I have got a PS @ Restaurantosaurus @ 8:00am. This is what I don't understand. The park has an early entry on this morning @ 8:00. How can we get through the park entrance and still be at the Restaurant @ 8:00?

Also we will be staying @ Pop. What time do you recommend we catch the bus?

They will let in the folks with PSs ahead of time. That's one of the nice things about an early PS. I would try to grab a bus no later than 7:15. That will give you plenty of time to get to the gate and hike over to Donald's. By the way....it's one of my family's favorite meals. Have a great time.

Thanks so much for your help! I do have one more question for you, please. Is there a seperate line for people with PS? How do I let them know I have a PS, therefore getting in ahead of time?

Thanks again

Yes, there is a separate line. We just followed the sign to the gate that was opened and gave our name and time. After they verified our PS they let us in. Then they take a picture of your family and your server comes and escorts your group back to the restaurant. It is about a 5+ minute walk back to the restaurant.

We are doing Donald's for the first time Dec 4th. What can you tell me about the picture thing. Is it like the one at Chef Mickey's? We will have a group of 8. Can we all be together? Thanks!

We always get a PS for Donald's first thing... there is usually a person with a clipboard at the front gate, who will check off your PS time, and then someone will take several parties back at a time. You may have to wait again once you get to the restaurant, for a few minutes.

The picture is the same idea as Chef Mickey's. Yes 8 can fit no problem, we had 11 once.

This is an awesome br. HAVE FUN!!

I have a question about 8 a.m. PS's at this restaurant. Once you finish your meal, do you head back to the main entrance area for the rope drop/opening event with Mickey & Minnie's safari? Or do you pretty much stick to Dino-Land until official opening time? (this would be on a day without EMH, so we'd be entering at 8 or so with the park opening at 9).

Thanks for your feedback!
Jon

HarperWI... to answer your question when we did the breakfast last year, they actually have a seperate rope leading to the dinosaur ride area, so you can stand there and wait until 9AM, when official opening time then there is a guide that leads you to the dinosaur ride and you can be one of the first to ride the ride. I'm going back in Jan, and we made breakfast reservations purely because I want to be waiting for dinosaur when it opens. If you are the first family waiting for the ride to open the guide makes a big deal and you get to do something, I just can't remember what that something is.

A word of advice, I thought I would be smart and take our rental car and that plan failed because they let the buses in early but the cars they do not let in to at least 8AM, which made it hard for us to be on time to our 8AM reservation. We were late, which didnt matter because I made everyone shove their food down their throghts so we could get to the park opening at 9AM. I would rather have taken the bus and been able to enjoy my breakfast. In Jan we will be taking the bus! I learned my lesson.

We were there last week and they were letting the cars through when we got there at 7:35. There wasn't any line, so I don't know exactly what time they opened the gates.

When you get to the entrance, the line for Donald's is over on the right. They check for your ADR and then let you through.

With two groups stampeding to Everest, one has to get there first. Sometimes it'll be the Donal's crowd and other times (more often, in my experience of early breakfasts) it is the main gate crowd.

I don't like Donald's, much prefering a Tusker House breakfast...but once again, there I was. Gotta give sometimes! :)

Very helpful advice everyone! We also have ADRs at 8 am next month.

Okay, so they have a seperate rope for Dinoland, but where do you wait if you want to take off to Everest? Do you have to wait at the rope that leads to Discovery Island or is there a rope over by the shortcut to Asia (back by Tarzan's old hang-out)?

It's the same thing. That's how you get there from Donald's. :) The people in Dinoland are heading to Everest, just like the main gate people are.

What? Wait, now I'm confused. I had heard (and read) that they were allowing people (after breakfast) to line up at a rope over in the direction of the old Tarzan Rocks area instead of having to head back out to Discovery Island (which is where the people at the main gate will be streaming to Everest from. So, people who had early ADRs at Donald's would have a possible lead on the other group because they'd just be taking the shortcut between Asia and Dinoland?? Did I read wrong or are they not doing that? (Am I making sense at all?) :confused3

Sorry, I must be missing something, I thought there were two different roped off ways to get out of Dinoland at this point? Or is everyone just corraled in a small area by Donald's and then let loose from there?

We did this 8/17. After our bfast, we waited at the rope drop into Dinoland. The rope is dropped before the public reaches it, then we zipped around the corner, broke into a dead run, and waited at the next rope where 2 cast members walk you to EE and into the FP lane. We were way ahead of the public.
