8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Hi – I know I’m late to the party, but my family and I are excited to be on the 8/10 Mexican Riviera cruise, too. As the kids and I have been stuck indoors due to the smoke from the Northern California wildfires, I’ve spent much of the past few days lurking, and have finally overcome my shyness enough to join. This will be our second DCL cruise – our first was on the Wonder in 2006.

Oh – there are four of us: me (Susan, celebrating my b-day on 08/17), DH (Joel), DS8 (Zack, turning 9 at DL on 08/06), and DS1 (Dylan).

Welcome Susan, I am glad you decided to join us! :cool1:

Would you like to be included on our cruisemates list? If so, PM me your information: names, kids ages (i see you have this all above) but also hometown, which dining (early or late) and cabin number IF you want to participate in the Fish Extender exchange....

Also, please know that we are going to have an informal DIS Boards Meet on the first day (Sunday) at 2:45 p.m. just in advance of the safety drill - and at the Promenade Lounge so we can all meet in person and the kids can maybe make a friend before heading to the Club or Lab for the first time.

Hi Susan!:wave2: You're on the same cruise schedule as us. This is also our second DCL cruise and our first was in May 2006. We did do a NCL cruise around Hawaii last November, but it couldn't compare to the Disney magic. pixiedust:

We are going too! me (43), dd (12), and dd (14). This is our second time on the Magic. Our first time cruising in the Pacific. We are going Scuba diving in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta and the Best of Mazitlan excursion - all with Disney. Any pointers would be appreciated!

Wow! What a small world! We did NCL around Hawaii in Summer of 2004! It was wonderful! This is our first Disney Cruise so we are excited to see the Magic that makes this cruiseline so much more expensive!

While we were happy with the cruise and the service was fine, there seemed to be many people who were expecting a more "traditional" cruise experience and they were displeased. I found the service to be comparable to any restaurant we might dine in at home. It was good, but not cruise spectacular.

Because the itinerary is so port intensive, it was more like a floating hotel than anything else. We spent most of our days off the ship and the evenings on. Make your dinner reservations first thing in the morning if you can anticipate where and what time you will want to eat and you won't have any waits in the restaurants. We were on the Pride of Hawaii, which has since been moved out of the islands, but if the dining options are similar on your ship, the teppanyaki restaurant was our favorite. You'll have a great time as long as you recognize that in this case, the islands are your destination, not the ship. I would love to go back.:)

That's a nice birthday present! My kids love meeting new people! My oldest is happy she gets to go to the teen club this time, but Daddy wishes she was still in the Oceaneer Club!! :)

That is good to know! I'll have to "prep" my kids for the differences ahead of time. I've already made a bunch of excursion reservations so we will be spending most of our time off the ship too. I'll remember to make the reservations. Thanks!

Hi! My name's Karen (45) from England. I'm cruising with DH Richard (45) and DS Samuel (15)... Excursion-wise, we're doing the horse riding and teen surfing safari in Cabo; zip-lining in Mazatlan and the guys are doing the Marietas snorkelling in Puerto Vallarta whilst I'm exploring the town (aka shopping)... :rolleyes1

Happy Sunday, fellow cruisers - 4 weeks from today and we'll be meeting up in the Promenade Lounge... :woohoo:

This will be my son's first cruise and I'm nervous about whether or not he'll like the teen club - I so want him to have a fab time... :goodvibes

I like it. I'm in the market for a new iphone, so this works out just great! :rotfl:

If you are giving out iPhones, than maybe I will reconsider joining the fish extender exchange!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey guys, that is too many use of :rotfl: !!
iPhones or not, you have got to join the FE exchange!!
My DD and I will be walking around looking for FEs as our daily walk.

But remember, she is only 4, so do not count on getting iPhones if you are UP THERE. She probably gets bored after a couple of rounds :rolleyes1 .
