Was last night the first new show of the season, or did I miss it? I was totally confused when it became apparent that Lucy had lost the twins..

And at the beginning of the show - where they give the names of the actors and actresses - there were so few of them there.. Where did everyone else go? Will the show center around only the Reverend, his wife, the twins, Lucy & her DH, Martin and his GF now?? :confused3

The season premiere was the week before, so you missed the first episode. I read on the other 7th Heaven thread that many of the young characters will only appear sporadically this season.

Oh - thanks! Not too sure I'll watch it regularly without the rest of the cast..

I know - we were devoted to this show in its early years, but it kind of jumped the shark for me when the twins were born and the older kids started to leave. I sort of wish it had ended it last year.

and the show just isn't the same without the entire cast..supposedly Mary and Carlos just had twins and Mary is all of a sudden a teacher?
Simon is still away at school Rose isn't mentioned and out of the picture I guess
Matt and Sara are hardly mentioned..yet I believe they were expecting twins also..anyone know if they had them?
Ruthie is in Scotland..I thought that was a 'summer' field trip?
Lucy miscarried her twins and had a meltdown at church..blamed her 'hot' husband Kevin and her entire family for it?
Martin is now trying to get back with Sandy and his son..has anyone else notice that Martin is really 'bulked' up in the muscle dept this season?
The parents all of a sudden look very old, yet dad Eric is now being hit upon by the much younger teacher of David and Sam?
As much as I loved this series, and watched it from the beginning..they should have left well enough alone and ended with the series finale as they had planned..
and that's JMHO

I agree that the series should have ended last year. It's so pathetic to see the credits and to see so few of the original family members. I heard it was a money saving thing, to have a smaller cast.

It's made things silly, though....we're all the time seeing SANDY (and Martin) at college, but why not Simon? And I hate it when characters are not consistent...last year, Sandy was practically stalking Martin and now she doesn't even want to date him. And can't they even pay a bit of money to hire a baby actor to show us baby Aaron every so often. Martin comes over all the time to see Sandy, but he never plays with the baby.

Yup it should have just ended last season. If the first and second episodes are any indication of how its going to be, I will no longer watch.

I'm also not terribly pleased that the theme of last night's show was sex - Rev. and Mrs. having too much, Kevin and Lucy not at all and Martin wanting to seduce Sandy. Even if two of the three couples are married, it's a bit suggestive for "Seventh Heaven" and the audience the show has attracted.

I agree too that they should've ended it with last season. I think the last episode from last season was a bit over the edge. Lucy, Mary and Matt's wife were all pregnant with twins. Oh c'mon, they could've at least had one of them be pregnant with twins while the other two have a singleton.

I was wondering about Ruthie as well; I thought she was only suppose to be in Scotland for the summer. Martin trying to seduce Sandy is funny. How come they don't show him trying to bond with his son? Are they ever going to show Mary again? What about Matt and Sarah? I know they're in NY but maybe they can at least show them talking to their parents over the phone or something. Annie is suppose to be leaving for a few weeks to help Mary out, so I wonder if they'll show her then.

Matt and Sarah had their babies....I believe it was boys. And I am pretty sure Mary is an Assistant Coach (basketball, I think) and not a teacher.

The show should have ended last year.

If the CW wanted to bring another drama along from the WB - it should have been Everwood!

Also..am i the only one who thought that the last episode of last season kind of implied that SIMON was actually the father of sandy's baby? :confused3

She is a teacher & is subbing for the Basketball coach at the school who is out for a reason I can't remember.

They certainly did imply that...but then the series is picked up again, and I'm sure Martin's salary is less than Simon's so - presto! - the baby is Martin's again!

Also, when did Mary go to college? I thought she quit college to become a flight attendent.

Excuse me for being clueless about this, but didn't this show have a tearful series finale and all that jazz earlier in the year?

What brought it back?

I am completely confused. When they announced it was renewed didn't they said the premier would be Oct 9 (I remembered the date because it is my sister's birthday). I then realized that last nights episode was new and aparently I had missed the premier.
So thebaby is Martin's afterall. OK so did they let us in on what the big tlak was that Sandy had to have with Simon?

Bumping up since tonight's episode was interesting.
Who is Stanley?

It had an ending (pretty sad last show, if you ask me), but got picked up by another network.

I really liked 7th Heaven. Didn't watch much in its final years, but liked it. Haven't seen these new episodes.
