Very nice! We are also headed there this summer. We traded out of DVC for a week at Marriott's Ford's Colony. Have you been there before?

Let us know how that goes Harry, we want to go again down there with my DD and looking for a good resort. :goodvibes

Harry, I see in your siggie, you went to DC last year, where did you stay? How do you go about doing the trading with DVC? How far in advance, we really want to do some trades, what are some good tips? TIA:goodvibes

Like you, we've been there before, but no kiddies back then! We really enjoyed it there, but have waited for the kids to get a bit older. We plan to mix it up - Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, the historical areas, and of course the resort pool. That way everyone will have some fun!

I definately think Busch Gardens was a beautiful theme park, and of course the roller coasters are awesome!! We never did see the historical part.

We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental - it was quite nice. We had adjoining rooms and took a friend of ours from England who was visiting. First class hotel - it was excellent.

For the Concierge Collection, or what's left of it, we've booked as far out as 6 months and as near as a couple of weeks without any problems. This coming trip to VA is our first Interval International trade and we did that about 11 months out. I think the key to getting what you want is to plan early and be flexible.

The Mandarin Oriental looks really nice. Thanks for the tips about being flexible, I would probably have just called and requested a certain week. so that's good info.:goodvibes

Definitely on the roller coasters! Tim loves roller coasters - went on his first wooden coaster at age 4! He's progressed up the ladder as his height has allowed!! Jake on the other hand has been tentative with his rides - only starting to hit roller coasters last year. He did do the orange team for Mission Space last year - changing his mind at the last second, which surprised all of us. Now, he claims, that's one of his favorite rides... I expect he'll be hitting the bigger coasters soon, too.

We tried to trade out a year or so ago and there weren't any instant matches... we didn't feel like depositing our week and waiting so we just went with a DVC stay...

Hey, Harry!!

How's, it going tonight????????

It's goin' okay... I'm beat - long day!! We ended up dragging the grill out of the shed tonight and had an impromptu February BBQ! The part that sucked was that I had to clean it all up and put it back because winter returns tomorrow..... :sad1:

Harry,

We fired up the gas grill for lunch too, must have been the day for it. :goodvibes

Hey Everyone. You are such a chatty bunch I can't keep up!!!! We have decided to try and book a Mexican Riviera cruise. I'm just waiting for a return email from Dreams. It's the Aug. 10 sailing so I think I"ll be meeting some of our group from this sailing then! :cool1:

Happy president's day to all.

By the way, where is the Nintendo store in NYC? Never had a need for it before but now that my DD is 9 and we have a WII and a DS I think I'll be visiting on my next trip into the city.

Hi Jeff! Good luck getting the Mexican Riviera cruise booked!

Hi! Just back from NYC.... took a chance with the weather, but DD & DW stayed behind. It was raining when we left around 8AM, but then the sun came out and the temps were in the 60s! I have to go back tomorrow and I hear that it will be FREEZING!! At home right now - there are nasty dark clouds on one side and those huge, white thunder-head clouds on the other... it looks like a summer T-storm is approaching!!

Anyhow - the boys got what they "needed" from Nintendo World and I picked up a few things at WOD (mostly Mickey chocolate bars which, according to DD & DW, are the best on the planet!!). Hit the M&M store for some snacks for the ride back, too. Yummy NYC pizza for lunch and then we were gone as fast as we got in!

For those thinking about a trip to the WOD store - they are having a Broadway & Sea event going on for the next several weekends... Jack Sparrow...er, Captain Jack Sparrow, will be conducting a Pirate Academy, some other characters are making special appearances and there lots of kids activities -color a tropical lei, create a princess accessory, face painting, and a Mickey drawing class.
Today's character was indeed Capt. Jack Sparrow! Jake was thrilled to say the least! We love going there - it's a time where we can almost imagine we are actually at WDW!

There's a Little Mermaid show coming up next week (I think they'll be performing a couple of songs from the show and then signing autographs).

Not too crowded today... obviously a federal holiday helped and I think the wacky weather kept a lot of people home. We didn't bring DD because of threat of nasty weather.... she's a handful on a dry, sunny day!! :rotfl: We'll probably head back, as a family, on an upcoming weekend. Next weekend is the last one for the Pirate Academy, but Tim has a swim meet so that's out. The following weekend, Mickey & Minnie will be there so I suspect that may work (weather permitting).

Off to the gym for me now....

That sounds like so much fun! I bet normally it gets packed for events like that though?.

His sniffly nose has dried up somewhat as he's taking Day Nurse drugs tho' he still feels crappy. He didn't want to go to work BUT had a dinner scheduled with the Big Boss so couldn't duck out... :sad2: It doesn't help that he's seriously thinking of buying into a start-up broking business with some buddies so has kinda lost interest in Citi right now...

Karen-
Feeling any better today? Yesterday we had two girls out sick with the flu. Their families had it last week. This flu is turning us paranoid. Every night when I get home from work I disinfect all door handles, nobs, light switches. We've all been going to bed early so we are staying rested. When will spring be here?!

Harry-
I looked for a CDC flu map update yesterday but the last one they had was Feb. 9th. Did you go backwards through the weeks and see the changes? It was pretty amazing from week to week how bad it's gotten.

Morning Abby! 'Fraid not!!! Probably feel worse if anything... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I had a couple of dates with girlfriends planned this week - already cancelled one and have had to put the other on stand-by - I hate to do this as both of them need to talk and I'm their easy listener!!! :goodvibes Oh well... Plus the baby's home for the week (OK, so Samuel's almost 15 but he'll always be the baby to me...) and now he's sick too - it sucks!!! :furious:

Anyway - that's enough about me! I hope the rest of the Treasure Seekers have a great Tuesday... :grouphug: :dance3: :flower3:
