Hi all
I hope that everyone had/is having a wonderful holiday!!! We sure did.

I could use some help if anyone can provide assistance. (yes, this is a hotel planning question on the cruise line thread but I've already posted it on the resorts page and since many of you know the hotels as well as the cruise insider tips inside-and-out, I wanted to ask your expertise too!!) We decided to spend a few days at WDW following the cruise. We've always stayed at SOG (huge rooms, decent military discount) but the dining plan isn't an option there. We were thinking of staying at the Pop Century and using the dining plan for the last week of August. Do you have any recommendations as to how we should book this? Travel agents? Ourselves? Are there "deal" things we should know before booking?? Any help you can give us is really appreciated.
Thanks!!
See ya in a few months!!
Jude:confused3

I spoke with my friend she said to check with Disney Direct. That is where she got her price and she is keeping her fingers crossed for the free dining too come out at that time tooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the UK we often get WDW offers before you, Disney like to go for the UK market,, free Dinner plan has been offered for a time now for Mid to end of August 09 and the start of September, if you stay on site.

This years sales for arrivals 09, have been changed and now there is the value resorts plan which is the free counter service food plan and the deluxe free dinner plan the one that has been on sale in previous years for the Moderate and deluxe resorts.

Bookings at WDW and flights into Orlando are down some 20% year on year since October so expect offers at low season times.

Lastly British tourists to USA and Disney will fall considerably due to the very poor exchange rate, Brits are more likely to go All inclusive to the Caribbean in 09

It will be interesting to see what Disney offers this year...

None of the DCL deals they have come out with thus far are anything too great.

Our friend who is an accountant for Disney said there sales are down but they are fairing much better than other parks, Universal, etc. So even in tough times Disney still knows how to make money!!!!!!!!

No major problems I hope

Well, kind of sort of??!!! Thanks, for asking.
In the past three years I have had five pneumothoraxs. (Collapased Lungs) for no reason. Had four chest tubes and had 20% of my lung removed too.

Last Sunday I had some pain in the back of my chest and thought that maybe the lung had collapased again. Then on Tues. I had a massage and the women massaging me told me that my back felt different than it has in the past. I still had the pain. So today I could not take it anymore when I went to exercise. It was killing me so I went for a chest x-ray and saw the same dr. that first diagnosed me with my first collapased lung. He said I have plurasy around my plural of my lung and it is really irrated and enflammed. So he gave me some meds. and told me not to exercise for a few days (which is going to kill me)... Hoping that it will get better today. But it put a stop to our plans today that was for sure. We had wanted to take the kids to see the new Disney Movie Bedtime Stories and got o Bruce's cousins house for the evening. But that is not going to happen.

Hope you had a nice day Ed!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear the iinflamation has flared up again.
While not the same I've had pneumonia twice and know that pain in the back of the shoulder. Follow the DR instructions and get plenty of rest.

Feel better soon

Hi former cruisemates. Gotta admit I'm second guessing myself about canceling this sailing after our November cruise which was so great. Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We're off to WDW tomorrow for the week. We've never been there during this oh-so-crowded time but we're hoping for the best. Best to all of you.
Jeff

:lmao: We have already booked our Hawaii trip (though we haven't yet told the kids) and Maui is really a siren song for us. But DCL has also pumped up the volume on its own siren song for us too.

Jeff,
I will be at Disney for New Years too, which park are you going to do on NYE? I'm thinking Epcot or MK? I know they will be crazy busy, but it should be fun.

We are planning to go to Epcot. We are meeting friends with whom we have cruised twice who will also be there to have a "drink around the world." My only concerned is that the park is still letting folks in later in the day as we are planning to be at the ESPN Club in the afternoon to watch my alma mater (Pitt) play in the Sun Bowl. We have dinner reservations at Le Cellier as well so hoping we don't get shut out.

Oh ! I'm sorry for you !! I had a bad pneumonia last November ... I can imagine how bad you must feel ...

:goodvibes BEST WISHES that you feel a bit better soon !!!
