We don't have Spring Break for a few more weeks. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought Spring Break was usually around Easter, or is that only in Maryland. Most schools have the week before or the week after Easter around here, my sister's kids in Pa. were off the week before.

Mine are normally off the week after, but with it being so early, they pushed it back. Our last day of school is June 5th or something like that. Last year it was June 14th because of all the snow days they had to make up. My sister's kids get out May 22nd! I think that is early! How about Jordan?

She is actually in a pre-K daycare, they are open all of the time, summer too, so she will be there until around mid August when she starts Kindergarten, she will be turning 6 in September, so she was past the cut-off for Kindergarten this school year, we kept her in her daycare, as they are an accredited Pre-K too.

It usually is but because Easter was in March they will be giving us our usual week off in April!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello...Just checking in to see how everyone is doing....Hope everyone had a good Easter...

Illuminations is our favorite fireworks show. Love it.

We have seen it from the front of the park (front row seating that I had to get there an hour and a half before show started in November! Luckily it wasn't too cold!)

But the best place IMHO is from one of the pontoon boats that moor up under the bridge between France and England. Great view, but you also feel the fireworks through the boat. We have done it twice this way. First was Easter 2007 with family from the UK (a special treat for them), but we also got a boat for our 10th wedding anniversary in Jan this year. OK it rained a bit, but still cool. We took champagne on the boat with us and sat under umbrellas. Fun.

Thanksgiving they add a few extra minutes of fireworks. WOW. Amazing. Not sure how long they offer the added show for or if they do it at other times, but they sure do light up the sky then.

I've seen them from the land and pontoon boats. Personally I perfer the land, being crammed in under the bridge with the other boats, all we could see is the flames and feel some heat. I saw more of it from the land

Must say I didn't like the new show as much as I like the old show from the late 1990's

It's amazing all the stuff I survived as kid that today pose such horrendous dangers!?

How True, we used to ride our bike's without helmets, ride in cars without seatbelts, and ride in the front seat too. It's amazing any of us lived.

Help you two?
Do you have any white bread ma'am?
Yeah.
I'll have some toasted white bread please.
You want butter or jam on that, honey?
No ma'am, dry.

Do you have any fried chicken ma'am?
Best damned chicken in the state.
Bring me four fried chickens and a Coke.
You want chicken wings or chicken legs?
Four fried chickens and a Coke.
And some dry white toast please.

Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it.

From one of those chain emails that goes around and around and around....

Those Born 1930-1979!

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930’s 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren’t overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.

And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD’s, no surround-sound or CD’s, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms…….WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them . . . CONGRATULATIONS!

: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?

Are you the police?
No, ma'am. We're musicians.

You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.

No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

I hear excuses like that (and better sometimes) almost every day!!

Great movie!

Good night everyone!
