Welcome aboard Rose and family!
We have a DD9 (she'll be 10 on the cruise - will your daughter be 9 or 10 on this one?)
When we get closer to the cruise our dd's should email each other. Mine is also 9 and will also be 10 on the cruise.![]()
Hi, everyone!
We are joining the group on the 7 Night Eastern to Tortola.
We just got off a 3 Night on the Wonder on Sunday morning and after (1) 4 Night back in December 2006 and this 3 Night, we decided to take the plunge and book a 7 Night!
Most of the 7 Night cruises that fit in our kids' school schedules were crazy priced, around $10K for (2) Category 10's (Summer, Christmas, Spring Break), but this one worked well for us at the end of the Summer for around $5800.
Florida has this rule about not starting school any earlier than 2 weeks prior to Labor Day, but that falls on September 7th in 2009, so school won't start until August 24th.
We'll get back just a few days before school and the kids (DS14 will be starting High School, DS11 will be starting Middle School, and DD9 will be going into 4th grade) will miss their school orientations, but no actual school days.
We had a great little group on our 3 Night with 8 families participating in an FE exchange. I'd love to do this again (maybe in small, broken up groups or just one gift per family?) and also have a few meets. I was brave enough to sing karaoke at one of our group meets and that was a lot of fun!
If you have kids near my kids' ages, as we get closer, maybe they can email each other. With the longer cruise, I'm sure they will spend more time in the clubs!
We are very excited to be going on the 7 Night, but I think afterwards, we won't want to go back to the shorter cruises ... We'll be spoiled!
Later,
Rose![]()
Just thought I would pop in and say Hi!
How is everyone doing?
I am looking forward to the Friday countdown. Makes it seem as though it isn't too far ahead til our trip.
Has anyone ever cruised in August before? Wondering what the seas are likely to be like. Our first trip was in Jan and the seas were moderate so the ship wasn't too rocky.
My job today is to try and stay cool. We are expecting temperatures to hit triple digits today.Hopefully that will be short lived and we will be back to normal temperatures at the weekend.

Hurricane season is from June 1st to Nov 30th, so its quite a long season. Just need to make sure I have my trip insurance in place in plenty of timeand plan any outings via Disney, just in case...
Having crossed the English Channel by ferry during a gale force 9 storm(gusting to force 11) a several years ago, I think the Magic will have better stabilizers

Good morning Harry! And anyone else out there!
Harry - tonight is do or die, eh? You going to the game? Pens look like a team on a mission with the way they are playing defense.
Hope everyone is having a great week. We are gearing up for the girls' recital this Sunday. Dress rehearsal on Friday. DD9 is doing her first solo this year. Dad's going to cry!![]()
Happy Thursday!

Hi Rose! Welcome to the group! I have a DS who will be 9 at cruise time. We are definitely looking forward to doing group stuff on board! I think we've already recruited a group for the 80's night . Can we count on you too?You are going to LOVE being on the ship for 7 nights. Even 7 nights doesn't seem long enough.
Forget the 80's night. I just read a thread that 80's night has been gone for a while and replaced with "One Hit Wonder" night.![]()
Hey Abby!!! I want to put Jordan in a good dance class, the YMCA was OK, but we really wanted to see how she would like it. I will probably do it in the fall.
I'm up for that!!![]()
