8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

I hope everyone had as great a trip as we did. It was nice to meet as many of you as we did at the gathering. It made for a lot of familiar, friendly faces around the decks.

Thank you for all of the wonderful FE gifts. My boys were so excited to check our fish extender everyday to see what was waiting for them. SOOO many things were hits with them. We also enjoyed making all of our deliveries around the ship. It was a nice opportunity to explore different floors and areas of the ship. Karen, your room was always our last stop before heading to Topsiders, loved the back door "secret" entrance.

We just learned that Noah's friend and soccer teammate is on the EB Repo. I am so jealous.

So, who rebooked onboard for their next cruise??? We rebooked for Nov 2009 and I am kicking myself now for not booking 2 dates...one for next year and one to transfer to 2010 when the itineraries are released.

D'Anne - So what date did you book in Nov. 09? We are on the cruise the week after Thanksgiving (actually two days after thanksgiving). Do tell!

Hi everyone,

We just got home last night around 11:30. We were supposed to be home earlier but were once again delayed in Newark.

I wanted to thank all of you for the wonderful fish extender gifts. We all had such a great time looking for the great surprises that were awaiting us when we returned to our room. We have also rebooked but with a dummy date since we are looking to cruise again in 2010. I hope they come up with some more new options for 2010 since we really want to be able to go to Castaway Cay on our next cruise. We would love to do an Eastern Caribean again or even a Southern Caribbean. We loved our stay at Disneyland. The weather was fabulous. Too bad the weather isn't like that in August in Orlando! We really liked how you could walk to everything. The funniest thing happened to us on our 1st day at California Adventure. We were getting ready to get our picture taken for our Photo Pass when this woman comes up to us and asks to be in the picture with us. At first all I could think was "Oh my gosh, who is this crazy person!" Then it occured to me that it was my friend Michol whose girls are in the same grade as Samantha! What are the chances of that!

Hi all! yes, the reluctant cruiser is not reluctant any longer. we rebooked with a dummy date hoping for something cool in 2010. i'm hoping there will be a double dip again. we hope to do a land & sea then, it would be our first trip to WDW after numerous times at DL.

it was so great meeting you all! special hi to jeff & mina, we really enjoyed the tasting too. i liked talking to you better than most of the martinis! but i did like the choc one. did you take the recipes? i forgot & now regret it. if you have the recipe for the choc one, i would love to get it. how was the st. regis & your extra days? very jealous that your upcoming cruise is so soon!

also hi to festus & jan (who i'm sure are still lurking)!

We didn't take the recipes either. Ooops!

I posted a trip report of sorts on the page with the group with whom we are cruising in November. If you are interested, you can see it here

The St. Regis, of course, was beautiful but we were a bit turned off by the crowd. Too many wannabes running around acting rich. It was annoying. And unfortunately our youngest got some kind of bug that had a spiking fever for four of the five days there. Thank goodness the resort was so beautiful since we ended up spending more time there than planned.

Hi Jeff,

I just read your report. Loved your pictures! I'm sorry to hear that Emily got sick at the end of your trip. We've been in the same situation in the past, but I'm usually the one who gets sick! Did you receive a survey from DCL? We did and I certainly informed them all about Ocean Quest. It is too bad that the program was so bad because everything else about the cruise was so great!

When does school start in your area? We still have a week and a half to go here. It seems hard to believe that it is already time to go back. Summer has just flown by!

Suzcruz - I am so glad to hear that you all had such a great time! Maybe we will be together again in August 2010!

Hi everyone! We returned from LAX yesterday after one of our best vacations ever!!!

Firstly, I am so sorry we didn't make it to the meet and get to say "hi" to y'all - I fell asleep in our stateroom soon after arrival (I blame the trans-atlantic flight) and my DH didn't think to wake me!

Secondly, can I apologise for the FE mix-up! I totally forgot my list with all stateroom numbers and details so had to wait until I could access my emails to distribute the bits and pieces...

We had an absolutely, unbelievably awesome trip - the cruise was fantastic and our time in LA was amazing too! I fell in love with California and can't wait to return to see more. I hope to be putting a trip report together soon - I'll keep you posted.

Hope everyone's healthy, happy and rested after the cruise - I've just put in a request with my TA to transfer next August's booking to one of the rumoured "special" 2010 cruises as we found 7 days just wasn't enough...

Hi everyone! I am jd99's wife Mina. I was not posting prior to the cruise - but just wanted to say hello and thanks to everyone for the great fish extender gifts - and how nice it was to meet so many of you and to spend some of our vacation time together.

Hi, all! Our family came down with what I call the "Vista Spa Disease" on the last day of the cruise, and all but DS9 have been sick ever since, so I haven't been online as much as usual. (On my first visit to the spa, I noticed that all the spa staff had a nasty cough. Guess I should've run away then!) Other than that, we all had a wonderful time!

I want to thank everyone, belatedly, for the wonderful FE gifts. The boys were so excited, and loved checking our FE every morning, evening, and any other chance they could find. DS9 also had a great time exploring the ship and finding "secret" routes as we delivered our little treats.

I am sorry I didn't get to meet more of you, but I enjoyed meeting those few with whom I spoke at the cruise meet. Jeff, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you then, but I do want you to know how much I appreciated your organizational work! Also, I just looked at your trip report and pics, and realized, to my great surprise, that you and your family were seated next to us at dinner each night! Your girls are adorable.

Unfortunately, we weren't among those who rebooked onboard, though we do hope to take another DCL cruise in 2010 or 2011.
