7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

Hello my friends.

I am home :woohoo:

Robin,
Safe trip and lota fun :wizard:
pixiedust: for Alex, I hope it doesnt return..Maybe it was just heartburn:confused3

WE had a safe trip and it was an enjoyable weekend.

Our first night there I got a text message from Liz in the middle of the night saying she was taking Alex back to the emerg because he was having pains again:guilty:

They didn't figure out what is causing them yet but thought it could be his gall bladder or maybe an ulcer.

Guess what.... CW won a raffle drawing at a March of Dimes benefit we went to last Friday! It was airfare for 2 anywhere in the continental US! Now... where to go... We are thinking of flying to Southern CA with the kids. Not sure yet!

Oh how exciting for you all Kelly.

How come I can never win anything good like that:confused3

I'm sure that you would all enjoy a trip to California.

I know that I would.

Darn, I've missed you...

Sorry to hear Alex was feeling bad! Has he been sensitive to any foods and having bad heartburn or anything dealing with his digestive track. I had really, really bad pains. I swore I was having a heart attack... after a yucky, nasty test... they diagnosed me with a hiatal hernia.

I hope he's feeling better and on the mend!:wizard:

I hadn't thought of that before Kelly.

My mom had a hiatal hernia.

I have passed the information on to Alex so that he could look into the symptoms.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Betsy & Robin - Do you ever hear from 'The Sisters' ?

Ann still shows up occasionally on the Threadkillers but we have not heard from the other two sisters in a very very long time.

Robin, how did you enjoy your trip in the camper? I bet you missed your little kitty while you were gone!:cutie:

Yes I did miss my little kitty a lot while I was away.

Welcome home Robin, I'm pleased that you had a great weekend in your trailer - did you take any photos ?

I hope Alex is OK, is he having any more tests ?

Have a great day girls :thumbsup2

You were up super early this morning Mandy :cat:

I did take a few pictures but not that many really.

Alex has to call and get an appointment for an ultrasound of his abdomen.

That should tell him if it is his gall bladder or not.

Hello DWDQs,:wave2:
Welcome home Robin!

Well as promised.....:3dglasses

My bluebird of happiness!:thumbsup2

Just checking in to say Good Morning!

Thanks!...
Im glad I took the pictures when I did,....
Its weird cause, The one day I watched her all day, took tons of pictures,Then I happened to see her the next morning feeding her young, and the next day NOTHING...Both her and the young...are gone..:confused3
Most of been time to move on...:teleport:

It looks like it may be nice today, but Im not hoping for much, ...
We had to have a fire last night:cold: The report says we should be in the 70s by the weekend...Kind of hard to believe...:sad2:

Robin,
How is Alex doing?....pixiedust: Better I hope.

Mandy, Kelly...:wave2:

No real plans today....:confused3

Hey Girls

I've had a quiet day today. I went to town with my friend this morning and had a chat, but that's about it

I've got a few busy days coming up, so I don't mind chilling out today

Tomorrow I'm having my hair cut, then on Friday we're all going away for the weekend. So me, Paul, Kerry, Becky and their friend Bex are heading down to Southampton for a shopping weekend

Hopefully, we'll do some shopping, have a nice meal, take the kids to the cinema and have fun

Next week the girls are off school for the week as it's the end of term, so no doubt they'll be driving me mad

What are you all up to ? Is anyone doing anything nice over the next few days ?

Have a great day everyone

Hi there ladies.

Today I spent most of the day at work, catching up on things.

Yesterday was Liz's 21st birthday so we had grandparents over for dinner.

Other than that, not too much exciting happening here.

Rick is going away for the weekend to another competition.

I'm staying home because Liz is having her top wisdom teeth out on Friday morning.

I figured I should be here for the weekend in case she needs someone to help her.

Mandy, sounds like you have another nice weekend planned:)

Enjoy your time away.

Morning Girls

I've got a busy day today. I'm taking my mum into Coventry to get her hair done this morning, then I'm having my hair cut this afternoon in town. Becky has got parents evening after school before going tobogganing with her Youth Club and poor Kerry has got an afternoon of exams

Robin - I hope Liz had a great birthday, and that everything goes well when she has her wisdom teeth out (ouch !!)

Have a great day girls

Take care

Thanks for the birthday greeting Mandy.

Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you.

Are you doing something different with your hairstyle?

I really need to find the time for a haircut too.

I'm trying to decide whether to have my hair permanently coloured.

I've used the wash out stuff in the past but am considering getting it done at the hair salon:confused3

Any thoughts?

Hey girls!!

Robin, I hope Alex gets to the bottom of his symptons soon! I've heard the gall bladder can make you feel pretty miserable too! Best wishes tommorrow for Liz:wizard:

About coloring your hair... I would let the salon give ya a good color that suits you. I always get scared trying that at home... I've seen too many family members end up with a bad color due to different minerals in their hair/water!:headache:

d2576.gif

And a happy birthday to you Liz!

Betsy, love the pics of the birdies! Brittany did a great job with the snowy pic! And I love how you captured Mike with his guitar, makes it a very cool picture! How many fish do you have in your aquarium? That looks really neat too!

Mandy, have fun shopping this weekend! CW & I are taking the kids to Cape Hatteras, NC to meet up with my older sister and her family. We are going to hang out with them for the Memorial Day weekend. The weather looks great for us.:cool1: Hope Becky enjoys tobogganing and pass on the good luck to Kerry for her exams!:wizard:

P. S. Carolin got her braces and loves them! I'll post some pics tommorrow!

Morning Girls

Phew, what a day I had yesterday, I was so busy running around after my mum, the girls, getting my hair cut, popping round to my friends - as her computer was playing up and Paul was trying to fix it for her, and dropping Paul off so he could go out with some of his ex-workmates. I finally got to chill out about 8.30 last night

I've had my hair cut a lot shorter at the back, though it is still a bit longer at the front. I colour my hair myself, it's pretty much my natural colour, but the colour does leave it a lot shinier :thumbsup2

Well we're off for our shopping weekend later on this afternoon. The girls are bring their friend Bex with them, and we'll have a couple of nights in a hotel, hopefully do some Summer holiday shopping and go out for a nice meal tomorrow night

I hope you all have a great weekend, I know it's Memorial Day in the US, do you get to celebrate that too Robin ?

Have fun whatever you're getting up to, and I'll 'see' you Sunday :)

Mandy, we had our long weekend last weekend. It is Victoria Day. It celebrates the birthday of Queen Victoria.

I had quite the day yesterday morning.

First I get to dance class and find the dance teacher in tears.

Her little pug dog Frank had been run over and killed in the driveway of her boyfriends parents house the night before.

Frank was such a little cutie and very smart. She used to bring him to dance classes with her when he was younger and he loved to dance with us.

Her boyfriends mother accidentally ran him over. Poor, poor lady, she must be just devastated about it.

I offered to cancel class that morning, since I was the only one there but she wanted to continue.

So we spent the hour dancing and talking about Frank.

She was a bit better last night when I went but could easily cry if she let herself think too much.:guilty:

okay now to the story with Alex.

Last night he had another attack of his "gallbladder" symptoms.

The pain came on really quickly and was the worst attack yet.

I had to take him to the ER yet again. We arrived there at about 9:45pm.

The waiting room was fairly busy but the Fast Track clinic was open. It takes the less urgent cases so it frees up the emergency room beds for more serious stuff.

They took him back and did some blood work and gave him a shot of pain killer and sent him back to me in the waiting room to wait his turn.

He got back into the Emergency room about 11:30ish.

I waited 2 hours in the waiting room with no word and finally asked about his condition.

At that point they let me back to sit with him.

He had been lying there in the bed for all that time basically left alone. They did take his blood pressure before they desserted him

About 40 minutes after I got back there the doctor finally came to see him.

They decided that they were going to sort of fast forward him by making him an appointment with a surgeon next week.

He is having ultrasound on Tuesday morning to see if they see any gall stones and then will see the surgeon after that.

We got home again around 2:30 am :faint.

The doctor basically told him if he wants to try and control the pain, he needs to become a vegetarian for the next little while.

Not much chance for that happening, although he has really, really been trying to watch what he eats.

AND this morning Liz has to go at have her two top wisdom teeth removed

So that will be more sitting and waiting for me.

Maybe I can nap while Liz is sleeping after having her teeth out.

I think it's gonna be a long day.

Well, I best head off to the shower, although I have a nice little kitty sleeping on me at the moment :cat:

G'day ladies.

Having fun Mandy??

Enjoying the weather Betsy??

Here the sun is shining but it is windy so therefore it is quite cool feeling if you are not in a sheltered spot.

I will be so happy when the weather finally decides to warm up and stay that way.

Rick is gone for the weekend to Ohio for an airplane competition.

Alex is off working on his ambulance and Liz is recovering from having two wisdom teeth removed yesterday.

I spent the afternoon learning an Irish dance for our upcoming dance recital.

Not too much exciting really going on here.

We all had a great time this weekend. Friday evening consisted of a KFC and a chilling evening. Then Saturday we hit the shops. The girls went off to Toys R Us, as the store had just re-opened after a big refit. They phoned us to tell us they'd had their photos taken with some Star Wars characters, so Paul & I went over to see what was going on.

The next few hours were spent shopping. The girls went off and did their own thing, and came back hours later with t-shirts, dvds, clothes and Becky got a Ratatouille pillow

I didn't get much. Just some more cropped jeans, some coconut smelling shower gel and body cream and some cheap sunglasses (as I'd left mine at home)

Later in the afternoon, the girls chilled back at the room and Paul & I drove to a park next to Southampton docks. It was lovely and warm and we sat out for an hour and had a ice cream

We went back to the room to get changed and we went out for dinner

We had a lovely meal at Frankie & Benny's (the chain of restaurants that I go to for a glass of wine on a Friday night)

Becky, Bex & Kerry at their table

After dinner the girls went to see Ironman, and Paul & I went for a drink and waited for them to come out

We had a lovely breakfast this morning, and headed home around 11am and got home about 1.30pm. We had a great time :thumbsup2
