Has anyone else had trouble saving excursions to their wish list? On my wish list it says Cane Bay Beach Break St. Croix , but when I go to excursions on St. thomas where I saved the Butterfly Secrets & Mountain Views it says it is saved to my list, but it does not show up on my wish list, cane bay does.. All my others are right ( palo, the baths at tortola, Seahorse Catamaran Snorkel Adventure CC).:confused3
I did that before the 'wish list' link has been set up incorrect and if you save The Baths you get St Croix, and it doesnt work when you book.

Also on the booking where the 'ports' toggle is, you can hardly see it, its on the right, you can 'toggle' this to view one port at a time, its helpful if you do not want Castaway cay for an example.
This sounds brilliant ... we might end up choosing this excursion too !!:thumbsup2

I have to read again what sites we will be able to see ...

laura :goodvibes

Yep see you on it!

Hi Everyone,
Now that the cruise is getting closer :worship:, I'm going to start picking the brains of you seasoned DCL cruisers. On my last cruise, whose cruiseline will remain nameless ( ..NCL !!) :lmao: we were allowed to walk off with our luggage at the end of the cruise. Does DCL allow the same ?
I hate the idea of worrying about packing :scared1: when we should be worrying about our sunscreen on CC :cloud9:

I have seen people do it, but why?

DCL's disembarkation process is second to none, its quick and efficient.

They save you carting it around on ship last morning, then down the bridge to the port, then down the lift or stairs, Always my luggage has been there for me and I get off quick.

I know other cruise lines have a slow disembarkation process, deck by deck DCL do not do that and for certain airlines they have on board check in if you fly that day, and take it to the airport for you.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone.

I paid my cruises in full and I am now able to book my excursions. I am so excited. I probably will wait and maybe book a couple this week after my DD and I get to sit down and discuss what we both would like to do.

I would love to eat at Palo's too, but I hate to do it solo. I wonder if they ever have solo dining at Palos like they have at the main dining rooms?

Alright, I have been looking at the navigators and trying to really do some planning. As a result, I have come up with a whole lot of questions!!!:goodvibes Here is hoping you all will know more than me (and not be too annoyed with all I need to know)!

1. I see there is a Captain's Welcome Reception...does anyone go? Is it worth it? Do they serve drinks? Do you have to buy the drinks?

2. If you want to go to an activity...say the beer tasting...do you need to make reservations? How do you know if you need to make reservations for things or if you just show up? How do you know if it costs extra?

3. Anyone know what the cost is for the spa pass that gives you access to the rainforest room (is that what is is called - the place with all the showers and benches)? We enjoyed this last time (had the REAS package) but am debating it for this time.

4. Besides Palo, what do you recommend doing for lunches on the days we are at sea? Do you just eat casually from like Plutos? Do you go to one of the restaurants? How do you know what they are serving for lunches?

Alright, that is probably enough for one night! :rotfl: Here is hoping to have some answers (and I bet some other newbies had many of the same questions!).

Thanks everyone and have a great night!
Jen

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

I have a question on Palo reservations. I need to make a reservation for a group of 7. I would like to do this online and I am the only Castaway Club member in my group. This means I would have to make 1 reservation for 4 and a second for the same night for 3 and then have Palo's link them to one reservation once we get on board correct? My question is, will I be able to make the 2 reservations online? Or does it limit me to 1? Would it let me make one and my husband make the other? What are my options? Any help or advice you can give is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Jennifer

Thanks for the link Andee! I did look it up to see what time the sun would set because your photo is beautiful!

Thanks! The Palo photo was from brunch- we forgot our camera when we went to Palo for dinner during sunset :sad2: and a CM did not come by to take a Shutters photo. :confused3 One draw back was that we missed the Golden Mickeys (sun set was around 7 then).

I have a question on Palo reservations. I need to make a reservation for a group of 7.
Jennifer

Jennifer - you may be able to get a private room at Palo - no extra charge. I'm not sure if 7 is enough for the room - worth looking into. I have been part of DIS gatherings in the Palo room in the past, but someone else has always set it up. I'll look into how you do this (but I bet in the meantime someone else here will know how to book it!) :thumbsup2

I think I read that you have to have a much larger party for the private room and unless it has a view I don't think I would want to go that route! Maybe I'll try asking my contact at Dreams Unlimited. She may know how to do it.

Keep the suggestions coming!

Thanks!
Jennifer

Hi Jen,

Some answers for you - i was sure someone would have beaten me to it but the really knowledgable ones must be busy today! I should be making my WDW ADRs but I can't face trying to do that with both girls here and in highly excitable mode after having friends for lunch so will wait til later when they are in bed!

1. I see there is a Captain's Welcome Reception...does anyone go? Is it worth it? Do they serve drinks? Do you have to buy the drinks?

Not sure...

2. If you want to go to an activity...say the beer tasting...do you need to make reservations? How do you know if you need to make reservations for things or if you just show up? How do you know if it costs extra?

You can go to Guest Services and ask about bookable activities includiing tastings, tours and tea with Wendy. They will let you know which are extra.

3. Anyone know what the cost is for the spa pass that gives you access to the rainforest room (is that what is is called - the place with all the showers and benches)? We enjoyed this last time (had the REAS package) but am debating it for this time.

I *think* it is $15 a day or a week pass at a discount which was $75 but I may be wrong here, that just rings bells from another thread.

4. Besides Palo, what do you recommend doing for lunches on the days we are at sea? Do you just eat casually from like Plutos? Do you go to one of the restaurants? How do you know what they are serving for lunches?

DH and I intend to book Olivia into the nursery one a couple of the sea day lunch times say from around 11am til 1pm and take Izzy to the club and use the time to have a lunch date in the restaurants and maybe have chance to enjoy the adult pool together. I think the lunch menus are displayed outside the restaurants.

Some more answers:

Nope, the private room at Palo is enclosed - no view.

Has everyone seen the great Tortola Navigators posting - this has EVERYTHING!!!:cool1:
http://home.comcast.net/~roveer1/DCL Navigator.pdf

Rain Forest: typically $15 day, as Melcatfish reported. I don't know if you can do just a single day unless adding it to another spa service. The recent Navigator (pg 30) didn't mention single day, only a 4 day ($45 single/$85 couple) and 7 day ($75/$135).

The Tastings (Beer/Wine/Tequila/Martinis/Whiskey) are typically around $15 and pre-booked at Guest Services (see page 32 - different prices for various Wine Tastings)

Getting more and more excited!:woohoo::yay::cheer2::banana::cool1:

Thanks for this information - especially giving me the exact page numbers! I plan on printing that whole file out and highlighting the stuff that I want to remember. It will be going into my planning file!
