessing he's 13U? What team is he on?

I broke down and bought the Wii Active Personal Trainer. I had gotten the Wii Balance Board last year for Mother's Day and haven't been on it in a year. While I was setting up my profile (unfortunately with kids and hubby in the room) my Wii Mii shrank and expanded to match my profile. Well, they thought that was the funniest thing EVER. I got so bummed I haven't played since, talk about unmotivating! I have friends that wouldn't get on their kids boards after hearing that and one friend who's Wii age was about 20 years older so she doesn't play either. Anyways...I decided to give this a try. A 20 minute workout took me almost an hour this morning with the tutorials. I had a lot of remote issues, I'll have to ask the kids later to check the batteries, I kept losing connection which was frustrating. I have it set for the 30 day challenge so we'll see. I'll continue to walk and do my kickboxing too.

Now if I could just learn to tune out the sweet tooth...

Gina

Seeing how many people on a upcoming cruise try to loose weight, I checked with my doctor about my health and here is what he had to say

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ..... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
