Hi, all!
Wow - It's good to see there are more "dance moms" out there on this cruise ... Something we have in common, I guess (although I guess I'm technically a "baton mom").
DD7 (Gina - For those of you who asked, her birthday is August 3rd, she will have just turned 9 on the cruise) has her recital in the morning, her first (and a first for our family since she's the only girl!).
She's a little nervous, but she's performing just one baton routine with her class of 8 girls, while she did a routine on her own at the school's talent show last week, so I'm sure she'll be fine.
I'll post a picture if I can get her to smile tomorrow!
Good luck to everyone's girls in their recitals and to all of our kids in their many activities that go along with the end of the school year!
As for the cruise, I'm in the process of getting transfer offers from TA's, so we'll see which one gives us the best deal - I know DCL's offer is not the lowest out there!
Oh, and my DH's favorite character (female) is Jessica Rabbit - Guess what kind of guy he is! Keep dreaming, buddy!

Hey I resemble that remark. I guess I'm a dance dad ! Last night was the 7 hour dress rehearsal. Recital tomorrow. DD9 solo was great! She is actually the youngest girl doing a solo - it's mostly high school and middle school girls. There's only one girl close in age (10) also doing a solo so I give her a lot of credit for having the guts to get up there and do it. And the four year old is falling right in line as a dancing queen.

I got home from work today to get DD ready for her dance pictures. It was a rush time and she said she didn't feel good but I chalked it up to her having a bad day at school. (which she did because her teacher called me) So I made her go through the picture process anyway. Fast forward to 45 minutes ago she said she didn't feel good. She has a 103.6 temp. Now I'm paranoid she'll have another seizure, and I feel bad! I doubt this years pictures will look good (understandably so). Bad mommy!

OMG Abby, I hope she is feeling better!! Keep us posted!!

Hey Harry!
Big game tomorrow. Not only won't I be there, but I won't be watching either! My DDs dance recital is, you guessed it, tomorrow afternoon. We may catch an overtime at the restaurant where we have our post dance dinner but alas it is not to be. Hopefully I won't have to look forward to a game six.

i have about 11 years of costumes so many cause each year i went from just tap and ballet to 2 tap classes, 3 or 4 jazz classes, 1 ballet class, 1 lyrical class and 1 hip hop class. LOL i was very busy then i stopped cause i already take dance at my other high school plus kickline at my regular school and well it would of been way too much dancing if i still danced at my dance studio. so im taking a break from the studio until im ready to go back LOL which wont be for a while

Do you want to continue on with dance when you are out of high school? Today I was watching reruns on VH1 of "So You Think You Can Dance". I love that show! Can we expect to see you try out one of these years?!

Hey Rose! My DSis and her family as well as my family are also booked with the TA. I'm so pleased with her! How did Gina's performance go? Well I hope! Gwynne's first year recital was almost disastrous. She cried and cried but I left her backstage before she could make a run for it. But she found the courage to go up there and do the routine and she did pretty well. We don't have baton classes here but you reminded me that my DSis took baton when we were kids.

Happy Saturday. I tell you though, this has been the longest day. Not sure if that's a good thing or not at this point. Both of my kids were up before 5. I decided I had nothing better to do than clean the house at 5am! She and I both took naps around noon. DD is still running a fever, so no t-ball for her today.

Hi Kristin! How was your day? We are getting ready to call it an early night. Actually I think everyone is already asleep but me, and it's only 8:30!

She also has a sore throat. I've been looking for signs of strep but . None of us in this family have ever had it.

I think we are going to do the same my stomach has not felt well all day actually for a few days, the kids and I have had headaches off and on all day too!!!!!!!!!

Watch the fever a few times that is the only symptoms mine have had...I hope you all feel better and get some extra rest so you stay healthy. Call me if your up to it tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It must be the weather Abby, Caitlin has been running a fever since Thrusday night. Up to 101, give her some medince and down to 99, then up to 100 again, with her allergys we suspect a sinus infection. If the fever isn't under control by Monday, then its off to see her Dr.

Well today was the day to fix the kitchen door. This door has been a problem since we moved in back in 2001. As you know the latch part give out earlier in the week and it locked in a position where I had to take the door off the hinges to get the door open.

Well it finnaly is fixed, and for the first time in years it closes and latches without a battle.

Once again watching all the old "This Old House" shows pays off.

i couldn't because i was already stuck with Dreams and she ethically wouldn't take it on. And to cancel and rebook would have lost our onboard discount and credit..so I'll be on the outside looking in while you folks have your cocktail party or Palo brunch (sniff sniff)>

Glad the door saga seems to be fixed. What does "This Old House" suggest for toilet paper holders? I've been having issues with mine for months now. I tighten it up, it becomes loose, I tighten it up again, and it becomes loose again! When DH was laid up from his first surgery, the darn thing completely fell off the wall! Maybe DD is grabbing on to the whole thing for dear life when she's going potty (it's almost out of her reach), or maybe I'm not putting the toilet paper roll on the "right" way. I dunno! Who knew a toilet paper holder could be so aggravating.
