8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

:disrocks:

Welcome new amigas!!:grouphug:
I am Ayumi from Cupertino (San Jose), CA. I have DH, DS6, and DD4.

We driving down to LA on 6th, stoping by at Din Tai Fung in Arcadia, then going down to Legoland for 3 days, but staying in OC for those nights just because of food. Then driving up to San Pedro after two stops. Do you think we can make it to meet you all?

I know, it is almost 4 am. I was preparing magnet door sign. It is not done yet, but got started.

As for FE, I was reading this Martha like Hawaiian craft artist's article. She made an easy to prepare shoe hangers (for keeping notes and stuff, not for actual shoes), but I thought this is good for FE.

She used vinyl sheets they sell at fabric stores (our local store would be Joann) by yard. Get thicker one and cut in desired size, then cut pockets in your desired size and quantity. Take those pins for scrapbooking that are split at the ends. They are called brads and they even have Disney ones. Target as well as Michaels would carry them. Poke brads and split ends to hold pockets and voila!!! Punch holes at the top and use ribbon or something for hanger. I assume just a yard is enough to make a FE.

Quick, cheap, fun, and easy!! :cheer2:

hope you can picture this...

Also, please know that we are going to have an informal DIS Boards Meet on the first day (Sunday) at 2:45 p.m. just in advance of the safety drill - and at the Promenade Lounge so we can all meet in person and the kids can maybe make a friend before heading to the Club or Lab for the first time.

jeff

Thanks for the welcome, Jeff. Yes, please include us on the cruisemates list. I will PM you the rest of our information as soon as I (a) have enough posts and (b) figure out how! Also, we’ll be sure to aim for the meet on the first day. Can’t wait to meet everyone in person!

Hi Susan!:wave2: You're on the same cruise schedule as us. This is also our second DCL cruise and our first was in May 2006. We did do a NCL cruise around Hawaii last November, but it couldn't compare to the Disney magic. pixiedust:

D'Anne

Hi, D'Anne! We loved our first DCL cruise so much that we said we’d have to do a west coast cruise if it ever happened again. I’d love to hear more about your Hawaii cruise sometime, as DH and I are thinking that might be a good way to explore more than one island without constant packing and unpacking. I’ve done a couple other non-DCL cruises in the past, too, and you’re right, it’s just not the same. Still fun, though!

Welcome Aboard! I have a Dylan too! He is 5 though! I hope you plan on having fun with us! This group is great!

Thanks, Andria. We’re looking forward to having lots of fun! :yay: Our Dylan is almost 2 (Sept.) but – sometimes unfortunately – THINKS he’s 5. He’s met one other Dylan, and will be so excited when he figures out there’s another one on the cruise.

Ok - To you newbies out there...see below!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that means you Mom2PiratenPooh and KeithBPatterson!

Thanks for the welcome, Ayumi! The kids and I are driving down to LA from Auburn the day before you (DH will fly down to join us on the 8th), and are also going to Legoland (and DL). I'm starting to think I'm insane to try this. We may be exhausted by the time the cruise begins!

We may be exhausted by the time the cruise begins!

Same here, exactly!!

Are you coming non-stop from Auburn?? In that case, we cannot complain. It only takes us a good 5-6 hours ONLY. We go pass Auburn every time we come back from Tahoe!! Plus, my DS's best friend's grandma lives in Green Valley, so we here a lot about your neighborhood.

Have a safe driving, and if you see an Asian teeny tiny 4 year old w/ piggy tales running all over Legoland, that will be our DD4. You can find our DS6 stuck at the world display section for sure. :scared1:

Did you know Costco has a great Legoland deal which is a three month exclusive Legoland membership, but cheeper than regular one day admission? If you have not bought the ticket yet, check costco.com>travel>legoland.

Ayumi

Happy Sunday my dear cruiser mates,

I thought I was done with my shopping and go on with my life of creating like door magnets or FE, but unfortunately, I accidentally found ANOTHER Disney warehouse store close by (which is near SFO).::MickeyMo I understand they have several in Orlando or LA, but why here?? Now it is my duty to go check it out.

So, Adios amigos y amigas! :car:
