Good morning to all.

Hope everyone has a good day and happy getting ready for Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

I'm going to try and get some of my cruise pictures posted here for you guys in the next couple of days. I've got tons of other stuff to do to, so hopefully I can get to it soon.

Good morning Robin & Mandy!!
Good morning my cruising pals!!

A very nasty day here in Virginia! Yucky rain and lots of wind, I'm hoping all travelers make it safely to their destinations! Not good travel conditions here at all! :guilty:

Hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!!

I can't wait to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade tommorrow a.m.!!! :cheer2:

Hi Guys

It's been a horrible, wet and cold day here too (ooh I can feel the Caribbean calling me :) )

Tonight we went to have a look at the college that Kerry is hoping to attend next September to take her 'A' Levels. She seemed really impressed with it and the kids look so grown up. If she gets good grades next Summer she is hoping to take Psychology, English Literature, Film or Media studies and a maybe a couple of other subjects - oh no, my babies are growing up too quick

I was really good today and did my exercise DVD for the first time in 3 or 4 weeks. I really have to get myself motivated for these last few weeks or I'm going to feel like a blob in my new clothes

Have fun with the rest of your Thanksgiving preparations, don't forget to take some piccies so I can see you all with your families

Mandy :)

Hi Mandy!

I'm getting ready to leave for the day! I'm kinda not looking forward to tommorrow with all of the food that will try to call me back to fill my plate a second time! :guilty:

But... I'll make sure we get some good pics and post them!

Good luck to Kerry! She sounds like a very bright, young lady!

Take care! :grouphug:

I'm sorry to hear that you all are having such yucky weather.

The weather here is absolutely gorgeous and is expected to remain that way for the rest of the week and into Monday and Tuesday of next week :sunny:

Happy morning to all.

I've got my new dishwasher installed this morning :thumbsup2

The only appliance in our house not replaced in the past year is the dryer. Hmmm, I wonder how long before it breaks down too

Hi All

I hope that your Thanksgiving celebrations went well, I hope you've taken some photos to share

Have a great day

Mandy :)

 Mandy

I'm sad to report that I've gained a bit of weight back while on my cruise :guilty: I knew I shouldn't have eaten all those yummy desserts :sad2:

Maybe I can work extra hard at dance classes for the next few weeks and work it all off again :confused3

:wave2: Hi Robin

Don't worry about a couple of pounds, I know I wouldn't have been able to resist that lovely cruise food

Have you posted any photos of your holiday yet on the T'Kers thread yet ?? I'm really looking forward to seeing them and hearing about it too

Have a good day

Mandy :)

BTW Guys - I have put my Christmas trees up, but I'm not allowed to decorate them until the girls get back from school. I'll post some piccies tomorrow :thumbsup2

No I've not posted any picture yet.

I've got to get out of lazy mode first :p

I took about 300 of them though, so I should be able to find a few to share :lmao:

I have sad news. DH and I have decided that the cruise is just too much right now. I think we had both hoped that the old house would sell by now. So, Disney kindly transferred our reservations to a 2008 dates for a 50 fee each.

I can't say how sad I am that I will never meet you dear folks in person. YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A FANTASTIC CRUISE. ANd someday, perhaps, we'll get a chance to meet again.

I'm still excited for each of you and will be checking in occassionally. But I think I'll let the tears dry before I do...

Pixie Dust for a delightful trip.

:grouphug: Oh Jennifer

I am so sorry that you won't be joining us on the cruise, and I really hope that we meet up one day

Please stay in touch with us on here, as we consider you a friend and would still love to hear what you are up to and your Christmas plans

I'm so pleased that DCL have changed the date for you, and I hope you manage to sell your old house soon

Take care

Mandy :)

So sorry to hear that you won't be joining us Jennifer.

Hope you have a good cruise sometime in 2008.

My Adventure of the Seas trip report.

Day One - Puerto Rico

We headed to Detroit, Saturday night and stayed the night in a hotel there before our flight out on Sunday morning. The flight was delayed 45 minutes because the ground crew couldn't seem to figure out how to put suitcases into the airplane  I think the pilot was getting a bit peeved at the whole situation. Anyways we finally got airborne and made pretty good time, arriving in San Juan only about 1/2 hour late.

We retrieved our luggage and found our way to the Royal Caribbean ground transportation. We boarded a bus and were on our way to the port in no time at all. First we had to put all our suitcases onto a truck that would transport them to the ship.

When we pulled up to the terminal there were HUGE lines of people waiting outside the terminal to register and board the ship  Because we took Royal Caribbean's transportation and had no luggage to check in, we were allowed into a special line which put us way ahead of everyone standing outside. We checked in, had our picture taken and boarded the ship.

First stop, our cabin on deck 9 to drop off our carryone baggage. While there we met up with our room steward. I used the washroom before we left for lunch and noticed ants on the bathroom counter :sad2: I told the room steward and he said he'd take care of it for us.

So off to lunch in Windjammer Cafe. It was of course very crowded but we found most of the rest of our group. We had not all travelled together but did all arrive within an hour of each of each other. By this time it was 5pm and dinner was scheduled for 6.

Even though we had no interest in dinner Rick and I headed off to the dining room on time. We had to go in what we travelled in because our luggage had not been delivered to our room yet. Most people seemed to be in the same situation.

Turned out we were the only two from our group that went to dinner that night. A table for 12 for 2 people :p

Did some exploring, saw the evening show ( a comedian who was forgettable), came across our travelling companions and visited for a bit, checked out the buffet snacks  and then headed off to bed around 1am.

A very long and interesting first day.

Oh...Goodie the start of Robin's TR... :cool1: ...Cant wait to hear the rest :thumbsup2
Im on my way to bed...Hope ya all had a good day...Ill see you in the morning :sunny: :wave2:

Day 2 - Sea Day

After a very good rest, I woke up around 9 am.

I went to get ready to greet the day and found out there were ants in the bathroom again. Tons of them all over in the medicine cabinet. :faint:

I found the room steward in the hallway and told him. He said he'd check it out again.

I thought. I can't be dealing with ants everyday of my vacation so I went to Guest Services and told the lady there the whole story. She asked my cabin number, my room stewards name etc. Then she tried to tell me that there was no such person with my room stewards name and that there was no complaint made by me the day before about the ants in my room. What the heck :confused3 She says........ did you see the ants.... no lady, I'm complaining about invisible ants :sad2: (I really wished now that I had thought to take a picture of the ants, don't know why I didn't, I managed to remember to take 291 OTHER pictures :lmao: )

So the doubting lady gets an officer type guy from the back. He accompanies me to my cabin to check it out. Fortunately for me, he saw the "invisible" ants. He said that they would have to fumigate the room, so they'd move us to a new cabin. So we received a new cabin on deck 6. A very nice upgrade cabin at that, with a verandah (our very first). We also received quite a few phone calls in the first few days, checking to see if we were satisfied with our new accomodations.

People look at you a little weirdly when you are pulling suitcases around the ship on the second day onboard :rotfl: We just told people we didn't like the cruise and were getting off. One old guy seemed to actually believe us :p Where did he think we were going to get off. We were in the middle of the ocean

So, off to the buffet for brunch :teeth:

After lunch we decide to relax beside the adult pool:

After an afternoon of rest and relaxation and exploration, we went to dinner :thumbsup2

After dinner we went to the evening entertainment. It was a group by the name of Mosaic. If you ever get the chance to see these guys, don't pass it up. They are absolutely amazing. They were special entertainers brought in for the evening, not Royal Caribbean regulars. They are performing in Las Vegas right now.

Mosaic is a group of singers, I guess you'd call them. Every sound that you hear during the performance is made by them with their own voices. No musical instruments or other enhancements. They about blew us away, you'd forget after awhile that they were doing it all on their own.

Later we sat in the Royal Promenade (the street in the middle of the ship) at a pub called the Duck and Dog (I think). We'd sit there many evenings, have a drink and watch the people pass by.

That was basically our first day at sea. Off to bed to rest up for our first port of call, Aruba.

Day 3 - Aruba

Today started the same as our normal vacation pattern. I got up around 8 or so and headed out for breakfast and to explore the ship. Rick slept until 11 and I came back to meet him and we went for brunch together.

Just in case you are confused and lose track while you are on the ship, the elevators are pretty handy places to be. :thumbsup2

Some sights that I saw as I was exploring the ship that morning.....

hmmm, I think they put that there just for me ;)

The mini golf course:

A small portion of the children's water play area.

This guy on the Royal Promenade.... he scared the bejeebees out of me for the first few days. I kept thinking he was a real man. After awhile, everytime I'd walk by him, I'd just shake my finger at him

A small portion of the Windjammer Cafe. I think this was one of the few times that it was not totally packed full of people.
