When I was in school I got to go to NYC! :smooth: .......Of course I lived on Long Island at the time :lmao: We went to see "2001" the space movie .....Boy I guess that dates me :hippie: . Doesnt it? ....IM OLD!

I have never been to Paris....and I dont think Ill ever make it there....But it sounds like a fantastic school trip.... :thumbsup2 ..Im sure she will have a blast!

:wave2: Hiya

Becky arrived safely in Paris last night. Today she has been on a walk to see The Arc de Triomphe and she has visited The Palace of Versailles (she found the palace rather boring - LOL). She made me laugh tonight, she said that she was next to a huge Disney Store and the teachers wouldn't allow them in - she was gutted

Tomorrow she will go to the Eiffel Tower and for her river cruise along the Seine and then the highlight of the week will be Disneyland Paris ~ where no doubt there will be plenty of time for Disney shopping :lmao:

I hope that Robin is having a great trip and that you are all well

See ya

Mandy :)

Betsy, I see that you've got a short countdown to your next trip, I bet you are so excited, how long are you going for and will you be staying at the Poly for the whole trip. If you see Stitch ~ say 'hi' to him from me. I hope you have a fab time ~ Do you have an itinerary ?? I'd love to hear your plans

I hope that everyone is keeping well

The trip was wonderful Mandy. The weather was awesome the whole time we were there.

We spent the first three days in Orlando. We toured around and looked at some of the Disney Resorts. We ended up buying some park hopper passes and hopping around the parks one day. We went on Soarin and Expedition Everest, two rides we had not done before. Of course there were other things we did too. We ate at a few Disney Restaurants that we hadn't been to in the past.

After that we went over to the Lakeland Florida area. We spent one day at Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven. That was a very nice day. There is an amusement park there and there are virtually no lines for the rides. The flower gardens are beautiful too.

The rest of the time was spent at the remote control airplane competition. It was quite relaxing. Watching the airplanes fly and also crash  sitting around outside and enjoying the days.

Our friend came home with second place in his class division. That is quite an honour because this was a by invitation only flying event and only top flyers are invited.

All in all, it was a very successful vacation.

:wave2: It sounds like you had a fab trip Robin, and you got to Disney too ~ have you got anymore trips planned before the cruise ? :)

We ate at the Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. We've eaten there once before too. The food was okay. I'm not a big fan of the bread they make their sandwiches out of though.

We also ate at the Crystal Palace, Pooh and Friends, Dinner Buffet. The food was really good at this buffet. Lots of different things, more exotic types of things. I can't say I was much impressed with the character wandering around. They pretty much ignored us, I guess because we were two adults with no children. Eeyore did stop and shake my hand though.

The last place we ate at was Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. We had the Canyon Skillet, which is an all you can eat skillet with various types of meats, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, baked beans and corn bread. The food was very good too.

All of these places we just walked up to the door and asked if we could come in. No problems getting a table at all. The longest wait was maybe 15 minutes.

For myself, I don't see the appeal of the Disney Restaurants. The food was good but I don't think any of the places that we have eaten at have that WOW factor that a lot of other people find. I enjoyed eating at the Disney places but I certainly can't ever see me obsessing over getting advanced seating like a lot of DISers seem to. Everyone is different I guess, that's why there are so many choices available. :thumbsup2
