8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Well I called DCL and they told me they were only going to LAX and not any of the other airports...I am still watching airfare and could have gotten a better flight into another airport....

Hate Hate Hate LAX and even though I think I can do a little better with airfare from there, I'd rather pay a bit more and use Super Shuttle to the Port and fly into John Wayne.

Hi Everyone! I got my cruise packet in the mail today from dcl :cool1: I am so excited! This means it is getting closer! I hope some others join in soon....

Oooh!!! How exciting, Paula! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: Hope we get ours soon... :yay: :yay: :yay:

Travel agent actually sent ours last week. Great list of excursions for sure.

Really cool! So many exciting ones, it's tough to choose... :cool1: Any thoughts what you'll be doing??? Remind me Jeff, who are you travelling with???

Yeah, we're not fans but no choice from London! :sad2: Plus I got two of our flights completely free so I'm still :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: about that! ;) The plan is to pre-book a limo from LAX to the Doubletree at the Port...

Because this is outside of our usual WDW/Port Canaveral comfort zone, this vacation feels like more of an adventure somehow. We're also flying from a different London airport than we usually use, so have booked a hotel for the night before our flight - sooo our vacation mood will begin when my DH gets home from work on Friday August 8th... :goodvibes

It's me, my DW and two daughters, aged 9 and 4. My nine year old is intrigued by the kids dolphin encounter. Personally I'm intrigued by some of the beach excursions since we are not getting Castaway on this trip I know we are going to spend at least one day at one of the beach break types of things. There was a combo tour that had a sightseeing tour and beach break - I think in Puerto Vallarta - that looked like a nice day for us.

We really are just now getting excited about this trip as we have bounced back and forth as to whether we were going to do this trip or go to Hawaii this summer. We did that last summer and Maui is our favorite place on earth but various circumstances - the biggest being the desire to do something different - have led us to confirm this trip for sure. Now I have to get the hotel for pre and post cruise and the air booked! :scared1:

We are flying into So Cal either on the 7th or 8th to get us used to the time change a little bit before the cruise. I don't want to be in bed by 9 or 10 p.m. every night! :rotfl:

I refuse to see this thread on page five again. I want more folks to find us! Hellllooooooooooo out there!

I'm here, Jeff!!! ;)

Come and join us, people!!!

I see where you are staying 4 nights prior...I am guessing you booked that seperately...I called and tried to add a 4th night to my stay and they told me that I could not...

I can't believe that Disney won't budge on a third night! That seems so un-Magical! Yes... we did book our 4 nights seperately using our DVC points! we stayed at the Fairfield a few years back and i really wanted the whole Disney feeling this time around. We also stayed 4 nights at the Fairfield and everyone around me told me that I would have too much time at Disneyland's 2 small parks... but that was not true at all!!!! It was very nice... and we did everything at our own pace instead of rushing around!
As far as getting to the port... I think we will just do Super Shuttle.

Afternoon everyone else!!! :wave2:

I was just thinking about the cruise and it occurred to me that, in a couple of short months, the 90 day reservation window will open up!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

:sad2: This is our first cruise and can't book excursions until 75 days prior... I am worried that you will all take all the good excursions! I have heard that it can be tough to get what you want at 75 days... any advice????:goodvibes

We are going to the travel agent TODAY at 3:30 PM to get our Travel packet!!! I am soooooo excited! My daughter is 28 months old and sits with me everyday when I get home from work to read the new Passporter book!!! It's so funny... most 2 year olds bring their parents Dr. Seuss or Good Night Moon... Not my Jenni... She likes the Disney Cruise Passporter and the Imagineers FieldGuide to the Animal Kingdom!! I wish we were leaving sooner!!!! I am a teacher and will be wishing my summer vacation away to get to August 6 (the day we leave for Disneyland!!!!!). We return home on August 18 and then I return to school on August 20!:scared1:

Let's keep up the chit chat!!! It's fun!

I guess it depends how many repeat cruisers have booked. BUT I don't think the situation's too hopeless - I was told by a TA that DCL don't release everything for online booking. Sooo if you get to the port early, you can board early and then book onboard... :goodvibes

What excursions did you have in mind...?

I'm not surprised you're excited!!! I hope mine arrive here soon - I know they've gotta jump the Atlantic but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.... :worship: :worship: :worship:

She's got great taste! :thumbsup2

It'll be worth waiting for... :cloud9:

DEFINITELY!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Chit Chat. Chit Chat.

Happy Wednesday fellow cruisers. I'm definitely getting excited about the excursions. Going to sit down with the family and discuss soon - perhaps this weekend.

Also may book the Huntington Beach Hyatt for post-cruise. They are running a special that includes breakfast, valet parking and four 2 day hopper passes to DL (along with a S'mores kit). It's a beautiful hotel. We stayed there last year for a weekend during a trip to So. Cal.

What excursions did you have in mind...?

With a two year old... our options are already limited.! I guess we would be looking into a beach or resort getaway. I don't think that she will be very interested in watching brick making... although that doesn't thrill me either! I know that we can aleays just hop a cab to a local beach but I do always like the safety of a cruise line excursion. I guess the worst that could happen is that we stay on the Magic... and if that's the worst that will happen... I guess we are in luck!!!! If this is what we would do... what kinds of things can we do on the ship? She had better be potty trained early summer... or I'll just cry!!!!

This will be Jenni's second cruise... her first was an 11 night southern carribbean cruise just before her 1st birthday. She took her first steps on that cruise on our last night on board!:goodvibes She is a fantastic traveler!!! I might mention that her first ever airplane ride was 15 hours home from China... she is in fact our China Angel!:lovestruc

Ok... The Passporter Book is now an old book...we have a new favorite book!!! Our TA gave Jenni a Disneyland Vacation brochure book and she sat on the living room floor last night and looked at Every Single PAGE!!!!! She really takes after her parents with her love for Disney... but does she have a choice?????????:rotfl:

I thought it was strange that mine came from DCL and not the travel agent...but this is the first time I have used a travel agent so I wasnt sure....:confused3

:cool1: I just noticed on my previous post that my countdown is 4 months and 2 weeks!!! I am also wishing my summer away...That is the bad thing about booking during August, but my dd dances and June is recital and practice, practice, practice because we have National competition in July...so we cant go for very long until after that! This should be a great trip! :cool1: :cool1:

I know what you mean - IMO just feels less stressful.

What an absolutely fab memory! :cloud9: She sounds a darling... :lovestruc We had hoped to adopt from China a few years ago but it's just so difficult in the UK, we were gutless wonders and were defeated by the system... :sad2: I can't wait to meet Jenni!!! :goodvibes

...to you and you and you! :wave2:

I'm packed and ready to go so I'll see you all when I get back from Barbados...

Have fun! :goodvibes
